    Horchata Cold Brew
    Inna Y.

This place is right by SoulCycle and Bunda so I've been meaning to try it for a while. I got the horchata cold brew with a splash of milk. I can't particularly taste the horchata but I like it and I'll order it again. Service was quick. I was surprised the staff handed me my drink at my table instead of just calling out my name. Place is small but there are a few tables and even a small private room for meetings.

I had a cortado with vanilla syrup (they didn't have hazelnut ). It was alright but not a super strong espresso flavor. My bf got the sausage roll and it just wasn't super flavorful. Inside is cute though & it looks like they are going through some renovations.

A nice coffee spot in Old Town located on the corner Wells and Division. The place itself isn't that big, they have several tables and a private room, which is interesting. They do have restrooms as well which is nice. The counter where you order does get a little crowded because, but the staff move quickly to complete orders. I ordered The Oli and Donut. The coffee was pretty good and would probably get it again. They seem to be known for breakfast and I do regret not grabbing something more substantial than a Donut.

Stopped in with friends on a Saturday morning after the farmers market. Busy but not a long wait for food! Music was a little loud but manageable. I ordered the açaí bowl and it was amazing! So flavorful and fresh. Exactly what my friends and I needed on a Saturday morning. Highly recommend!!

Very cute shop - I actually was walking in the wrong direction for breakfast and had to quickly find a another place to eat. This popped up and it was freshly hot. The cafe itself is minimal and clean. Service was quick. My husband and I ordered the Cal's brekkie sandwich to share, along with a bowl of acai smoothie bowl. Both satisfying for our morning stroll.

Wanted to like this place but despite the cafe being pretty empty I ended up waiting 15 minutes for drip coffee and a very basic cold sandwich on a roll that was moldy. I don't plan to come back at this time. UPDATE (after reply below): 1. They did indeed refund my order. Thank you. Not every place would do that and I appreciate it. 2. It was exactly 13 minutes, as I received my receipt via text at 12:37 and immediately texted my coworker that I was returning when I received my order at 12:50. I shouldn't have rounded up to 15 in my original post. And I understand that you had app orders, I just didn't see anyone picking up, perhaps that's in another location? 3. The bread indeed had mold in two spots as you can see from the pictures attached. I apologize, but I typically try to leave only positive reviews and I'm not sure what "you agreed" means?

    Green Out

I was in the mood for a healthy brunch and stumbled upon Cal's corner. I was slightly put off by the smell when I walked in since it smelled like burnt paninis. Regardless, I decided to give it a try. I went with just a green smoothie which blew my mind as it was $12! It was practically the same price as the smoothie bowl which actually comes with toppings. I was baffled at how expensive it was. Although it did taste good and made me feel better after a long night out, I probably wouldn't buy it again because of the price. My friend had the salmon toast and matcha which they enjoyed. As I walked out, an employee gave me a farewell which I appreciated. The food is good and service is quick but it is definitely a once in a while treat for the more frugal folks.

Stopped by for breakfast to go on a weekday morning. Restaurant was clean and vibrant. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and quick. I had an Italian sausage, egg and cheese on an everything bagel with an iced coffee. Both were well done and the breakfast sandwich was flavorful. Parking can be tough but worth a visit.

Cal's Corner is a great addition to the neighborhood! I stopped in on a Sunday morning and even got to meet Cal himself! The iced latte was good and they were very quick in making it. As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to see Beyond Sausage on the breakfast sandwich menu! I had a delicious Sausage, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. Cal and the staff were super nice and friendly. The space was very bright and clean. The bathroom was spotless!

They have Cafe type items but I got a cookies and cream shake and it's delicious! I'll definitely be back.

    Açaí bowl

Pretty solid spot to get breakfast, especially fruit-based things like smoothies or smoothie bowls. I was interested in getting an açaí bowl, and so I found this place and tried it. I requested it with no coconut flakes and added chia seeds instead for $1. It was a pretty solid acai bowl. A tad on the expensive side for breakfast, but I think the ingredients they use are probably quite fresh and good quality, so it's fairly reasonable. The portion itself is pretty generous actually. If you're not that hungry, you could probably split with someone. The toppings were all nice and the açaí definitely came through with the flavor. Quite a good amount of granola there, which added a nice crunch. Quite a bit of banana too. I can say this is a pretty nice spot for açaí in Chicago.

The meat portion was very generous; the beef was thinly sliced but juicy and not dry or hard at all; the sausage had a rich smoky flavor, not too salty, and tastes a lot like Harbin red sausage. Al's Classic Hand-Cut Fries: They were piping hot when I received them, so touching! I couldn't taste the hand-cut texture, but there was a spice powder similar to salt and pepper, and the flavor was quite good.

Kinda skimpy on the fixings on the Chicago dog, but still gets the job done if you're craving a Chicago dog. Fries are the type that are greasy to the touch; not my fave style of fries but I know it's a well-liked one to others. Super friendly lady at the cashier (all smiles, patient, and offered menu help)! Also fast service (got my order within a few minutes). I visited on a Saturday late afternoon and it was very chill here (also shoutout to the early 2000's era music playing :p it was a vibe). Overall I'd say it's not a bad food spot at all if you want a quick bite and want to be a little away from the Magnificent Mile crowds.

Great lunch/breakfast spot with fast service and simple/fresh sandwiches…read more The oven roasted turkey sandwich was great, tasted like something my grandma would make me (in a good way). Will be back.

I really want to like them so much more than I do. If there were a continuum from hipster deli…read more(think Mile End) to traditional deli (Manny's, 2nd Avenue, etc) Schneider would on the hipster side of center. Two of us shared a half pound pastrami on rye with a side of hash browns. The rye was pretty decent but the pastrami was sliced far too thick and the meat was lean. That is not a good thing when it comes to pastrami and I attribute the lean meat to the deli catering to its hipster-ish audience. Although the flavor was decent, the sandwich was dry and difficult to eat. We disagreed on the generously sized pickle. One of us thought the flavor was just right, the other not so much. We both agreed on the hash browns. It's a no-go. They were well fried but entirely unseasoned. I understand the lack of schmaltz but there was no onion or salt or anything else. Waffle House has nothing to worry about. (IYKYK) Service was fast and polite. The space is tiny, but it works. Prices are okay for this area but if you want traditional deli in Chicago, go to Manny's.
