My Boyfriend found this place online We were both pretty excited to try it out as it looks quaint and different. I love experiencing new things. But even from the start the experience for me was bad. My boyfriends experience wasn't bad though. Walking into the little cafe it wasn't too busy, 4 small tables 1 was getting ready to leave. A couple minutes after we came in 1 more table came in. No one else came after that. we weren't sure if we were supposed to wait to be seated or if we were supposed to seat ourselves as this was our first time. When we came in no one greeted us and we stood there awkwardly. Finally one server told the other to put us at a table. Upon sitting down the first thing I noticed was that my tea cup had a big piece piece chipped out on the bottom and the teapot on the table which housed sugar lumps had dust buildup on the spout ( thankfully our tea wasn't poured out of it.) To be honest I would have overlooked both of those things had the rest of our experience been ok. The server was nice enough, took her several minutes to come back to us but we were ok waiting. While waiting the other waitress placed silverware in front of us as she reached across the table to put the silverware in front she was touching the prongs and cutting part of the knife with her fingers... Ok, I just wiped them with my napkin. Our server took our order and we were happy to look around at the neat items on display. I want to say we waited about 20 minutes after ordering to receive our food. I ordered the grilled chicken with mozzarella and peppers, she asked what kind of bread. I didn't know what they served so I asked, and decided upon white bread. When we got the food I realized I had gotten the wrong sandwich. I didn't bite into it, but looked at it and knew it wasn't right. I hate Mayo and they served the chicken with bacon and cranberry mayo ( sounded interesting but NOT what I ordered) I called the girl over and explained that this was not what I had ordered. She apologized and took the sandwich, I said it was ok, thinking the sandwich would be made a priority and come out quickly. I waited and waited. Finally A woman entered the door and I overheard the server ask her if she could make the sandwich because it wasn't right... At this point my boyfriend was nearly done with his food..... I was still waiting when another cook came out and was asking what happened to the other server. I overheard the other server tell the cook that she didn't care, if I can't read the menu then that's my problem..... I held my tongue, and asked my BF to go pay for more parking because we had only paid for an hour 2:41 pm to be exact. I finally got my food 8 minutes before the hour expired 3:33Pm. Boyfriend's meal was finished by this time..... It was the right sandwich this time however they put it on the club roll which I didn't want..... I didn't bother complaining again as I just wanted to eat and get out of there. When we originally ordered I had told the girl I also wanted to order the Peach melba scone. She brought it out, it tasted ok, nothing wrong with it. I was however surprised when they brought the check and nothing had been done to make the experience better.. I work in food service and know that that is NOT how you keep repeat guests. They could have sent the manager/owner out to see me or even just taken my drink off the bill and I would have been happy. But nothing was offered and even though I normally would have asked to speak with the manager I just wanted to leave. Nothing about this experience went well for me and the food was mediocre at best. Cute and quaint, but high priced. I Don't mind paying high price for my food as long as it is quality food and great service. Not what I got here. read more
