I had been doing A LOT of research on eyelash extensions before deciding to go with Luxe Lashes, because I was very concerned about maintaining the health of my natural lashes, and I wanted to make sure I was going with someone reputable. Their website is very informative and reiterated all the safe practices I was looking for, so I knew they were going to be great. It took me a couple minutes to find the salon, but it is really cute and well decorated! My appointment was with Paris, and upon meeting her I was very excited to get my lashes done. She was super sweet and very knowledgeable, and she talked with me about what length/volume my natural lashes could handle, and told me that they wouldn't do anything more then 2mm longer than my natural lashes, so as not to damage my natural lashes. She said it's always possible to work up to longer/fuller lashes too. We discussed the look I was hoping to achieve and she told me that she'd let me know once she got to look at my lashes more closely if I could do the 80 lashes or the 100. I told her I wanted something super dramatic and noticeable, something that would really show up in the wedding photos. Once we got upstairs, she gave me a neck pillow, I laid down on the table and she got to work. I have to admit, I am super squeamish when it comes to stuff around my eyes. I have trouble going to the eye doctor, or getting my makeup professionally done, so I was VERY nervous about having to lay completely still and have someone working that close to my eyes for an hour +. Besides when she put on the gel eye pads (which go very close to your eye, to hold down the bottom lashes) it was completely relaxing. When she was putting on the gel pads I couldn't help blinking a bunch, so she had to adjust them a couple times; but once she got to work on my eyelashes I had a hard time staying awake! It was very relaxing to lay there with the music playing, and I felt like the 2 hours went by super quick. When I woke up, I had AMAZING full, gorgeous long lashes. These are the lashes dreams are made of! I have to admit, I have already booked my appointments through the holidays because I am not ready to part with these gorgeous things any time soon! The best part, is that since getting them done I have gotten TONS of compliments! I wake up looking fresh and put together with no effort. Even my fiance said they looked amazing and he couldn't believe I didn't have any makeup on! Worth. every. penny!

I had a hard time finding an artist who was in my budget especially because I was just getting my hair and makeup done, none of my bridesmaids or family, and many artists have really high minimums. I'm thankful for Victoria because she could come to my hotel and get me ready and I looked absolutely amazing on my wedding day - my dream look was really achieved. She took my feedback and suggestions really well. She was always very sweet and kind. However, I had some problems leading up to the day that meant I can't leave a 5 star review... I had some communication problems because my emails would sometimes bounce back and my calls go to a phone no longer in service - one time I even had to reach out to her on Facebook to get in touch with her (after I had paid). I booked my trial with her and drove from where I live in DC down to Richmond (even staying in a hotel overnight) and she wasn't there. I was truly shocked. She was very apologetic and came up to meet me in my apartment in DC for my trial instead, but it left a pretty bad impression and made me very anxious for my wedding day. I'm really glad I did the trial because there were some things I wanted to fix for the wedding day (all of which she achieved, except for having the fake eyelashes be a bit too long so they butted up against my glasses, which I pointed out for the trial but was still a problem on the wedding day. I've had my makeup done for other weddings and the fake eyelashes weren't a problem then, so I know shorter ones exist...) Thankfully, she was better at communicating over text after that and showed up on time for my wedding day and everything worked out really well, so all's well that ends well, but there were some bumps in the road.

Cancer Patient Refused $500 Refund - Poorly Done Microblading…read more I am a recently diagnosed cancer patient that was seeking to get my eyebrows microbladed. I went to Maria @mariialash for microblading/"nano brows". Her price for this service is $500. I wanted to get this done prior to starting chemo so I could still have natural-looking brows during treatment. Unfortunately, 100% of the pigment that Maria put on my eyebrows fell out, despite following her care instructions. I informed her of this and sent a photo of my plain brows, stating that I am starting treatment any minute and will be unable to do anything that may compromise my immune system such as getting a tattoo, for at least the next year. At this time I requested a refund. She has refused to disperse a refund stating that her disclaimers her clients sign state this could happen. A flimsy "disclaimer" does not excuse a business from providing good service and exercising good judgement. I do not recommend trusting Maria with your money nor your brows.
