i have been going to kbeautylab regularly for the past 5 months and have completed several different txs and wanted to write about my experiences. long review ahead! kbeautylab signature facial - this is a great intro facial to do to get a feel for the place and familiarize yourself with the process. the massage is amazing, i had so much tension in my neck and shoulders and afterwards i left relaxed and calm. potenza - ive done this twice and its a long appt due to the numbing cream sitting on your face for 20-40min. before the numbing cream though you get a thorough facial, neck, and chest massage. my absolute favorite parts are some sort of electromagnetic wand along the neck and shoulders. it does not hurt at all but wow it makes me twitch hella crazy and makes me laugh lol cuz i bet i look ridiculous! the first time i did the potenza tx did not hurt at all but the second time it felt like a bad sunburn that kept being poked. i especially love how they end the appt with an ice/cold wand. it settles the skin really well, very soothing. so 2 sessions and i can def tell a difference in my acne scarring, my face is smoother, the skin scanner says my face is brighter and my collagen levels have improved. pico - i did an add on tx in february for some dark melasma/hyper pigmentation that has developed around my eyes last year. there are several spots maybe pinky finger tip size that im very self conscious about. it was rec to spot tx it. so i got 4 of them done and had to wear a silicone bandage for 10 days. i did have to replace them all by day 5 but they gave me extras which was really nice of them. i will say though i was at first disappointed because it seemed like they got even darker! when i went back a month later for my second potenza i talked to them about it and they told me its normal and it will lighten up, just give it time, trust the process. and guess what? IT DID! when i went back in may (so 3 months in between) and did another face scan, there was a noticeable difference! i think it actually got much better by april, from a dark brown to like a beige (i'm fair skinned hapa). i just had to be PATIENT, religiously wear SPF and reapply every 2 hours (use a stick which is much easier on the go), and be CONSISTENT with skincare (i added vitamin C along with azelaic acid in mornings and tret at night). it's def not a quick fix, it's a long haul and it's totally up to you to take care of it post op so i'd like to think results may vary and so far mines going well! skin stamp - apparently this tx is suppose to be the most painful but i didn't feel a thing?! i got a massage, electro wand, facial, numbing for 30min and went to town with the stamping but i felt nothing! chloe (?) was very surprised and said i must have a high pain tolerance which i dont agree with, im a baby with pain haha. another ice wand and then i left with a collagen mask that she told me to try and keep on for several hours and then moisturize before bed. i literally just got this done today so hopefully i see some good results! all in all, i really enjoy the lab and look forward to every monthly (my choice) tx. i'm very happy with my results and i have rec several friends to try it out. best part is that it's in my neighborhood ho'opili, so convenient, no need drive to town! read more

I was fortunate to snag a appointment on a last minute day trip to Oahu and wanted to check this place out for awhile. I came a bit early to secure parking and was able to get a guest stall. Located in a residential area, google map made it fairly easy to find this place. When I arrived, I entered through a door and read the signs, putting my footwear on a shelf and used their house slippers. I walked up the stairs and there was a nice lady who provided guidance on what to do and where to go. I would have to say I was disappointed in my consultation. Although nice, the lady spent less than five minutes going over the consultation and didn't really explain anything other than to let me know to use sunscreen, take vitamin C and collagen and suggested anti aging addition to my facial (which I got) and pico laser if I come back (wasn't explained why). When I mentioned I made a last minute appointment she made a comment "oh you're the one." It kind of put me off a bit. I have to say though the facial was divine. I've had many facials in the past and it's been a while. My face was in dire need. The facial was so heavenly and my face felt soft, moisturized and clean and lasted for days. The massage was divine and left the place in a daze from being so relaxed. There is room sharing with another customer but she left shortly after I started. The ladies are very nice, the place is very clean. I will most likely come again, and hopefully get a more detailed consultation. read more

