I made an appointment through IG for the $79 facial. I confirmed my appointment by phone twice. When I arrived at my appointment I had my face scanned to get a skin analysis, which basically told me what I already know; I have dry skin and hyperpigmentation from sun damage. The facial was lovely and my skin looked moisturized and less wrinkled on the forehead. I was convinced into purchasing a Genesis Z device which included 12 facials and some face products. The facial was included with the Genesis Z package and I was able to schedule my next facial for the next month. I just went for my second facial and it was fantastic. Although I had some buyer's remorse after agreeing to purchase the Genesis Z device on a 24 month Affirm plan, I now think it's worth it. For less than $140/month I get facials, the Genesis Z device, which I use every other day, and a jar or moisturizer and a manuka honey peel, plus access to their massage chairs at each visit. Looking forward to my next facial! read more

This is a scam company ran by fake group of dermatologist. I went in for a facial, had my face scanned and got scammed into buying a red light/blue light device for thousands of dollars. I was told, I would receive 1 free facial a month and unlimited facial products whenever I ran out of what I purchased for 1 year. I went in for the 3rd facial and had to wait 30 minutes for a facial treatment that was very mediocre. They basically just put a mask on my face and walked away. I could have done at home. They were out of the facial cleanser which I needed to refill and they were out of parking validation. Every time I would go in they would scan my face and try to sell me a product for thousands of dollars. I tried to call the credit card company and dispute the charges but I can not do anything to get my money back after 120 days. This company knows exactly the scam they are running. They will give you okay service for the first few months and then treat you like crap if you do not continue to purchase there scam products. read more

I would not recommend this business based on my experience with Kim Kao. I purchased an at-home skincare device from Kim at what was then Pure Luminosity Spa, along with facial treatments. I understood my financing to cover the device and treatments, yet I still do not see the device identified or separately priced in the purchase documentation provided to me. More concerning, my financing company was provided an appointment history representing that I received eight facial treatments on eight specific dates. I dispute this completely--I did not attend or receive treatments on any of those eight dates. I have work records, appointment receipts, and other documentation supporting where I was on those dates. The evidence I've been shown is an appointment calendar. A scheduled appointment does not establish that a treatment was actually performed. I have requested the underlying treatment records and clarification about the device and am pursuing the matter through the appropriate channels. My advice to other customers: get every product and service itemized in writing, keep every receipt, and maintain your own record of treatments received. read more

The facial was fantastic. The woman who did it was amazing. 10/10. But the rest was a zero stars experience!!!!! Upon arriving I was told to get a face scan. Then a "Dr" with a bloated face tried to pressure sell me a face care system, and a red light therapy device. It's a total scam. I looked up the products that they are selling and they are absolute trash. The "Dr" was so rude to me and tried to shame me and tell me that I'm gonna look terrible in 20 years. To be really honest, I couldn't even enjoy my massage because I was so stressed out about the pressure sales. Use an app like Yuka that scans products for the toxins. They were all low ranked. The best ranked one is 58/100. That's not a passing grade. On the real when I booked the facial the conformation text they sent was wrong and I should have known then. Steer clear of the predators. read more

I was recently gifted a spa treatment here having been told that it was the advertised special ($69.00 for a facial with LED red light therapy). First off, if it sounds too good to be true - most likely 1000000% it's a scam or ploy for something else. That was the case in this situation. I'm no stranger to facials and med-spa treatments. Out of curiosity I checked the reviews on Yelp and their advertisements and social pages. Let me tell you, what I got was no where close to what is being advertised! I was greeted by a man who said he was the owner and licensed dermatologist. I've never had a med-spa facial done by a man before so I was already apprehensive. But what followed was not the typical treatment you'd get anywhere else! The products he used was sparsely applied with "heavy" hands/fingers. Then the handheld device that emit the red light therapy were used. He used two different LED RL devices on my face and each time telling me the pros and cons of each devices including price points, methods of payments and even the availability of in-house financing that would guarantee results wherein I would never, ever need to go get a facial again! Um. Awkward!! Granted I did engage in conversation with the man however, the whole sales pitch was inappropriate if they wanted my business. The actual facial was terrible!! And the entire experience made me feel so terrible for my girlfriend who gifted me this session. Warning: you won't get the facial that the advertisement is showing and it's more of having a captive participant in a sales pitch to buy the handheld device or further treatments read more

