They did not honor the check in on Yelp promo. The staff said she would check and let us know but she never let us know till it was time to pay the bill and the check in discount was not given. Disappointing but I wished the staff could have communicated better on that. I had the lamb Briyani and it was ok. It was mostly bones for the lamb. Second disappointment. The portion was big, good for those who have a hearty appetite. The palak paneer was pretty good. It came with a choice of rice or naan. The naan was the star for me. It was not oily and was very tasty for such a plain naan. The place was quite stuffy as it was a hot day and it didn't seem like they have turned on the ac. Parking is available on the street and side roads.

Amazing food and very attentive service. Everyone got the karahi dish and we had it with chicken. Skip the beef kabob, waste of $18

Really good Pakistani place. Not too many places with this type of food around. Parking is available on Victoria, as well as the side streets. The inside is quite plain, and looked a bit beaten up. Not sure why they skipped a wall when painting the interior black. Staff were friendly and helpful. No complaints. Friends and I weren't sure what to try. The staff recommended their karahi (signature dish). We tried both their chicken and lamb. FYI a karahi is the deep style wok the food is cooked in. When the food arrived, we weren't sure if it would be enough to feed the 4 of us. However, the food was surprisingly filling. All of us left happy. I'm not sure if the staff chose the sauces for us, but the chicken dish was made with more tomato, while the lamb dish was made with more black pepper. Both were very tasty. As for drinks, this place does not serve alcohol. Some of their drinks did look like bottled beer, but no, it's not beer. Barbican is non alcoholic. Friends and I agreed we would all gladly come back. Recommended.

Food was super tasty! Fish pakoras are a 10/10 - so good. Beef kabob was a bit dry but the flavour and chutneys were really good. Nihari could use a bit more meat though. Overall I'd definitely come back!

Best Pakistani food you can get in the Greater Vancouver area. Their karahi is authentic and highlight of the restaurant. Biryani and bbq are amazing food options!

Pakistani cuisines Same location but previously Tiveste Lebanese restaurant. One plus point is the place opens until 2 am. Pretty big place, not well lighted inside then the hard menu is dark colors too so kinda hard to read foods from the menu. Accept credit, debit and cash. Parking is another problem in here. Same as before there's a mat on the floor going to their kitchen from the entrance, personally this is safety issue because not only me but 3 other clients almost trip.. Previous restaurant's problem is thesame also the floor like before is slippery..same condition up to present. Serves authentic Pakistani/Indian and middle Eastern cuisine, excellent service and really very good food. We ordered Butter chicken with naan-super delish we dipped the warm naan into the chicken sauce and holy moly flavors is very rich We had the chicken biryani balanced with spices and meat and rice were cooked perfectly. For my self I tried the Beef Bhutan well it was new to me so I ordered it,tender meat with bones it comes with palao rice..no single complaint it was excellent aswell, we came late so no more sweets after dinner. Pricing I believed is just right. Noise level is average,by the way thaks YELP for my 10% discount for checking in first time. Excellent food with good service whatelse can you ask for... I highly recommend this place specially for those whose hungry after midnight. Surely I will visit again

Came here for dinner with a couple of friends. When we were seated one friend was complaining about how slippery (oily) the floor was under our table. We were sat at a booth by the window, the window sill was not very clean, had some debris (food) and stuff on it as did the floor. They do not serve alcohol here so we had water. It came luke warm. I ordered the lamb curry, it was very tender and nicely seasoned but not spicy at all. (The server never asked for spice level). Didn't really pay attention to what my friends ordered. The service was ok. When you are done you pay at the front counter which is kinda weird since they have table service. Overall, it was not bad, the food and service was ok, the place is a bit rundown and could be a bit cleaner. I believe there is a small parking lot in the back but not sure. There is lots of street parking.........

So happy this restaurant is one of the few open very late! Their food items was a wide abundance of different curries so we opt for the chicken karahi. Very very delish! Service was quick and efficient, very kind as well! Thank you so much for your services!

Quickly seated and tended to by the staff. Interior is more of a diner scene than nice cafe. Bathrooms are gender neutral and clean but not nice. Here's my three things: 1) I got a lunch special featuring fish peckora, and tandoor chicken. Good flavor but missed on the real spice flavors. Veg salad was sour and worked with the rest of the plate. 2) These folks can make some NAAN! The Naan stole the show. Sweet, salty and crisp. 3) Price wise you can fill up and have a drink for $25-30CAN.

Definitely try to go at opening or when it is not busy, as the dine-in experience is memorable - they place your order in a long wooden board to make it a beautiful spread. We got the Manoush'eh Special which has ground beef, pomegranate, etc and Sham Style which is shaped like a boat. We also tried the yogurt drink which pairs well with the dishes. The only con is that this place does not have free water, but it is no problem to have our own water bottles supplementing the meal. We also got the lentil soup which is pretty good. Definitely sufficient to share one to try, but the Manoush'eh outshines the rest of the items. I loved the quality and texture of the Manoush'eh and just the breads in general. It is a lot of food for 2 people so if you want a snack, you can definitely just share 1. Some people go here for the wraps too. Overall, an affordable restaurant with good food. We got the most expensive items and it was less than 50 CAD all-in, but a lot of the items are around the 10 CAD mark.

Saba had been recommended to me by a colleague a day before when I was visiting Vancouver BC to teach a class. His recommendation was the Lamb Haneeth that was a lamb shoulder that was slow cooked underground in pots for 8 hrs so that the lamb fell off the bone and just melts in your mouth. It sits on top of a bed of flavored rice from the slow roasted juices of the lamb. Wow, just describing it makes me wanna go back as soon as I can to have it again! We also got the Flat Bread that was baked in a flame oven with melted butter . It was so crispy but chewy and lite.. SOO GOOD! The interior of the restaurant was also very nicely decorated. I do think Saba Foods is fancier than other places I've been to while exploring new cuisines and I personally prefer a more casual dining experience. As for the food, the portion sizes were very generous (though I did see other diners ordering individually). I shared the haneeth and saltah with a friend as well as got the kunafa and bint al sahen for dessert. The lamb was very tender and fell off the bone and the saltah came in a bubbling pot. I think the presentation of each dish was beautiful and was representative of its quality. My favourite dish was definitely the haneeth; it had a good combination of meat, rice, and vegetables. My reason for the missing star would be price point (total came around to $55 per person) as well as flavour as I'm used to having very flavorful dishes from other cuisines. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who hasn't tried Yemeni food before though!

There is parking in the building but when we visited, the entrance to it was not working. 3. Reservations are highly recommended for weekends to be seated inside which is very chic and upscale. 4.