This review is for their head spa. They are doing 20% off head spa service and any hair products this month. I come here for my facials and I heard they were doing head spa downstairs, the facials take place upstairs. I was super excited to try the head spa. They do an analysis of your scalp and hair. Similar to how they analyze your skin. They take pictures and you can see your hair follicles and your scalp. It shows you your hair growth, scalp health, and tells you how much dryness and oils you have. It was super helpful and interesting to see. I chose to do the collagen mask with my head spa experience. They put a bubbling cleanser on your face (it tingles) first and then exfoliate, next is the collagen mask it feels really nice. The experience takes about 1.5 hours. They don't have a receptionist and the check in area is tight. My head spa was interrupted when a customer came in to make a payment. So of course that was annoying and disrupted my relaxation time. I also stated after another person and I was finished before that other person so I don't feel like I got the full experience. The massage time could have been longer. The time I wasn't disrupted was good. The space is clean and relaxing. It is definitely a zen zone. Also, I think I fell asleep towards the end but was then woken up by another customer that came in. I recommend they get a receptionist or have another staff member take care of customers coming in as to not disturb the experience. I purchased the scalp foam as I was told it was good for my sensitive scalp. Will see how it works. I like that they use all natural products. All in all It was a good experience. read more

This review is for their head spa. Thanya showed me my follicles, my scalp condition and explained everything to me! Absolute perfection for my very first head spa experience. From the cozy and private environment, I was able to relax and I felt cared for because Thanya would make sure the blanket was over me, she gave me a leg pillow to help me relax, as well as a heating pad and as soon as she laid a collagen mask, everything felt so ASMR-y. I was depending on all my other senses and the smell of the products were fantastic and hearing the sound of a brush, and getting a shampoo was incredible. Thanya has the hands of a sorcerer and felt like magic! The massage almost put me to sleep. I can't recommend this place enough and can't wait to tell my girls! Amazing!!! Located in the ho'opili area in Kapolei/Ewa. Parking kind of sucks, but if you drive around you can find street parking. Once you arrive, you use their house slippers and someone will greet you upstairs. She will check you in, have you wash your face and then do a face/skin analysis. It's pretty cool. This machine will tell you what type of skin you have (oily, dry, etc.), how much elasticity your face has, wrinkles, skin age, etc. I got the plasma facial. Angela was great. I'm from CA and was recommended this spa by a local. **Tip: They book up quickly, but if you keep checking their website, you might snag a last-minute opening from a cancellation. Coming here did not disappoint! I've had many different types of facials, but this one stood out. Honestly, it felt like half of what I paid for was their deep tissue massage and the other half was the actual facial which I'm not used to (I'd give it a 4.5 if Yelp allowed). But maybe the massage just felt longer than what it was. When you arrive, you remove your shoes and wear slippers they provide. Then you have to wash your face in the bathroom to be able to do the skin analysis. I booked the K-Signature Facial (50 min), which starts with a skin analysis using a Focuskin machine. It takes four pictures, generates a detailed skin report, and emails it to you. I loved this part. The facial itself was great. Mine targeted pores, and I left with smaller, cleaner pores and that "Korean glass skin" glow. They included thorough extractions and applied high-quality treatments that really delivered results. No longer need to travel to Korea to get quality beauty treatments :) I've gotten dozens of treatments in Korea, including Potenza microneedling. My visits to these clinics were sometimes traumatic due to the intense pain I've felt during the process (I would actually cry from the pain), so I was nervous to get the treatment again here at KBL. Wow, I didn't expect to get such a comfortable experience beginning to end! I got the most relaxing facial and massage before they slathered my face in a generous amount of numbing cream, which I sat with for around 30-45 mins. Then the owner, Chloe, meticulously did the procedure, which did not hurt nowhere near as much as I've experienced before!!! In Korea, I got a tiny amount of numbing cream and got rushed into the painful process immediately. The experience at K Beauty Lab is unlike the fast and commercialized experiences you get in Korea. They genuinely want to help you achieve the best skin possible with personalized care. I've done 2 sessions so far and the results are fantastic and left me glowing! I've also been super happy with the results of my mole removal, which was only $15! It was such a quick and easy process that I was surprised to find for so cheap in Hawaii. I'm a little late to the good skin club as I naively thought that my skin would look "good" going into the next decade of life. Sadly all good things come to an end and intervention inevitable. I "gate-kept" this place for over two years because I didn't want to compete for time slots with other clients (true story). However, as part of my community service I'm willing to share this beauty spot to prevent any woman (or man) from enduring bad skin and future damage to their face. Scheduling your initial appointment may be a little hard as "cats out of the bag," about K Beauty doing awesome work. You can book online on their website or via Vagaro. Once your initial appointment is made you can then book advanced appointments easily. There is a deposit for every appointment you make and penalties if you don't cancel within allotted said period. Lora at the front desk will