Pita and raw onion
Jonny M.

After hiking for a few hours, we were ready for a late lunch. The place we wanted to try was randomly closed so we ventured across the street to Mehman Restaurant. They're nestled in between Krua Thai Restaurant and a Red Burrito branch. We dropped in on a Sunday afternoon (around 2:30pm) and it was slightly busy for the random time. Service is a touch slow but friendly. Menu consists of appetizers, kebobs, combo and stews. They also have some very reasonably priced, pickup only weekday specials ($11.99 to $12.99, from 11:30am to 4:30pm). - Pita - they bring a basket of pita and raw onions to the table. - Combo ($38.99) - choopan kebob (lamb shoulder chops), chicken wings and koobideh kebob (two skewers of ground beef). This option easily feeds three people. It comes with three plates of steamed rice, grilled tomatoes and pepperoncini peppers. All the meats were excellently charred and tender. The chicken wings (a mix of wings and drumsticks) were incredibly juicy. The choopan kebob wasn't gamey but retained a good bite/pull to it. The koobideh kebob was the richest of the meats. Wish they offered some vegetables/salads as an alternative to all that rice. Mehman excels in the meat department but would appreciate if they offered some balance. 3.5 stars.

I ordered the lamb and beef plate (forgot the name on the menu) and it was delicious. The beef was definitely more tender than the lamb and although the lamb was still good, I would order the beef again. The eggplant spread or dip was smokey, tangy and just devine. I'm not sure if I enjoyed the beef or the dip more. Food coma is kicking in since I've stuffed myself silly, but so worth it.

This could have been a great place if they had some good servers working in. The ambience is neat and updated with chandeliers and mirrors over walls. We were seated immediately after we went in. Next came the server who did not know anything about the menu. Not good! We kept asking her questions regarding the ingredients going into the dish, but all she could answer is I don't know. Not even like, I will ask and let you know. Disappointed! So, I ordered quaboli pulao, which I though was delicious. Basmati rice and chicken kabob at the base with raisins, nuts and carrots at the top. I loved it. Others in my group had different dishes which they didn't like it much. OverAll not a bad place but could be great with a decent service. PS- The server did not even ask for water or hand over any silverware to eat.

Wtf is this? This is the second time I order tahdig, with stew, frist of all I want bread tahdig (crispy bread) not burnt out dry rice. Even rice tahdig! Ok ok, why its soooo old and it's like a rubber in mouth! U gave me two times crispy rice (very old) because it was so chewy and soft. Waste of money. And stews I ordered has no meat at all. 5.99 x 2 =13.98plus tax I want my money back! Qabuli polo was very cold, inside the lamb shank was as cold as fridge

Viziri with half shirazi salad

Virizi is my go to order. The chicken was extremely juicy and seasoned perfectly. The kebedeh was tender and juicy as well. The viziri salad was also seasoned well. The only thing that I would suggest improvements on would be the rice it was a bit soggier then what I'm use to from other places. Overall experience was nice the service was friendly. Restaurant was properly lit and food tasted great

Don't forget to check in for a free can of pop

I usually go to Cazba for my Persian food fix. However, I have been venturing to other restaurants to see what is out there to offer once in awhile. This used to be another Persian restaurant. They have kept very much the same decor from the previous owners. My date and I shared a couple items. We ordered the chenjeh soltani (tenderized beef and ground beef skewers), mirza ghasemi (oven baked eggplant, mint and garlic dip) with pita. Also, I ordered a doogh (salty yogurt drink) and a free can of pop with Yelp perk check in. The food was really good. I would say the skewers and doogh tasted a bit better than Cazba's version. The skewers were nicely grilled and seasoned. The doogh was more herby. The eggplant dip was alright. Service was fast. No complaints there. Parking in the area can be very challenging at times.

I don't recommend this restaurant. The koobideh kabob was very fatty and low quality meat. The appetizers were good.

We ordered a kebab meat platter and it definitely delivers on portion size. The standout for me was the grilled meats, especially the lamb chops and chicken kebabs. They were well-seasoned, nicely charred, and not dry (which is where a lot of places miss the mark). The rice was fragrant and paired well with everything, though pretty standard. Service was good. The atmosphere leans traditional and a bit dated, but it fits the vibe of the place. Overall: worth going for if you're craving grilled meats and a filling meal, just don't expect anything particularly refined. It's about comfort food and generous portions.

This was my first time visiting the restaurant, and the food and service were both excellent. Looking forward to my next return. My friend and I decided the Horseman Specialty Platter which serves 2 people. We started with the Humous (yellow split pea), Sabzi Mast (spinach & yogurt dip), pita bread and a salad with cucumbers, red onions, tomatoes and feta cheese. The platter was filled with a delicious rice, baked eggplant, potatoes and 3 meats (chicken kebab, Lamb Shish Kebab, Lamb Shoulder Chop). We couldn't finish as there was so much food, so took some home. We finished with Pistachio Ice Cream (pistachio, saffron & rosewater) and it was rich and delicate and a perfect ending. Once of the best I had in town. Décor is tradition and relaxing. You can ask for the traditional floor seating or table. Reservation recommended but was can early and they were able to accommodate us. Free mall complex parking but ensure you register. Many metered parking on the streets within 2-3 block radius. The #50 bus stopped right in front of the restaurant.

No other concern other than the road noise. We were a party of three - 2 adults and one 5-year old toddler. We ordered 4 things - 1. Mantu - very good but expensive for 4 dumplings 2, Chicken Shami Kebab - Comes with super soft buttery naan bread, Melt in the mouth kebabs and possibly the best kebab of my life. My son loved it and primarily ate most of it. 3. Uzbeki Palaw - Very good but the rice to meat ratio could be disappointing. 4. One cocktail and it was very good, very ethnically inspired. Everything was amazing. Portion sizes are small and we finished everything. Our server was so warm and advised visiting during brunch hours the next time to enjoy more kebabs given we likes it the best. Other tips! 1. Service is fairly quick. We were in and out within the hour. 2. There is street parking but finding a spot may still be challenging at any point. There is parking in the building but when we visited, the entrance to it was not working. 3. Reservations are highly recommended for weekends to be seated inside which is very chic and upscale. 4. Menu is pretty kid friendly food and none of the food was remotely spicy.

I don't think there was a single dish that we didn't like. My favorite was the lamb. It was so tender and paired with the pickles was great contrast. Some other favorites from our group was the fried Chicken, mandu, and the corn bread. The daily butter was fantastic. Finally, we got the vegan chocolate mousse, and we expected it to be kind of small but it was shareable between three people and it was delicious. Overall great experience! I would definitely come back and try the other menu items.

There's a fast-food vibe ambience but the food isn't quick; I waited about 20 minutes for my food after I placed my order on the touchscreen at the counter. I'm not sure it was worth the wait. I got the "Chicken Bites Pile Rice" which was comprised of several crisp pieces of fried chicken thigh meat over rice strewn with radish, shrettuce, and julienned egg omelette. That in itself was fine - however the spicy mayo topping was excessive. It liberally covered the chicken plus there were generous lashings of the mayo underneath it. I tried scraping it off with a wooden spoon with limited success. "Medium" level of spice worked well for me. If there's a next time, I'd order it with the sauce on the side.

The fried chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and lightly battered for the perfect crunch. It also reminds me of Korean fried chicken. I went with the non-spicy and mild levels, and both were packed with flavor. The BBQ pulled chicken was especially impressive. It's so tender and flavorful it honestly reminded me of pulled pork.
