Dana was so delightful, and did great color and cut! The salon was decorated and spotless and everyone was great at making you feel great!

I called as a first time customer for a very last minute appointment. I needed a haircut and they were able to get me in right away. I was unsure as to what I wanted and my stylist made great recommendations. I was attending my best friend's funeral the following day, so she told me not to do anything drastic while I was feeling so emotional. She cut off the ragged ends and did a fabulous job on my bangs. I went in thinking I would be cutting off all of my hair but I am so grateful she recognized that would not have been the best idea for me. The salon is clean, the staff are nice and the prices are reasonable. I will definitely go back, and I highly recommend!!! read more

While everyone was friendly enough, I felt like my stylist Leslie was distracted and didn't seem very interested in actually listening to what I wanted, although I was specific in my description. When she was done, all the layers I had asked for were not there and the length was still longer than what I had asked for. I had to ask her again for more layers and to take off more length. The length was corrected but she barely added more layers. I gave up asking at that point. I was subsequently left with an almost shapeless blob of hair I could almost nothing with. I was willing to come back and see another stylist and requested another appointment online, mentioned my experience and asked to perhaps see a more senior stylist. They never even bothered to respond. I went to another salon and the stylist confirmed that the layers were uneven and almost nonexistent in the back. She actually listened to me and I will be going there from now on. Extremely disappointed. read more

I got a good haircut but was charged $45 for a men's haircut. It does say $30 and UP so I get it is within their policy to do so, I just wish I was told it was $15 more not including tip. read more

The end result was I was charged $405 dollars for a color and cut that I have received previously at salons in Chester (sorry Sam is gone from Sheer Genius) for $175-$225. When I called for the appointment I was quoted $220 for a naked color, shoulder length hair, and that there could be other charges but at NO TIME during the process was I told there were additional charges of $200, even when I commented to the stylist, Natalie, that I had never had to use 3x color. Asked for blonde, showed the stylist photos of myself with the color I prefered and she insisted that I would be "thrilled". Color ended up being brown, not blonde. Not impressed with the lack of communication or the color end result. read more

We are from out of town and came for a party. My mother in law needed her hair styled for later in the day. We called the day of and they had two spots open. When we got there the salon was very clean. They had complimentary coffee and the vibes were very welcoming and relaxing. The stylist asked lots of questions and always checked in to see if my MIL was happy with what she was getting. Her hair looked beautiful and just what we asked for. This review is specifically for STYLING This place was AMAZING. Basically what happened was...I pretty much winged my bridal hair the day of my wedding. I didn't have prior hair trials or anything like that...and planned to just call up some places the day of my wedding. Yes, it is pretty foolish of me...but then I wouldn't have crossed paths with this wonderful salon! I searched around my hotel area on a Saturday morning in September. Mind you, it was like 8AM and the anxiety started to settle. I called a few places, including Yorya, and great! They were able to take me in for a 0930AM appointment. I get there and the interior is so relaxing with nice seafoam green-ish hues. In addition, there was also a little tea station for those waiting or wanting something to drink while they were getting the services done. I don't remember who I got the styling done with... (I think it was Rachel?) but she sat me down, and I showed her a photo. I told her that it was important that a long hair stick could go through the bun, since I needed it for the traditional ceremony. She said a okay and worked on my hair. My hair for reference is THICK and...there is A LOT to work with. She took a lot of time and effort in curling my hair, making the bun...and asked me along the way if anything was uncomfortable (there were a lot of bobby pins involved...), she finished my hair by setting it and spraying this anti-humidity spray and my hair lasted ALL DAY. I was impressed. AND BEST OF ALL. IT WAS AFFORDABLE!! AND! It looked EXACTLY like the photo I showed her! Thank you so much! If I am ever in the area I will most definitely be coming back. read more

Some of the pros were that they were able to get me in for a same day appt, friendly staff. With that being said, I just can't justify that my haircut was $90 but I'll get over that. My earrings were lost at the salon (my fault for forgetting to take them out) but nonetheless sucks. Was told my hair had damaged and told I needed to do xyz with it which was not what I was expecting. It's a good place though, just a few things to keep in mind. read more

I had a 10/10 experience yesterday at this salon with my stylist, Brianna. I arrived a little early and was greeted by the receptionist who took my temperature before escorting me to Brianna's station right away. There was also an automatic hand sanitizer available at the door, and everyone in the salon was wearing masks the entire time. I explained the cut and color I wanted and Brianna was very knowledgeable and we got started right away. After rinsing my color, she conditioned my hair and gave me a scalp massage, then put a hot towel on my head. It felt amazing and just a little extra something to enhance your experience. Everyone in the salon worked together and the atmosphere was very welcoming. I got the best haircut I've ever had thanks to my stylist knowing her stuff and I'm definitely making this my go-to salon. So glad I've moved back to area so I can come here again!! Greeted me right away and offered me a mimosa or coffee. Of course I got the Mimosa! But did enjoy some coffee later too. Dana was my stylist today and she is the one to book with! I seriously have no negative comments to make about her or the Salon. She took her time with me to figure out exactly what I was looking for and the color I prefer. I told her I didn't like when my highlights stand out too much so she did a glaze at the end that, wow, I am in love with!! When she was done, she asked me what I thought and I loved everything about it, but made a comment that next time I think I'll go a little shorter. My stylist told me that what people love most about Salon Yorya are the hot towels applied to the hair after washing. She was right..That is the best part of the place. But not worth $120, which is what I was charged for a single only color. No highlights, no cut. Just a single color on shorter than shoulder length hair. When I called to ask about the fees, ( I thought that they must have made a mistake ), they said that there was no mistake and that the prices listed on the website are a Ia cart. I was told I was charged for a color, a "pull through", whatever that is, and a blow dry. Avoid this salon. It is not worth it. read more