walk you through the assessment phase (face scan) and analysis. I knew I had a lot of skin damage from unprotected sun exposure through the years but when you see your face through UV lights and such, it's alarming. So alarming that I wanted to start truly taking care of my skin. Hence the extra care I take to double cleanse, moisturize, protect and care for my skin. K Beauty has helped me take care of my skin and they are so good at it. My facials are very relaxing and I leave there feeling fresh and "protected." My only qualm is that it is a tiny "spa," and you may literally be in the same room with someone else getting their treatment (divided by a curtain). Personal privacy is important and I do believe that K Beauty has tried/ is trying to maintain that for every client but sometimes unavoidable because of scheduling. Within earshot of service, I can hear what's being said at the front desk as well as beside me. That would be my only con but would not be enough for me to stop coming here. read more

This review is strictly for a service I got two weeks ago. Facials are great but BEWARE OF LASER TREATMENTS I read that pico laser would be good for sunspot treatment and inquired about the service. The workers advised me to not do pico that day because it might not do what I want, especially because I have so many freckles and sunspots on my cheeks. Instead, they recommended I do their mole laser removal treatment. Trusting their expertise, I went ahead and agreed to the treatment. We only did 5-6 spots on a small area on my along my cheekbone. If I liked the results, they advised me to come back for their Skin Tag & Mole Removal which includes 100 spot laser treatment to work on all the freckles and spots on my cheeks. They numbed me with a topical and went to business. The pain was manageable and the process was quick. I think they put neosporin on my skin and covered it with a silicone bandage. I was instructed to keep the bandage on for a few days and apply sunscreen on my face and over the bandage. I followed the directions I was given, and the bandage fell off by day 5. My skin didn't scab so I thought that was a good sign. I applied neosporin the next couple of days and my skin had started to scar... I texted KLabBeauty for advice to help with the scarring and they still told me to continue using neosporin... I was pretty upset because the procedure actually worsened my skin :( I don't understand how applying neosporin to a scar would help but I continued for a few more days hoping it would work. I also purchased my own silicone bandages to apply and still saw no progress. Two weeks post treatment and my skin has not showed any signs of improvement. Super bummed. I can't imagine if I actually went through with this procedure for my whole face. Can you imagine the scar damage it would've caused. Sigh. While I understand everyone's skin is unique and will react differently, this spot treatment seemed way too harsh in comparison to what I've read about pico. I wish I had a different outcome and positive results, but now I'm left with scars in a noticeable part of my face that'll take time to fade away :( read more

When you first come in reception will greet you and have you change out and wash your face. Then comes the skin analysis. I love this! I love how they are able to tailor your facial to you specific skin care needs. The skin analysis give you insight on you pores, elasticity, dark spots, UV spots, wrinkles, skin tone, how oily you face is, acne prone, sentivity and even tell you what colors complement your skin. I originally saw posts on Instagram and was intrigued by the reviews there. I was able to easily access their website and schedule an appointment, all a breeze. When I arrived, I wasn't sure which door to enter and a lovely gal greeted and helped to change into shoes, a comfy gown and welcomed me. Her skin was glowingly gorgeous, btw. They immediately took me in, the wait was non-existent and introduced to some of the other workers, I felt so comfortable and welcomed. These ladies are so kind and gentle, they scanned my skin and gave me a breakdown of areas that I should consider improving and where my skincare focus should be priority. This also gave them an idea of where to treat and with what, which would benefit me. The service, as described above, was above and beyond. The quality of this facial was excellent, I really cant complain about anything. My skin has a great glow and it feels incredibly amazing. They even offered services that I was interested in, but didn't ask about. They have a convenient membership plan that offers benefits. I was searching for a body massage business close to Ewa beach. This business kept popping up in my Yelp search. After reading the reviews I decided to try and make an appointment online. This is actual a skincare/facial business. The 1st available appointment was 6 weeks out. I left a message hoping it was a computer glitch. I never heard back so I booked a body massage somewhere else. This business called me back about 3-4 days later and said they had an opening the next day. Someone else canceled. It was a little confusing to find. It's located in a residential area. I found them on IG per the owner and there are explicit driving instructions on their page. Parking was a little time consuming but I did find some street parking. Nothing like parking downtown or anything. Just a lot of reserved spots. I wished