On December 24, 2025 we were looking for an open restaurant. Most places were closed. Then, we saw Kalaveras open! Great, we thought! Jacob was our server. He offered a few options for appetizers. We went with the Queso Fundido. So glad we did - because it was delicious! Then, I asked for a Cadillac Margarita. Jacob made another suggestion and it was their Margarita flight. I went with the recommendation. The flight come with three different flavors, regular lime, mango, and guayaba. I am not a fan of guayaba, but this was absolutely delicious. I asked Jacob about the mix and he mentioned that Kalaveras make their own mix. Yummy! Then, we ordered our entrees, mixed fajitas for me both of us. The food was sizzling hot, delicious, and served in a beautiful presentation. The portion was so big, we had leftovers. We were so pleased with the entire experience. Jacob was fantastic. He truly was knowledgeable, friendly, and speedy! Next time, we will request his section. We want to compliment the staff for their excellent customer service and for taking good care of us while we dined. We would also like to thank the managers/executives for choosing to stay open during the holiday season. Last but not least, the ambiance was calm. Normally this location is always on top of everything and one of my favorite locations. I come here regularly but today was a huge disappointment. Management needs to do better, there was only one waiter and I understand he is very busy but the experience was bad overall. The food took a long time to come out and it was made sloppy and it wasn't even hot. Refills took over 20 mins to receive and the drinks were nothing but ice, little alcohol, more juice than anything and the waiter never came back to the table until after we asked the bartender for assistance. While I am not blaming the waiter because i understand he's busy I simply believe that everything could have been done differently and better planned out I'm truly disappointed and frustrated with today's outcome. Management was seen checking in on one particular table multiple times but simply because they seemed to know her. She walked by our table plenty of times and no check in was offered. We went there on a Friday evening for dinner, but we became intrigued by the happy hour menu. Happy hour runs M to F until 7 pm. It's nice to have happy hour run until 7 pm on a Friday night so you can take advantage of it after a week of work. It was chilly outside so we sat inside. Lots of seating. Inside has a club like atmosphere, music, dim lighting, friendly servers . We ordered the happy hour margaritas and taquitos. Our margaritas were tasty but a little small. The taquitos were fantastic! We ordered all the sauces on the side. Next time I'm going to get the sauces on the taquitos. The sauces are delicious, especially the yellow sauce, spicy. Each order came with 4 taquitos, 2 wrapped in blue corn tortillas which made a really nice presentation on the plate. As we were leaving we walked through the patio and realized the outside heaters made it nice and warm out there. We had a fun time and we can't wait to go back. Beautiful ambiance. Came here to say a little after lunch time. Staff was attentive and pleasant. Of course I ordered too much. Between me and my husband we had the Lomo Saltado and it was so good, the sweet potatoe was a really nice unique touch with the chimicurri to complement on the sides. Had the Kalichi Roll & that was an unexpected crunch and absolutely delicious. We also of course had to try the best seller tacos pescado and chicharrón - and yes very flavorful and couldn't complain. The tacos also had special touches that were perfectly matched with what the taste was after. Oh cos my Hubby loves quesabirria tacos with consommé so we got hooked up with a smaller portion to try as 1st time guests. Waiter came back with my card and made a comment to my date that my card was declined and shook his head as if he was trying to embaress me. The queso fundido was also good but have tried better. Entrees: Parrillada- feeds two people & every meat was well seasoned, Carne Asada dish- meat was soft & juicy & will recommend, Carnitas dish- was good but portion size is kind of small compared to the other two entrees Drinks: Margarita Flight- super good & the presentation of it is very appealing, will definitely be getting again, the alcohol is not very overpowering & has the perfect amount of fruity flavor! Overall the atmosphere is very appealing but did notice that a lot of tables wobble including ours which bothered us a bit once our entrees came but nothing we couldn't bare. Went here for happy hour on a Wednesday which is also Mezcal Wednesday! Happy Hour runs from 4PM-7PM if I'm not mistaken. Mezcal drinks are only $9 so I went with La Ultima Palabra. It was strong due to the green chartreuse but otherwise really balanced cocktail. 2 empanadas were also only $7. The spicy chicken and spicy beef were both on the medium spicy side but the flavors were good too. Any 2 tacos (that are not seafood) are also $7. The chicharron had a really fatty and hearty pork belly while the carnitas was dripping with juices and really savory. The vibes were good and lively with all the reggaeton music videos playing. The prices for happy hour are really reasonable but outside of it, the regular prices are a bit expensive.
