I've come to the Trailside Cafe a few times over the past couple years. There's indoor seating and a few tables right outside. Between smoothies, juices, espresso drinks, bottled beverages, pastries, sandwiches, salads, and snacks, there's a lot of options to choose from. Today, I decided to try Justin's Smoothie, which was good. However, for almost $9, the prices are a little expensive. My sister had the tuna panini, which she liked and was priced more affordably. There aren't too many cafes in the area, so Trailside stands out by default. Aside from the prices, the quality of the food is always good, and I always stop by whenever I'm craving a smoothie. read more

I'm bummed to write such a "meh" review for a cute cafe like Trailside! Part of the reason our visit was so stressful was due to the lack of parking nearby. There's literally no street parking adjacent to the shop, and the neighboring building has a sign near the parking spaces that specifically say that you can't park there if you're going to Trailside Cafe at risk of being towed. Ooooookay. However, the Trailside Cafe itself is really nice! They serve up a variety of coffee and tea drinks, plus smoothies and a couple of lunch options in the form of soups, salads, and sandwiches. I was bummed that they didn't offer unsweetened iced tea, and only had the bottled kind with sugar, so I settled for a hot tea instead. I was delighted that Trailside carries Harney & Sons brand tea (my favorite), and even though a hot tea wasn't what I was expecting, it was still very good. My boyfriend was also pleased with his coffee. Trailside also offers a variety of pastries and baked goods, which looked tasty and would have been sampled if we weren't heading off to lunch plans right after. The cafe itself is small, but very comfortable and homey with ample seating and wall outlets, making it an ideal place to hang out and get work done. I also saw that they have a patio out back, which we'll be checking out next time. In the meantime, I hope they can figure out a way to make parking for patrons easier! My colleague and I needed a place for lunch and honestly there isnt much in Yorktown Heights. As we were trying to find a new place we stumbled on the Trailside Cafe. It has an interesting location where we weren't sure where to park but found a spot at a neighboring business. This is a small little cafe with an extension in the back that allows for more room. It is cozy and there is no table service so you order at the counter. The service is quick and most of the wraps/salads are premade fyi. I was a little confused on the concept. It seems like it is all over the place. They have frittata's, acai bowls, and other healthy items like salads. It doesnt seem like there is a set concept or specialty. They seemed like they were out of a lot of things or fazing them out. I understood why after eating the frittata. It wasn't the best I have had. The frittata was a hockey puck. It had ok flavor but nothing I would come back for. I also tried the tomato soup that had good tomato flavor but was a little grainy in texture. We sat in the back and enjoyed the extra space. It looks like they have some board games and other things to keep busy. In the end, this lunch wasnt bad but it wasn't anything I would come back for. read more

Delicious place to stop by for a quick bite or smoothie! They have more snacks, soups, salad. They also have the best smoothies in town. The only downside is they're pretty pricy so I can't go too often but when I do, I enjoy my smoothies a lot. Totally not the staff's fault (there must just be no system in place), but this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Especially when you take into consideration that the worker was an absolute sweetheart and works all alone and preps the food on her own with no assistance. The only reason I come to this place is because it's pretty much the ONLY organic/plant based/super food/whole food kitchen in the area. If another place like this opens around here with better service and more options, this place is in trouble.. The wait is always long. I moved to San Diego a year ago so come here when I visit and there is ALWAYS a long wait. Definitely not moving at a New York pace lol... I think the smoothies are phenomenal. Some of the other food items are ok. The prices are high because like I said, they have no competition.. yet. But also in general good quality food is going to be more $$. I love to say 5 stars but to many mishaps and overpriced times to make it there. The juices and smoothies are great and healthy but way overpriced even for Westchester. The one time I went for ice cream there both soft serve machines were broken. The location is prime for bicyclists and trail walkers to grab a drink. The outside seating is limited but nice. Disappointing. Poorly run, service is excruciatingly slow, and it's inordinately expensive to boot. It's a bunch of teens running the place...to the ground, unfortunately. I am rating based on my only visit so far, but I plan to come back! The person helping me said they had recently redone the inside of the cafe- it is small but stylish and beautiful. I had one of the fresh juices (the immunity one) a hot tea, and an acai bowl, all delicious. The acai bowl comes with 3 toppings of your choice which I thought was more than reasonable. Was looking for a good place to get a smoothie and decided to give this place a try (I'm visiting), walking into the place was so cute, love how they set it up. the people at the counter are really friendly. However the wait time is waayyyyyy too long. I ended up getting a smoothie and an acai bowl because I couldn't decide. The smoothie was really good but stay away from the acai bowls as they are not actual acai bowl I couldn't believe how watered down it was. Very unacceptable & not at all what it should taste/look like. Healthy snacks abound here with a little ice cream for the rest of us. A small ice cream shop & healthy food store tucked in a side street in Yorktown. They are supposed to moving around the corner onto Underhill Ave across from the parking lot for the North County Trailway, hence the name. Although I love the idea of this place, everytime I leave I wonder if I really just paid $8 for juice I can make at home. Here's the deal: Pros: LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. When I'm riding my bicycle on the north county trail there is no better/ more convenient stop than this. Everything is relatively healthy so you don't feel guilty after. My favorite juice is the Power House I think its called, it only comes in the small size because it's super strong but it's refreshing and energizing. This is my new weekend breakfast spot. I used to think like some that they are pricey but in all fairness when you really think about it, the smoothies are a little cheaper than Mrs. greens in mt kisco and fairly priced for the size. Yea you can get a smoothie from Panera for $5 but it's half the size and made from garbage purées that aren't even fresh. At least here you get a fresh full big sized smoothie that tastes good. This is a great stop along the North County Trail. They have amazing food that is geared specifically for cyclists. The service is friendly and reasonably quick. When I was there, they were a little bit overwhelmed but corrected some order errors with a very good and positive attitude. Absolutely a go to place on any bike trip in that area. read more

Unfortunately I have had to take back three of the 5 stars I originally gave. The wait is usually VERY LONG EVEN IF YOU CALL AHEAD. Even when I called ahead I had to wait 10 mins before they started making it which forced me to have to cancel my order. I have literally sat there and watched every person who ordered after me get served first. Some items are over priced. If you are a local and frequently come save your receipts for the "11th free drink" they offer because they don't add them to the system every time nor give you a card to punch so it is your word against theirs.. However, here is the original review before their customer service went to shit. I have literally tried something different and new every time I visit and have yet to eat/drink something I did not like. I love this place with its friendly staff! I highly recommend it. Finally somewhere to go to eat for clean eaters in Yorktown! They have a great selection of organic and non-gmo snacks smoothies and salads. I have been getting their green breakfast, every time! Also the parking lot is across the street, so don't let that stop you from getting yourself a quality healthy meal.