I had asked to film the experience. It's exactly like the videos out there showing a Korean spa experience. You go into a room change into a gown , wash your face and lock up your belongings. Chloe then did a scan of my face and then went over the results. I'm out in the sun a bunch and really hate hearing about all my sun damage. She went on for about 5-10 minutes about the importance of sunscreen. I was SO glad she didn't try to push a bunch of products sales on me. I loved that! We went upstairs and I was a little surprised seeing a row of tables lined up. No private room. My facial expert spoke a little English. I do know Korean and like to listen to hear what they say to each other in Korean. I wasn't sure what was going on and it would have been nice to have them tell me the steps they were doing. She was massaging me on the down times ( mask drying) etc. I would say this was the best facial I've ever had. The only thing that might be of concern to others is the last mask she put on me was so thick I couldn't open my eyes or mouth. If you are claustrophobic you may freak out. My facial expert was also rifling through papers, tools etc a lot and seemed excessive but probably seemed that way because it was so close to my ears. I felt kinda bad because I was unable to leave a bigger tip because I left my regular credit card and didn't have much cash. Definitely will come back when I come back to Ewa. read more

I don't understand the hype around this place. While the skin scan is a nice touch, this is an overpriced spa. I was upsold into a more expensive facial after the scan results, but it didn't live up to expectations. The treatment area is a common room with thin sheet curtains separating the beds, offering no privacy. The treatment room and the front desk are barely separated, so you can also hear people checking in and out during the session. The beds themselves have plastic covers on the upper half, so your upper body is in constant contact with plastic throughout the session, which wasn't comfortable. On top of that, I could hear every other treatment happening in the room--staff talking to each other in another language, and even the sounds of oil being rubbed on the plastic sheets next to me. During the scan, they pointed out my clogged pores (which made me want to upgrade), and I expressed my concerns about some visible whiteheads during my appointment, but they never did any extractions. What kind of facial doesn't include extractions? When I asked the technician about it, she told me I didn't need them, which left me frustrated. The facial itself was underwhelming--mostly an overly oily face and shoulder massage, with so much product left on my skin that my face felt oily. During the "massage" part, so much liquid was used that it left my back in an uncomfortable puddle of oil against the plastic. I had to ask for a towel to clean the excess oil when I finally got up. Overall, the experience didn't justify the $190 price tag. You can find much better facials elsewhere for less, if not better overall service for this price... In addition to the business owners response: I want to make it clear that I was Not a walk in.. I made this appointment a month out and was looking forward to it! Yes pictures posted were taken directly after the appointment as I left.. I even showed the staff the whitehead on my face at checkout asking once again why it wasn't extracted. Most of the workers have language barriers and simply responded I didn't need it, regarding the explanation of the treatment itself, this is the first time I get any information, as your staff unfortunately had a language barrier with english. read more

Their booking is simple, service is excellent, facility is clean, and most importantly, their facial is out of this world. I would go every week if I could! Their facial massage is just top notch, you will feel like a brand new person after. I got the K beauty signature facial and it was excellent! The amount of times I raved about this place to literally everyone I know is insane; you would think I work here or something (I just love a good self-care place) Making an appointment here is like the Hunger Games -- I had to make reminders on my phone and make sure I was on the dot or I knew I was going to miss my chance. My first experience was back in October and I recently went again in December. Making an appointment for two people can be a bit confusing/a struggle but Chloe was kind enough to help me out and accommodated to our needs. Quick Prep: - switch out footwear for theirs (don't forget to switch back at the end...oops) - change in the bathroom to their robes - cleanse your face (best to come with no make-up) - take off any necklaces - utilize their locker and keep the key with you If it's your first time, you get a detailed skin analysis as she breaks down your results and answers any questions you have; you even get to find out your color palette! The results get emailed to you so you can dissect it even further (its a lot of information so I was glad I had a chance to look over it on my own time) For my second time, we did a quick skin analysis and got to compare my results from last time to see if there were any improvements! It was cool to see that I was doing something right but I wish I got to have a copy of those results as well to really see the comparison The whole experience was pretty relaxing and peaceful and the workers are super