    Grilled Bacon & Cheese

Cute place with a lot of interesting options. We came here on a Sunday at 10am. It was full but not crowded. We were able to find refuge on the couches. It was very comfortable, the couch you almost melt into and the chair was deep, like a warm hug For food I indulged in their bacon and egg Bfast wrap. Very odd but I was happy they were not pretending to make Bfast burritos (that is a sin). My partner got a jalepeno and cheese bagel with sausage / egg. He enjoyed it. My child got the plain bagel with plain cream cheese. Considering it took 20 minutes to get the food I expected to not have to put the cream cheese on the bagel myself. Overall the food was average to below average, esp for the quality being pumped out at local Cafes.

I got the iced coffee, and it was extremely smooth and delicious. Cute place in the neighborhood with lots of interesting wall art! Highly recommend No outside food or drink of course!

A cool coffee shop parallel to Wells St. in Old Town. The coffee is fantastic, but it's definitely not set up as a spot to hunker down and get work done. The counter is down the hallway in the back and there are chairs and low/high tables about. However the staff was nice enough, explaining the options available. We tried the Mocha Latte and Dulce de Leche Latte, both iced. The coffee was really good, a little on the pricier end.

An out of this world Nutella latte that beats any chain coffee shop! And a great bagel sandwich that were both so reasonable in price.

    Service with a smile.

Small understaffed coffee joint that was down the street from our Airbnb Great welcoming and selection of coffees, bagels and teas. Dogs are welcome and given a treat if you ask. Keep up the great service!

Such a cool spot. I liked the variety of seating here - very enjoyable to sit and read a book or catch up with a friend. Very local feel & staff were very kind! They have a huge variety of food options which is nice and very reasonable prices. I got a cappuccino which was delicious, and I went back from the turkey sandwich which was perfectly simple and fresh!

The nicest staff, most delicious iced coffee I've had since moving down to Chicago. Such a cozy space with great decor and fast WiFi. Will be returning for sure!

Came to this not as well known coffee place and was impressed. It looked like it may just be not that much of an atmosphere but I actually was wrong about it as it turned out. Kapej is located close to the Sedgwick station on the Brown Line, so it's convenient to get to by public transportation. Kind of a basic menu but it was better than expected. There's coffee and bagels along with some breakfast sandwiches. An unassuming place is what you call it. It just so happened that I was going on by, and I would never have known about this place. This was just by luck and so I gave it a try. From the outside, it looks like a convenience store. On the inside it's better though. It's about $2 for a regular coffee. There's some non dairy milks. It's about $2 for a bagel. One bad thing is there's not a huge amount of spreads to choose from. I got it with peanut butter. There was a dusting of sugar on top. Bagel was toasted not too crispy. The peanut butter was gooey and hot. Good enough to try again. It's a pretty quiet and simple place. There's the main things like coffee and bagels, and the prices are pretty good for these.

Owner was super nice and friendly!! came here close to them closing and wasn't rushed at all to make a choice and he even brought my dog a pup cup. ambiance is so cozy with nice lighting and good seating for all areas, much larger space than you would think before walking in. will be coming here a lot now that we live in the area

Stumbled upon this shop by accident, but I am so glad I did! It was a very nice, quiet, environment. Many different seating options, including high tops, couches, and smaller bistro tables. The chai latte I got was one of the best I have ever had. The avocado BLT sandwich was so yummy, and so filling with all of the veggies included. A reasonable price for what I received. If you are ordering food, be ready to wait a bit, but as I mentioned, very worth it. All the staff were very nice.

I would give this place a 10 star if I could. The food is amazing the coffee is to die for! They offer a variety of iced and hot coffee. I got the bacon egg and cheese and my partner got the avocado BLT. Very well portioned sandwich's. The staff overall was amazing and nice and explained the menu well. Service overall 10 out of 10. As for the ambiance was very comfortable and had a homey like feel. I would definitely highly recommend stopping by just for a coffee or muffin. Very quiet and nice place to get some studying or work done.