I went in for a facial. They were running a special for non surgical facelift facials. The facial was great but then after this sales woman came in and was trying to sell me the infrared device. It was worse that a time shares sales person. She was relentless and wouldn't let me go. It ruin led the whole experience. read more

You won't get out without a high-pressure facial membership sales pitch. This place is very bizarre. The technician who did my facial was lovely, the massage chair was comfy (I had to wait 15 minutes past my appointment time). The bullying into a monthly facial membership and purchase of a red light therapy device was so off-putting. I declined over and over, having to defend my decision, saying truthfully, that I prefer a more traditional facial by an aesthetician versus using the red light therapy at home and coming in occasionally. My partner stopped in a couple weeks later thinking it was the Japanese hair salon next door and the booking woman treated him very poorly, yelling at him. Bad business. read more

I've experienced a few facials before and had a great experience at Kao Spa. I love the technology they used to analyze my skin. Halo was my esthetician and she was very knowledgeable. I loved how she explained everything to me and did not try to sell me any facial cremes when she could have. She explained that my skin was very sensitive and gave me some advice on natural oils that I can use. I enjoyed the treatment and would definitely go back when I visit Hawaii again. read more

I almost never write a bad review but avoid this place at all cost. TERRIBLE customer service! I originally had an appointment today because I saw their ad for their 90 min facial for only $70. I thought hey that's a steal! But the past few days, they have called me NONSTOP confirming an appt that was already confirmed. When I called them today to confirm the procedure, a woman could not tell me anything and frankly, she was rude. She told me to "hold" and then hung up. I texted back the number saying "you hung up on me" and she responded: "Apologies. I assumed our conversation had concluded since I hadn't heard from you, and I'm about to reach out to my manager." Like what??? What do you mean? You told me to hold so I did and you hung up on me. She then changed her story and said that it was a misunderstanding and she "revisited" the conversation and realized she did say hold on. Ummmm sorry what??? This whole thing happened within a 7 min timeframe. I called them back hoping to speak to a manager so I can confirm what procedures I am having done and reached the same woman and she's raising her voice and her tone was absolutely ridiculous and rude. At this point, I'm over it and cancelled the appt bc if the customer service is lacking class and kindness then I can't imagine how the rest of the service is going to be. Also, after reading some of the reviews from the last few days / hours -- I think I made a pretty good decision to NOT go here. read more

