The sandwiches were really good. Matcha latte and pastries were great too. Ice cream tasted a lot like coconut milk but I still liked it. Food was great. Unfortunately, the service was horrible. Very rude. There was a blonde lady making the sandwiches and she was super rude. We asked for 2 matcha lattes and they only gave us 1. I love this place. Been back like 3 times in one month! The ice cream and all the baked goods are amazing! Staff is pleasant, and a descent place to study. I do have a couple issues though, if you are going to study you need to be okay with low lighting. Second I wish the food options had non-vegan. I came here after dinner one night to get some ice cream with a friend. Unfortunately the organic ice creams were all sold out, but I wanted to try the vegan options anyways. I ordered the chocolate hazelnut and my friend got the mint chip. Both of these flavors were amazing. Even though they were vegan ice creams you would not have been able to tell if they weren't labeled as so. The chocolate hazelnut has hazelnut pieces inside and the cone it came it was great as well. Karma Cream is hands down one of my favorite cafes on this planet. I was going to school at UF but recently graduated/moved so I am still in search of a vegan bakery as good this Karma Cream. Some have come kinda close but this place is perfection. The baked goods are always so fresh and very light. Most vegan baked goods from other cafes are either dry or can be very heavy so it's hard to eat more than one item. They also have unique flavors almost everyday. There have been times I would be on campus and would see their new posts on instagram and make my boyfriend drive there to grab one for me, haha. Their coffee is great and their icecream is amazing. I'm not a huge icecream lover but theirs is very smooth/creamy and flavorful. I've never been completely vegan but was dairy-free for a while due to health reasons and everything tasted like their non-vegan counterparts. So many times I would try something and it would be so good, I just couldn't believe it could be vegan. The prices are great too. They have cheaper items in the $1-2 range but also in the standard $3-5 range so it's great if you want to be thrifty or splurge a little. They also have hot food which is delicious. You might have to wait a while for it because they need to prepare it but it's worth the wait. Best Items to try IMO: -Matcha tea latte with soy milk -Coffee cupcake -Cinnamon buns -Carrot Cake cookie sandwich -Any turnover/pastry-like items My only complaints are that the service was sometimes bad. This place is nothing but a dream for me. A vegan ice cream shop?!?! What!!!!!!! My husband and I found this place right after moving to Gainesville and I am so happy about it. We go and get their coconut milk ice cream sundaes and then to top it off they have a vegan how fudge! How can this get any better? The service that's how. To be honest decision making o we ice cream is not my strong suit. The servers are always patient with me and aren't bothered by my lack of knowing what I want. And always offer samples. I have been going to this coffee shop for over two years. Excellent service, quality food, and great atmosphere if coming to study or chat with a friend. Their vegan ice cream is delicious and all of their food items are vegan too. If you find yourself there before 1pm I highly suggest ordering their breakfast sandwich on a biscuit, it's delicious, you're welcome. Located in downtown Gainesville this is one of my favorite places to have coffee. It is a nice restaurant for coffee and bakery goods and the service is very nice in the coffee is delicious. If you are a vegetarian or vegan or have dietary restrictions they still have sweets that will comply with most people's food preferences and they're all very good. There's also free Wi-Fi. My sister and I got there at several minutes until 1pm, we had hurried in specifically for breakfast sandwiches. They took my sister's order for a breakfast sandwich and an extra sandwich for her boyfriend "to go", she took a moment and she also got a few danish. Next I ordered a breakfast sandwich and I was told "Sorry, we are not going to make any more of those, it just turned 1pm". I was stunned, I said "We are here together". I like it here but if the employees could lose the attitudes that would be nice. It's nice to have friendly employees to interact with. They also should really either restructure the way that they serve people or schedule more employees to work at a time because I've had experiences where I've gotten ice cream and then waited in line to pay for 15 minutes because no one was manning the register. It's a little unorganized. The new location is super nice, but still feels a little cramped if you're there during busy hours. Perks are that they sell kombucha on tap and have late hours if you are feeling the need to study late! The parking is unpredictable, but if you can get a street spot you're golden, just don't park behind KC because it's apartment parking! They have great ice cream options (dairy and non-dairy)--I had the Mexican chocolate last night and I'm STILL thinking about how good it is. They also have nice options for coffee; they serve Zeal Coffee Roasters. A big plus to this place is the amount of seating they have as well. I ordered the cold brew which was delicious and noticed there are tons of vegan sandwich options as well as ice cream made with organic dairy products. This place also has beer, baked goods, and kombucha. With a lot of indoor seating, WiFi, and even outdoor seating available it was a perfect spot for me to plop down and get some homework done. 10/10 would recommend, I only wish the cold brew was a larger size! Been here twice total since I've been in Gainesville and won't be back. The last time I stood in line with around 5 others for around 20 minutes (from order being taken to paying and leaving). However the deal breaker for me was that the person in front of me had her order taken, and then the employee taking orders proceeded to look me directly in the face knowing that I'd been in line, and then ask two girls behind me what they wanted. Is that a joke after waiting in line for that long? Then when another girl DID actually did bother to take my order (with me having to grab her attention, not with anyone having the decency to ask) I recieved nothing but attitude. No greeting, no "sorry for the wait", no other topping options were offered, no flavor or combo suggestions, nothing. It was an incredibly shitty customer service experience. Anyway. The lack of customer service and heightened prices for ice cream alternatives isn't worth future visits or any future patronage. There aren't many almond or cashew based ice creams for those of us that prefer almond based creams over coconut. And the Coconut Bliss brand that they offer is sold in stores for a cheaper price per pint. There are too many varieties of ice cream alternatives available at grocery stores and too many other cafes around Gainesville that make Karma Kream forgettable. read more