sweet! I wish they were able to explain each step in detail; it would be nice to know what was happening on our faces but there is a language barrier so hopefully one day we can find out a way to communicate that aspect. My bestie and I were so excited to try this place, that she literally set an alarm for the day Chloe dropped her appointments. After three months of waiting we finally got a slot! K Beauty Lab is located in a residential area with either street or guest parking. Make sure you are parked in a stall that has a sign that states guest parking. Once you go in, you take off your shoes to put on the house slippers that she has. After checking in, then you step into the restroom to store your belongings in a locker(don't forget to take the key with you!), put on your cover-up, and wash your face with the cleanser she has. She has this machine that takes an analysis of what kind of skin you have and let me tell you, I am very ashamed of what the result was compared to my bestie lol. You do get a copy sent to your email of your results, but the thing it didn't have was the color palette. Next, you head upstairs and that's where all the magic happens with Chloe and her team. We both did the signature facial but I also added the anti-aging as well. Literally felt like I was heaven. Everything they used felt so nice on the skin. Chloe is a professional and has been doing this for over 20 years so I trust her with my face! I originally had booked the K-Signature Facial because I didn't know exactly what I needed. After she did the scan, she thoroughly went through the different details on my type of skin for my age (whether it was dry vs oily, sensitive vs resistant, wrinkle vs tight, etc.). Based on the results, she had recommended a specific treatment to help my problem areas. She recommended the Lhala Anti-aging peel and I was SO happy with the results! I immediately booked my next month appointment. The whole process was calming, gentle but effective. None other like Chloe on the island and she does get booked quickly, so make sure to set alarms to remind yourself when bookings open again. The place is a little difficult to find because the building is so new and not yet shown on Google Maps or Apple Maps. You get your face scanned by her super fancy high tech machine that tells you everything about your skin type (and you can download it to view on your own time). She starts by having you change out of your shirt into a comfortable smock and then asks you to clean your face with their facial soap in the restroom and then has you sit down and begins scanning your face. She lets you know the results right after. I booked the K Signature Facial. It was worth every dollar spent. I can't even remember everything that was done. I had the LHala Anti-Aging facial and it was the most amazing experience. The entire process was extremely relaxing and thorough. The process began with a facial scan to assess my skin and problem areas and a consultation of what the assessment produced. The treatment started with an amazing neck, shoulder, and head massage followed by a multi-step facial. My experience here was great! After hearing about this place, I knew I had to come try it when I got the chance. At first I wasn't able to book an appointment around the time I wanted, but I randomly checked the appointment schedules again and one opened up! So if there's no opening for like the next 3 months, check back again another day and you might get lucky! I went for the K-Signature Facial. The massages and facial combined were mostly relaxing, and I almost fell asleep at one point. I really enjoyed how in the beginning, they used a special machine to take pictures of my face to make analyses about my skin. It was very informative! You also can have the report emailed to you. Chloe went through the report with me and also added very helpful tips on how to improve my skin. She and her assistant were so helpful and kind throughout my experience there. read more

I was shocked to see that there was dust IN MY PORES. And that's even after I washed my face. She gives recommendations on how to better improve your skin as well. Received a gift card for a facial so I decided to give it a try. Finding the shop was a little difficult because it's located within the housing. Apple Maps made me take a right turn into the housing parking lot and I didn't see the shop sign right after that turn so I drove around a bit until I found it. Entrance is on the street side of the townhouses. When you go inside, you have to walk up the stairs for the facial services. I accidentally walked into the room right by the entrance which I think was meant for the medical services. You are required to take off your shoes but they provide rubber slippers. Once inside, they gave me a gown to change into. Then we did a face analysis which I thought was so cool! They email you the results of the face analysis. Based on your results, they provide a specific treatment. I think the service lasted an hour and a half. Most of the time was taken up by a massage which I really appreciated! I think there was a UV light treatment of some sort as well as application of moisturizers and also extractions. I liked the modeling mask toward the end. They sell all the products that they use at the shop. I bought two of the modeling masks for $5 each. The facial itself was $125 plus tax. Overall, great service and very friendly people! read more