So being a mom with not much resources in terms of help, I generally have to do a lot with My two year old. This really leaves not much time for things like extensive shopping trips or pampering. Today I made the bold move of taking him along as I got an eyebrow wax. I of course asked ahead if it was okay. I've had great and bad experiences in the past taking him along more so from the shaming of having to bring along a child, which to some extent I get, but not all of us have sitters readily available etc. the salon said it was perfectly okay! Anyway all in all I really appreciated not feeling uncomfortable for having to bring my child around, it's extremely moving in my overly emotional heart to not feel embarrassed or shamed for wanting to treat myself and having to bring the little guy. I've been here about three or four times over the past year and I always see Dana. She's the best. She did a great color (highlighting) job on me last summer. I was thrilled with it! Then over the winter, I got cabin fever and went a little crazy and decided to take my hair from a beautiful shade of blonde to black...on my own...out of a bottle.....Well, needless to say THAT was a mistake. I'm too fair to have black hair and I ended up looking like a witch. Sorry to all the witches out there, but it's true. So, I came crawling back to Dana after trying a color corrector on my hair myself (you'd think I'd have learned my lesson, but no). Dana didn't rush into anything. She recognized my hair was severely damaged and gave me a good trim. Then she recommended a hair mask to help repair my damaged hair. I followed her instructions with the mask and returned after a month or so. She was going to do a color correction on it, but felt it was okay to go ahead and lighten it. She worked MAGIC on my hair! I loved it. She even styled it and gave me some beautiful, long curls. Went back this past week for a touch up for my roots. She got the roots and added some more blonde. I'm obsessed with my hair and so happy with her expertise! I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a good color! read more

Just moved to Chester and looked around for a good stylist since those chain brand establishments kept messing up my hair cut. The moment I walked into Yorya, I was greeted warmly and offered a drink while I waited for my stylist. This place is appointment based and the interior is really nice. They sell a wide variety of hair products starting from shampoos to styling products. They have a waiting room with comfortable couches and a Kurieg to accommodate customers. While waiting for my stylist, I've observed other stylists and they seem to very friendly to their customer. Dana was my stylist for the day. She was very polite and introduced herself immediately. Then she asked what I wanted and kind of brain stormed on how to get the cut I desired. She was very meticulous and really seem to put a lot of effort in the cutting process. She was very thorough and made sure every hair was cut perfectly. She also ended up washing my hair and followed it up with a hot towel and scalp massage. Pricier than your regular barber of course, but the money is so worth the effort these ladies put into not only the customer service, but the care into cutting the hair. By far one of the best salons I've been to. Recommend to everyone for sure, I definitely am coming back for my cuts. read more

My daughter visited your salon today for a Balayage hair color. When the appointment was made last week we were told the color would cost $85.00 and up ... so I figured $100 to $150. Today we spent $265.00!!! Of course the price wasn't fully disclosed until after services were rendered. It would have been so nice if you all were forthcoming and fully explained what exactly was involved to get a balayage color and how this would overall impact the pricing. After all, you had to have understood what she wanted when she explained it to you last week because you knew how much time to set aside for the coloring. Your ethics leave little to be desired. It pains me to write this review, as the receptionists were kind and accommodating and the there are a sea of positive reviews. However, for nearly $200 and at what I thought was a somewhat high end salon, I had an expectation that a stylist would be able to correct my previous bad haircut and some color correction after I spent 4 months growing out my hair to work with my natural color. The haircut was very poorly done (the face framing angled cut is uneven throughout) and the color is far from the desired look that I thought I had described (it was a brassy, orange color with artificial bright blonde highlights). I felt like the amount I paid would've gotten me a killer haircut at an upscale salon in New York or Dallas, so I feel quite ripped off to have to grow out my hair and correct the mistakes in cut and color. I may have been booked with a stylist that didn't match the look I was going for, but she was one of the master stylists so I was still expecting the result to be worth the price. read more

I was here in May Brianna did my daughters hair color - long hair - and it came out just like she wanted and here we are in almost September and although there has been some fade, it is still a beautiful color and the roots aren't noticeable at all. Not sure what color product is used, but it sure seems to be of a high quality. Returning for a renewal soon. read more
