I got the pabellon arepa and taqueños to go and there was a very short wait (they make the arepas fresh!), but it was so good. I also enjoyed house made mango juice which was very refreshing on a hot summer day. Parking is a bit tight, but there's more parking within walking distance. All in all, a very authentic, local spot.

The server was really friendly and recommended some great options for us. We ordered the following: 1) THE QUEEN - classic Venezuelan "chicken salad" with their home-made avocado mayo, cilantro and sliced avocados (also known as the Reina Pepiada). Fresh with a great balance of umami flavors! The cilantro green sauce was an amazing add-on with a little spicy kick! 2) PORKO LOCO - slow cooked pork marinated in red wine with queso blanco. Tender, moist, and very flavorful. Amazing! 3) CACHAPA - soft crispy pancake made with sweet corn and fried cheese in the middle. Flavor bomb of sweet and savory! 4) EMPANADA (BEEF) - tender, shredded beef with great flavor of savory. The dipping sauce was white, tangy, vinegary, creamy with a slight spiciness. Delicious! 5) SOURSOP JUICE - rare to find restaurants with this drink. Ate the actual fruits in my homeland in SE Asia. The juice was milky/creamy, sweet with an earthy taste. Great health benefits eating or drinking soursop -- antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, etc. Other notable item was the Passion Fruit Juice however, I did not try it. My bestie really liked it. Overall, wonderful experience at the restaurant of the food, service and great interior feeling creating a great ambiance. Definitely will visit again and try out more menu items.

We've worked our way through the menu--from fresh, vibrant salads and flavorful appetizers to perfectly prepared pastas and beautifully crafted signature cocktails--and every dish has been consistently outstanding. You can tell there's real intention behind every plate, with quality ingredients and flavors that feel both fresh and thoughtfully balanced. The service is just as impressive. The staff is attentive, welcoming, and genuinely invested in creating a great dining experience without ever feeling intrusive. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between elegant and inviting, making it ideal for a romantic date night, a relaxed family dinner, or celebrating with a group of friends. It's the kind of place where you can linger over cocktails and conversation while enjoying an exceptional meal. Consistency is hard to find, but Josephine's delivers it every single time. Highly recommend--you won't be disappointed.

Absolutely amazing 5 star time at Josephine!…read more I had heard great things about this place and when some co-workers came into town, I knew I wanted to try this spot with them and I'm so glad I did! The restaurant is beautifully set up and a great vibe. We had Caylee as our server and she was so friendly and bubbly! We started off with some drinks and they were all delicious and had a fresh taste. For appetizers, we ordered family style and got the carpaccio, sourdough focaccia, and the 'nduja arancini with a goat cheese crema. The carpaccio and arancini were my favs but all were perfection! We also did some family style for the mains and got caesar salad, rigatoni bolognese, chicken 'nduja, and carrots with whipped ricotta. The rigatoni bolognese was sooo yummy! We saw the bartenders experimenting with drinks and asked which one it was that looked so good - I believe they called it a burrata cocktail or something but it was actually so good! They brought it out to us to try even though it's not on the menu yet, which was so kind. For desserts, we got the olive oil cake and tiramisu. Tiramisu is my all-time favorite dessert so I thought I was going to like that one better but I actually loved the olive oil cake so much. It was my first time having an olive oil cake but both of the desserts were heavenly. We also got to try some of their homemade chocolate that they brought out to us and those were all delicious as well with different flavors. I hope to come back soon for a pasta making class or cocktail making class or just dinner and drinks. This is probably one of my favorite spots in Jacksonville now!

From the moment we laid eyes on the pastry case, our jaws were on the floor. Everything we had was amazing -- the breakfast sandwich on sourdough, ham & cheese croissant, matcha cheesecake blueberry croissant tart, and the brie country ham & hot honey galette. JUST WOW! We also got some lattes to fuel our morning and I opted for their special brown butter sesame latte -- yum! The bakery itself is very cute with some market and pantry items available to shop as well. The staff was very patient as we asked a million questions about all the pastries before making our selections. Highly recommend this spot if you're in the downtown Jax area!

Yes to all the carbs in this bakehouse!…read more I was in town for a work event and we decided to grab a bite from here since Gabi recommended. It DID NOT disappoint. A cute little spot with a lot of specialized baked goods that will make you want to get one of everything. The service was super friendly and helpful. We ended up getting a few of the baked goods to share for breakfast and I got the matcha lemonade. The lemonade was a good change of pace from my usual matcha latte. To share, we got the matcha cheesecake blueberries danish, the brie country ham and hot honey galette, and a ham and cheese croissant. Everything was delicious and devoured! The inside is also super cute to peruse around and maybe grab something. They have stickers, and a few odds and ends that might interest anyone to get at least one thing. Such a cute bakehouse in Jax!

Neither of us had been to Foo Dog before but we'd both heard good things so it was an easy decision. It turned out to be a great choice! The vibe is very Indiana Jones inside from the decor to the menu itself. They offer different curries from a variety of cuisines plus some small plates that include vegan options (check out the menu pix). I was very tempted by the Butter Curry Over Fries but decided on the House Special Curry with beef. It was delicious with a great depth of flavor to the curry sauce. I was pleasantly surprised by portion size, especially the fact that the rice accounted for less than half of the volume. I was very happy to enjoy my leftovers the next day for lunch.

We both opted for the wild mushroom noodles, always yummy and enough for multiple meals. Unfortunately, the Autumn rolls are now being made with potato sticks, adding too much salt and little flavor. They used to be my favorite but I will be sadly skipping them now. Ordering online with any food delivery app makes it easy and food is made quickly.
