Purchased a dress to attend my best friends' daughters wedding, but the length was too long and needed to be shortened and hemmed. All the Yelps were right the service and skill in alterations was outstanding. Kathy was wonderful, even complimenting the dress saying it looked wonderful in its long length. Dress was carefully measured and shortened to my desired length and ready for pick up on the day I requested. The fabric was very stretchy, which I knew my old sewing machine could not do justice. I'm so glad I went to Yelp to find a good tailor. I saw all the reviews for Kathy's and decided to give her a try. I brought in 2 pairs of Jeans that had holes in the knees. Kathy did a wonderful job repairing them! In fact, I was previously paying 3 times the cost of my jean repairs to a jean repair specialist in Los Angeles. Kathy's work on repairing holes is so much better than the guy in Los Angeles. Plus she adds a bit of jean material under the rip which really reinforces the repairs. The guy in Los Angeles doesn't add extra material and the repairs kept opening up after time. read more

Ordered a custom made bridesmaid dress from etsy and when it came in it was HUGE on top! Like 5 inches too big in the whole bodice. Found Kathy's here on yelp! and chose them for decent reviews, convenient location, and because it was last minute and she had room in her schedule. I was very very nervous using someone new as I've had bad experiences in the past and the way the dress was put together made it a little more complicated to take in. I had several expensive dresses that I had altered here. I was so pleased with how the dresses were fixed. Some of them had designer layers in the bust which could have come out horribly wrong if not fixed correctly. The two seamstresses on site made sure to make it looked correct and like it was never touched. I recommend this shop to everyone on base and especially for formal dress alterations! I brought in some jeans that were just a little too long. They weren't cheap so I needed a real professional to hem them with the original hem. I was greeted immediately when I walked in which is always nice. They have a couple of small dressing rooms just to the right of their space where I was able to put the jeans on so Kathy could take measurements and pin the jeans. She was very kind and professional. I picked up the jeans 2 days later and they did a fantastic job. The jeans fits perfect and the hem line looks like it is straight from the manufacturer. Wow, what a great service. I ordered a secondhand wedding dress online and it came up a bit big in the top department which is very normal for me as I have a slim upper body.