Sunday is Venus day for me ! What a beautiful Sunday it was ! I got an amazing facial from Halo, the esthetician. I feel heavenly bliss! If you are looking for a facial, check it out over there. So relaxing. The products are organic and safe. The place is clean and staff is friendly. Parking is convenient. They even have the most relaxing massage chair while you wait. I was excited to find a place that does a facial and red light treatments. 1. They changed my appointment from 9:00 am to 3:00pm. 2. They called 4 times but didn't leave a messages. I didn't answer on numbers I dont recognize. 3. They text me that they changed the appointment with this message: Hello, Rhia here from Kao Spa. I hope you're doing well. I'd like to let you know about a minor adjustment to your appointment time. For optimal care, we suggest rescheduling your appointment to Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 3:00pm. This change enables our specialist to concentrate fully on your treatment without interruptions. To confirm your slot, kindly respond via phone call or reply "Y" by the end of today (business hours). Kao Spa - Hawaii (808) 202-2120 Mahalo Needless to say I think they should have left a voice message. I did tell my technician. She said she would handle the miscommunication. I told her it made me feel like maybe I was going to get scam. Well they have you undress the top down they washed my face and if you watched the video they didn't do any of the things they showed. They didn't put any eye covering when they performed red light treatment. I had the treatment 18 years ago on the mainland and it was done by a physician. This is nothing like the one I had done by the physician. Immediately the physicians treatment of my finelines disappear and my face had excellent results. My face was clean but two days later I found where she covered more had a red mark and now I can see more dark features on my face. I just had laser treatment last October from my dermatologist needless to say I didn't like I had more spots after the red light treatment appear. Oops let's go back to the listing method 4. No eye protection for the red light treatment. 5. A little more talking than I liked during the treatment. 6. There wasn't more time to do the treatment it was more time for them to sell the product. Selling the product for only 199.99 for 24 months then watch the video to sell you even more about how good it works. I asked if I paid it upfront how much is it? She text her manager and they were offering an open one but never gave me a price really I didn't want to buy it I wanted to see what they would do. Sell me that someone open by mistake? It was worst than buying a car experience. I went along with it because I know it's her job but really. I had to wait to see how my face looked. Paid 74.00 and for what? Oh if I wrote a review they would give me a free gift right there. Umm I knew the review would not happen right away I had to see the results in a few days. I was not happy and I don't think they are professional here for me to come backs. I'll stick to the physicians office. Trust me I wanted it to be a better experience but it wasn't. The technician was nice but it's about my face it definitely non a non surgical face lift they advertised. I saw the machines that you sit under on the side of the place. She told me that those didn't work as well. Wow watch your videos you advertised. I came because the reviews were positive. I just don't want anyone to have expectations than getting a kind of facial. They didn't exfoliate just cleanse it. read more

Where do I begin about my review?... I had many facials done and by far this place isn't worth it! Alot of red flags! 1-Appointment was moved down from my original. 2-Sweater ruined by wet paint on the receptionist table! (Mind you a receptionist was sitting there checking customers with nothing to say about the WET PAINT)! 3-Felt as if the girl working on me was a rookie.. 4-Windows was see thru, where ppl in the waiting area could see you undressing 5-VERY BRIGHT LIGHT! Never had that before it was always a relaxing feeling at other places with lights dimmed! 6-My hair wasn't pulled back with a headband 7-Facial lasted 45 mins ONLY. 8-Parking ticket $12 with validation $6! WTF! ALL IN ALL I WOUND NOT COME BACK HERE, MY EXPERIENCE WAS HORRIBLE! read more

Kao Spa - After facial - Estheticians Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

Visited the Kai Spa today as there was a promo ad on IG for a non surgical facelift facial for $69.99, 50% off normal price. Upon making the appointment online I received emails and two days prior to my appointment I received a phone call and informative text messages the day prior to my appointment. Parking structure was easy however locating the office was a little challenging and was fortunate an uncle saw me lost and assisted me. Upon entering I was greeted with a smiles and welcome. The spa lobby is cute and clean. Marie my esthetician greeted me upon completing their questionnaire on the iPad. She was so sweet from beginning to end. Loved how her voice was calming and she gave me tips and taught me a few new things to add to my skin care routine. The ladies of the spa are so nice. Hannah the manager was very helpful as well, I was worried about my parking ticket thinking I lost it and she and another employee reassured me not to worry. Very grateful for their hospitality and providing me options for their current specials and packages. I highly recommend them. I feel relaxed and rejuvenated. Looking forward to coming back again. read more

I saw their add on facebook, thought I'd try it.. for $69.99 why not!! I made an appointment, they rescheduled that, that's fine.. I went to my appointment September 11, at first I didn't know where to park.. I called and Hanna was nice to let me know where to park.. I got to the spa and it's a nice spa, the ambience was nice, clean and very friendly staff.. Hanna welcomed me and had me sign a consent form.. then brought me inside the room.. The room was just as inviting as the waiting area.. it was clean, very relaxing with the music and the bed was comfortable.. I got undressed soon after that Hanna walk in and started the facial.. Hanna explained everything she was doing and what the machine was doing to my face.. it really was an incredible experience.. best facial ever.. it was so good I will be coming back.. hopefully with a friend.. read more

