Good Mexican food/sports bar. But the lady manager in the afternoon has Hispanic soap operas on. So I walk in there like I have before and ask her to change it to some kind of sports. So what does she do? She puts on Love Song Hispanic videos. That might be great if it was a bunch of girls, but no one's in the place. it's just a couple of guys. And then she disappears after you have the request for some sports. You can't even find her. She obviously doesn't care about her patrons. It's a good thing. The tacos are decent. As a manager, she sucks and doesn't know that by pissing off the patrons it means less business. If this manager would just put Sports on in the afternoon during taco Tuesday, she'd have a lot more business. Matter of fact, I would invite my friends to come down and hang with me there as it does have decent tacos, but no, not when I get this kind of crap. The food is good enough that I would invite more of my friends over but not when she's gonna play love songs and soap operas for her own enjoyment. Guys don't want to see that crap. She sucks. My girlfriend and I went to the old town Temecula spot this last weekend. She had the taco combo plate with Chicharron and salmon taco. I had the Quesa Birra Taco plate. The chicharron and queso birra was so delicious! The salmon taco was ehh. We also ordered the chips and salsa. Salsa was tasty and had a roasted type flavor. Just no heat to it. Better with some heat in my opinion. Now on to the chips. If you're going to do something right, the chip's definitely need to be one of these things. Was very disappointed with the chips. Also beans and rice gotta be on point. They weren't excellent but to me still good. Now to the drinks. GF ordered the mojito prieto and I had the Pepinos con Chili margarita. Mojito was ok, nothing great. But the Pepinos was so so good! Refreshing and really tasty. Overall we had a great experience. I heard great things about Kalveras, so we were really excited to try it out. We came on a Saturday, early evening, and was seated right away. This place gets packed fast! Fun vibes. Great place to eat and drink with your friends. Food is ok. Nothing impressive. Decent. McKenna was our server and made it a great experience. We went to this place because I saw how great it was on IG.......NOT. First off let me say that we were really hungry, we were seated and seemed like the waiter was overworked. But a nice guy. He brought our drinks (water) but the water tasted like tap he took our order and food took forever to come out. When it did come, only two plates came out and our friend waited another 10-15 minutes . We waited to eat with him by then our food had cooled. So his $28 plate came out with his missing sides let me say food was okay nothing special, I had better food elsewhere for less, menu items are pricey. I expected better. My review is strictly based on the food we ordered via UberEats. First, the chicken "bowl" is essentially a salad with chicken on it. The amount of chicken was generous. However, my first bite of the chicken was terrible. It had a rubbery consistency, which first made me wonder if it was microwaved. I made my husband taste it to make sure I wasn't being overly picky, and he said it was weird and wondered if it wasn't fully cooked. So I threw it in a pan and cooked it a bit more, and that helped the consistency a little. I really hope I don't end up with food poisoning. I'm really disappointed. Tried Kalaveras yesterday. Our server was named Jersey and she was great, prompt, informative, and served us with a smile. I had the Birra Tacos and the wife had the Kal Burrito, both were very tasty, and we left none behind. The drinks were good and the restaurant was clean and modern. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the avocado slices that were served with the birra tacos weren't ripe enough to enjoy. Went in for taco Tuesday which was good couldn't ask for more considering the price $1.49 a taco. Service was great. Ambiance could be so much better I've been here before when they had great music playing and music videos. Tonight music was good but selection on TV was wasn't good they had commercials playing instead of the music videos they normally have music videos that myself and others enjoy watching it gives it a night life feel during the week. I had chosen to come to this place specifically for my birthday dinner, out of all the places in the area I could have gone, I decided this is what I wanted, and my experience was not that great. When my Husband told the waiter that we were celebrating my birthday and ask if they do any kind of celebrations, the waiter leggit said "oh we do but I can tell you right now there is nobody available to do that, I can ask but I honestly dont think we will be able to do it" NOW I have gone to places where even the one waiter does the whole thing and they are super cool about it, making you feel special on your day, but his response made my hisband embarrased to have asked because what kind of a response is that specially saying it infront of the birthday person itself! That honestly ruined my birthday dinner, not to be mean in any sort, but if I took the time to research places where I wanted to celebrate my birthday at and chose this place out of many other good places in the area and to have received this service, it was dissapointing. However, the bartender who I believe his name was George, was very rude and disrespectful to our group.
