    Chicken burger and fries

I had walked by Frying Pan Express several times before, intrigued by the menu, but never bothered trying it until recently. I ordered a chicken burger with fries and a drink, and loved it! The chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the fries were freshly made. The restaurant had lots of seats inside and friendly staff as well.

Good thing I came in early morning I dodged the busy rush like a pro! The staff were super friendly, all smiles and good vibes, which made the visit even better. I ordered the spicy chicken and waffles, and honestly, I think I fell a little in love. The chicken had that perfect crunch and kick, and the waffles were so fluffy they could've floated off the plate. The sweet butter it came with? Dangerous. I could've eaten a whole tub of that stuff. All in all, totally worth the stop and maybe even worth battling the morning crowd next time!

chicken and waffles + chicken tenders + lemonade

10/10 recommend every time, i go to frying pan a fair amount and they haven't seemed to screw up once. Every time i go there it leaves me wanting more, half the time i go i cant even finish my food just because of the sheer amount the give you. Some people say its over priced but for 30 bucks you can get a huge platter of fries that you can never fully finish + food that always fills you to the brim and a lemonade, im just saying if i wanna get extremely full without going and blowing all my money i go frying pan and its so good everytime. service is also great they are always attentive to your needs and extra sauce and other stuff is always free!

Finally got to try this spot and was immediately impressed with the customer service. It seemed like the owner, but whoever it may be, they were extremely helpful to the guests infront of us and patient with us as it was our first time there - helpful and accommodating with choices as well! The chicken was hot, crispy and extremely well seasoned, so flavourful! I would definitely recommend the chicken bites (juiciest thigh meat ever). Having options for spice is also super nice, the hot is the perfect amount of heat and so well balanced with flavour. Strips were great too! Only negatives I would say is that the menu is pretty small and the coleslaw was a bit soggy. Extra note: they have beer on tap!

If you like fried chicken then you have to checkout Frying Pan Express in North Vancouver. They are serving up delicious chicken & waffles , fried chicken (thigh and fillets), and sandwich. You get to choose your spice level: zero, mild, medium, hot, or fire We ordered: Waffle & Chicken Bites $14.40 Boneless Chicken Bites $14.40 Tender Strips $13.70 French fries $4.50 Their Special Lemonade $7.50 I took a bite of everything but my order was the waffle & chicken bites (mild) and it was absolutely delicious when paired with the maple syrup. It also came with a side of butter which was on the sweeter side but surprisingly delicious Food 5/5 Service Parking 5/5 (free street parking) Seating availability 5/5 (most people get takeout so there's usually plenty of seating)

We just arrived in Vancouver late the night before so this was our first dinner outing. We wanted something close to our airbnb so we could experience the wonderful views. The walk was definitely an adventure but the food was work the tedious climb!! Once we arrived there was only one other patron in the restaurant. We were greeted and shown a menu at the counter with photos. We had already looked on Yelp so we did not need to look again. We ordered a chicken thigh sandwich (no spice) with sweet potato fries, a chicken sandwich (hot spice level) with regular fries, chicken bites and waffles, a lemonade, an orangeade, and 2 banana shakes. Everything was wonderful!! The chicken bites were made up thigh meat and incredible seasoning! The waffles were soft and not soggy! The honey butter was amazing along with the "spicy" sauce for the bites. The spicy sauce had enough kick to let you know it's there but nothing overwhelming! This place is a must try and we will visit again before our departure. Hopefully we will get better photos

Clockwise from upper left corner: chicken bites pile rice, bulgogi bowl, pulled chicken poutine, chicken and waffles

This is my new favorite halal restaurant in Vancouver. We got chicken bite, chicken and waffles, pulled chicken poutine and bulgogi bowl... that's right, they sell bulgogi too. I wasn't really expecting it, but it was good. However, the star of the show was the pulled chicken poutine! I definitely recommend this place, especially if you only eat halal meat.

Pulled BBQ chicken poutine and lemonades :)

The lighting isn't the best, as the staff mostly rely on the large entrance window for natural light. Service Quality The staff was kind and friendly. They are more than happy to help you choose a sandwich if it's your first time. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Menu Variety Their sandwich selection is excellent, and the bread is particularly noteworthy. They also offer a couple of iced tea options, which is a nice alternative to water. Food Presentation If you're dining in, your sandwich will be served in a plastic basket lined with wax paper. For takeout, it's wrapped in the same wax paper. Food Taste and Quality I ordered the Spicy Italian, which had just the right amount of heat. It was generously loaded with greens, and the multigrain bread was fresh, likely baked that morning. Portion Sizes The portions are substantial. I was only able to finish half of my sandwich for lunch. Price and Value The sandwich cost about $15, which is on the pricier side. It would have been nice to see it priced around $12. Overall Experience and Recommendation If you're in the area or heading to Horseshoe Bay to catch a ferry, definitely stop by S'wich for a sandwich. I will definitely be returning to try other options on the menu.

Make sure you try the lobster bisque as it's one of the meatiest I've had to date; full of that shellfish flavour. The French onion soup is an eye catcher but the broth could use a bit more richness and flavour. Beef bourignon was suggested and I'm glad I took the friendly waitress' recommendation as it was a warm hug on a deep plate. I'd opt to swap for roasted potatoes instead of the mash but the mash does soak up all that delicious stew. The jambalaya is full of different proteins and if you're a fan of that, then I'd make sure to eat this perfectly cooked rice dish. I finished off with a banana bread pudding which was exactly that, banana bread in that bread pudding form; Personally I was hoping for bread pudding that was banana flavoured but it was still ooey gooey goodness. Burgoo should be packed to the brim with this menu for these prices and the friendliness of the staff!

We must like it, we even bought their cookbook to try some of the recipes, especially the Fondumental, which dragged us back there again and again. It wasn't nearly as plentiful or as yummy as we remembered it, but it's still good. The sandwiches and soups have always been rib sticking and tasty. The ambiance has remained the same over the years, a little dark, but the fireplace and the vintage posters are cool. Our server Gary was excellent, Johnny on the spot with all that we were looking for. Their wine and beer is all local, which is a thing these days. My lobster bisque with the FAB salad hit the spot, and the bread piece was exceptional. The lovely K had the onion soup which she liked although said it could use a little more salt. If you want to enjoy a hearty meal on the North Shore down by the water, but not on the water, give it a try, you will not be disappointed!