Like why would you put the wax paper OVER the aluminum? Slow asf

I love this coffee shop, the coffees great and the owner is always friendly however today im guessing they have a new employee, a young female with black hair, gave nothing but bad energy while I was ordering my coffee and sandwich. Then when I received my food it wasn't wrapped correctly, it was a mess and it wasn't put together well at all. I always order from this place because it's across the street from my house but this experience has solidified that I will NOT be back. Dunkin on the corner has better service, & I'd fire her too if I owned that place before she fcks up the whole business.

We started with a mocha, a solid, well-balanced drink that wasn't overly sweet and was just perfect. We didn't plan on eating here, but the menu was way too tempting. We ordered the cinnamon roll, and wow. This was insanely good. Most cinnamon rolls in the U.S. feel like sugar-heavy, cinnamon-flavored buns, but this one was light, flavorful, and beautifully made. The irimshik on top really elevated it, subtle, warm, and just sweet enough. Easy 10/10. Next was the cottage cheese pancake, which was also very good. It had a generous amount of cottage cheese stuffed inside, and paired with the sweet irimshik dip, the dish came together really well. 9/10. We then tried the qattama. It was good. flaky, crispy, and reminded me of a paratha. It came with a sour irimshik dip. While each component was good, I felt the qattama would shine more with a gravy-based dish. 7/10. Finally, we ordered the Nan Salma pasta. It's a tarry-based white sauce pasta with a unique flavor profile, and it was genuinely yum. Definitely something different and worth trying. Highly recommend it. 8/10. You have space to sit down and work as well. Service was good too. Some of the dishes might take 7-10mins to get prepared. It's not like your daily coffee shop who have stuff ready to go Overall, a great spot with unique food and a welcoming vibe. Definitely coming back. 9/10

Hella busy, the staff was semi-helpful while I was trying to decide what to order--not rude, just not super engaging either. Despite how packed it was, I was able to take a meeting without too much trouble--shoutout to my noise-canceling headphones, because they were doing the heavy lifting. The space itself is on the smaller side, so if you're planning to camp out for a while, just know it can feel tight. The bathroom could've used a little attention. Nothing major, and maybe expected with a lot of people. Overall, it's a decent stop if you need coffee and a place to sit for a bit, especially in a pinch. Too Good To Go is a program that allows businesses to sell left over food at the end of the day on discount, avoiding food waste. For lunch I had an Americano, the vegetarian egg sandwich and a Margherita Bistro, which is like a cross between a margherita pizza slice but in a latticed pastry. Both the Americano and egg sandwich were actually excellent, while the Margherita Bistro was less noteworthy but fine. Actually when I looked up Margherita Bistro, wanting to learn if it's a common thing and it turns out that it's made by a food service company (Bridor, owned by French Groupe Leduff which supplies baked goods to cafés all over Europe). I got two cake slices later in my Too Good To Go order. The strawberry cheesecake (Monteressa cheese cake, made with marscapone, ricotta and fresh strawberries) was delicious while the carrot cake was not as good but still fine. It turns out that the Monteressa cheesecake is made by another big supply company (Bindi) that supplies Italian desserts. Coffee appears to be from Illy. I'd definitely recommend Café Crèmerie for their good coffee, excellent egg sandwich, and nice atmosphere. I'm also giving Café Crèmerie 4/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, based on the following: * First I'll get into the mediocre aspects and then some positive points. * Coffee is from Illy, which I would say is slightly better than average for a major coffee company. It's a certified B Corporation but it not known for organic or fair trade coffee (they do a kind of direct trade). * Many of the pastries are mass-produced by companies that supply European or European-style cafes. Like Illy, these suppliers are perhaps slightly better than average: Bridor mentions using cage-free eggs while Bindi uses renewable energy. * A lot of the menu is suitable for vegetarians and I appreciate that there's no sign of beef on the menu (the single food product that drives around 10% of climate change). Would be nice to see more vegan options. * Café Crèmerie does a nice job at avoiding waste generation. Ceramic cups are available for coffee and food is served on trays with a paper liner. * I also appreciate that Café Crèmerie takes part in the Too Good To Go program, avoiding food waste.