Beware of Fraudulent Practices - Avoid This Spa at All Costs I had an incredibly disappointing and alarming experience with this so-called "medical" spa. From the outset, I was misled about their services and payment options. They presented false information about a credit option, then took my phone to enter sensitive financial details! When I realized the deceptive nature of their practices and tried to address it, they've been dodging my calls and refusing to cooperate. Now they're claiming they can't get back to me for a week, conveniently stating that there is no manager available to handle the issue. What's even more concerning is their evasiveness about having a licensed physician involved in their procedures. While they claim to be a "medical spa," they refuse to provide the name of any physician overseeing their operations, which raises serious doubts about their legitimacy and professionalism. This lack of transparency is deeply troubling and should be a red flag for anyone considering their services. Everything about this place screams shady business. If you're considering booking an appointment here--don't! There are plenty of other reputable places that operate with integrity, transparency, and real medical oversight. I strongly urge anyone to avoid this place at all costs. Specifically beware of Lee and Hannah they worked together to lie to me. read more

DO NOT BOOK AN APPOINTMENT.. YOU WILL BE HUSTLED TO BUY THEIR EXPENSIVE PRODUCTS, & IF YOU DECLINE, THEY WILL HUSTLE TO SELL YOU A SERIES OF 6 FACIALS. THE FACIAL I HAD WAS NOT WORTH $69.99, IT WASN'T EVEN A REAL FACIAL LIKE THEY SHOWED ON SOCIAL MEDIA... Here's my story.. the ad on Facebook was for $69.99. Looked good. The first time I called they were fully booked. However, on 6/5, I received a call from them stating they had openings. How weird that they had my name and number stored in their system. Anyways, I went in on 6/6, and had a 1:30 pm appointment. They did not take me in until 1:38 pm, 8 minutes late!! They sat with me for an additional 7 minutes to "discuss my skin" and take pictures of my face. The clock was ticking.. I was finally on the table at 1:45 pm. There was as light cleansing of my facial skin, then some cream which she left on my face for 10 minutes (she left the room, so no actual activity done on my face.) Upon her return, she used red light tool to wand my face and by the time she was done, it was 2:26 pm. 36 minutes on on the table of which 10 was laying down with cream on my face with no activity!!! Worst of all, she spent 10 minutes after I was dressed trying to sell me products and a package deal for more facials. NO, NO, NO.. This $69.99 is a sales pitch to lure you in. NOT WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Not a licensed spa. Watch out for these scammers. Also when I was there they were putting cameras in the private dressing areas. The actual facial is only 45 minutes and I don't believe that they're really licensed Hawaii estheticians that give you the first facials than for the next 45 minutes they sit with you in a room and try to make you pay thousands of dollars for a machine that cost about $100. read more

As someone who doesn't really take the time for self-care, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. The process to schedule was interesting because they want you to double confirm everything and my appointment was rescheduled twice. So I was skeptical at first, but once I got to the spa (be sure to watch the video they send you to help locate it), I was very impressed with how nice it is inside and Halo is wonderful and very professional. I enjoyed the process and could see a difference as soon as it was done. The goal is to try and put you on a plan to continue receiving services or products, but Halo was not pushy if you simply decline. Overall, I'm happy with the treatment and results and will consider getting another facial in the future! Mahalo Halo! read more

Do not waste your time. Its a sales trap. Went there. Was harassed repeatedly with sales for their products. I had to insist my husband gets the service we originally came in for. We also had to pay extra for parking because the guy spent so long trying to pressure us to buy 4k worth of products. After I repeatedly asked for time to think about it. He was more interested in making a sale then taking care of my husbands service. I had to insist a few times for them to complete my husbands service . Dont you think you should allow someone to at least complete what they came in for? Seriously... people come in on a special to experience a relaxing service.. not harassment and to be nagged!!
