I would not recommend. Their menu doesn't reflect current prices they have. I tried to get a sandwich and drink combo (the price was listded on the physical menu, the menu on the screen, and on their website) and they told me that was wrong and would not honor that price. The combo was supposed to make an iced coffee be $3.50, instead of $7. Which is a pretty big price jump! I opted out of the coffee when i was told this. I got the sandwich and it was underwhelming. They give you a decent size but the chicken I had was not good. They also messed up my friends orders. They forgot to heat up the sandwhich as she asked for it and they forgot to give my friend her drink. They did fix these errors but very annoying to deal with. Now onto the inside. The chairs in the private room were so gross. They need to be cleaned so badly. There is limited space to work in there too. The WiFi is slow and barely works. Employees were nice.! read more

Such a cute corner cafe, it was definitely busy because of the Chicago Marathon but you don't have to wait in line because there's a kiosk. It's pretty big inside despite where it's located on the street. The snack wrap was $6 and was small so I was a little surprised but the vanilla soft serve latte was absolutely amazing! The banana bread latte is easily one of the best specialty coffees I've had. They infuse banana directly into the nitro cold brew and finish it with oat milk, so the flavor tastes much more natural than overly sweet banana syrups. The bagels are also excellent and easily among my favorites in the city. I wasn't as impressed by the espresso drinks, but plenty of seating, natural lighting, and great service! read more

We stopped in at Cals for some coffee after our workout down the street. It was a very popular spot on a Saturday morning. Their coffee was delicious and had great flavor. A nice coffee spot in Old Town located on the corner Wells and Division. The place itself isn't that big, they have several tables and a private room, which is interesting. They do have restrooms as well which is nice. The counter where you order does get a little crowded because, but the staff move quickly to complete orders. I ordered The Oli and Donut. The coffee was pretty good and would probably get it again. They seem to be known for breakfast and I do regret not grabbing something more substantial than a Donut. read more

It was exactly 13 minutes, as I received my receipt via text at 12:37 and immediately texted my coworker that I was returning when I received my order at 12:50. I was in the mood for a healthy brunch and stumbled upon Cal's corner. I was slightly put off by the smell when I walked in since it smelled like burnt paninis. Regardless, I decided to give it a try. I went with just a green smoothie which blew my mind as it was $12! It was practically the same price as the smoothie bowl which actually comes with toppings. I was baffled at how expensive it was. Although it did taste good and made me feel better after a long night out, I probably wouldn't buy it again because of the price. My friend had the salmon toast and matcha which they enjoyed. As I walked out, an employee gave me a farewell which I appreciated. I requested it with no coconut flakes and added chia seeds instead for $1. It was a pretty solid acai bowl. A tad on the expensive side for breakfast, but I think the ingredients they use are probably quite fresh and good quality, so it's fairly reasonable. The portion itself is pretty generous actually. If you're not that hungry, you could probably split with someone. The toppings were all nice and the açaí definitely came through with the flavor. This is a great addition to the neighborhood. I am a huge fan of the acai bowls: good amount of fruit, not too sweet, just the way I like it! Regular coffee if good, some of the specialty coffees are excellent. My family is also a fan of the breakfast sandwiches and donuts. read more

Good Morning Today April 22...I will still give Cal's a 5 star but 4 today...I'm not sure if the Young man this morning today doesn't understand how to make a latte but I was excited to go get my favorite today...Got my drink walking and cup seem to start feeling empty than usual...I open the cup and half latte and half form lots of foam...I purchase a large and received almost nothing...ummm just talk to the young working today to be consistent...The latte amount was so low I couldn't believe it kept shaking the cup...I was disappointed and went spent more money at another local coffee shop...I'll be back another but this only one time something like this happened...Young man needs a little talking too about how to prepare drinks I was so surprised... read more

Weak flavorless drip coffee, waited 15 minutes for a bagel, 15 min!!! It wasn't even busy. By the time i got my bagel that was supposed to be toasted it was almost ice cold, which tells me it's been sitting in the back for 10+ minutes. Even when the shop is extremely busy, it doesn't go unnoticed that you check in and have a great attitude. To be expected with any menu with variety, some food items are better than others, but what I really have to shoutout is the açaí bowls. These are some of the best I've had in Chicago, and the perfect texture. Exactly what we needed on this street! The protein shakes are also 10/10 with vegan options. I loved the set up of the couches, lounge chairs, and small tables for two. There seemed to also have a separate small space like a study area which is awesome. They have a variety of options for coffees, juices, and smoothies. I also feel like they have a great menu of smoothie bowls, toasts, and sandwiches. My boyfriend and I ordered a variety of drinks for our friends and got a lavender latte, caramel latte, flat white, and Christmas tree matcha. My boyfriend and I got food too. It did take a while for us to get our entire order because it was super busy with others waiting as well. It was our first time coming to Cal's and we were genuinely impressed. There aren't many places in the area to get protein shakes or smoothies so we decided to stop by after the gym. The cookies and cream shake was delicious. Only a slight hint of that protein-y taste but wasn't bad. The breakfast sandwich was hot and freshly made.
