This was our first time eating here. The waitress was not knowledgeable about anything. We asked questions about.the food and menu. Food ended up being horrible and the wait time was terrible. My son and I just sat and people watched because there was nothing else to do. It felt like a cruel joke. I wanted to leave after ordering and no food for so long. I asked so many questions ahead of time and nothing went right. When food was delivered I was going to be up charged for asking for cheese. I asked way ahead of time about cheese and guacamole for taco bar. Neither were there and only asked for the cheese but they wanted a fee. I let the waitress know I had asked her and it wasn't okay and she could take all the food and give us a refund. She went to talk to someone and then brought out the cheese. It still doesn't matter because there were so many employees standing around not doing anything. The lack of service was actually worse than the food. read more

I came here with a party of 6 for a friend's birthday on a Sunday at 12pm and were seated immediately. Service was very slow & we had to ask for chips and salsa after about 20 minutes of sitting there. When our food came out, everyone received their food except for the birthday girl. When the waiter finally came around, we told him about the missing meal and it came out as the rest of us were pretty much done eating. We asked the him about comping the meal since & his manager did do that, which was proper and appreciated. I had the asada and pollo tacos and they were yummy, as was the rice. The tacos are ordered a la carte at $5.50 each, which I feel is reasonable. The staff did come out with a sign and sing happy birthday to my friend which was great and they gave her vanilla ice cream with a berry sauce. The restaurant is located on the second floor via elevator or stairs. There is a bar and also a balcony you can go out and people watch. They have Happy Hour & lunch specials during the week and Sunday brunch. read more

Let me start by saying, I LOVE KALAVERAS. This location absolutely sucks and has to be the worst one I've been to. Let's start with, the vibe, Kalaveras is supposed to be lively, fun, and exciting. This was the most boring one by far and I've been to Riverside, Corona, San Bernardino and LA, because again, I love Kalaveras. This one was nothing more than a restaurant playing music. The service was just as awful, the waiter was not thorough, rushed to take orders, and just seemed overall like he had somewhere better to be. We had to flag him down for everything. We ordered chips and guac as an appetizer, finished it and ordered another, the second one didn't come out until after we were done with our entree. What's the point now ? My entree came and then literally 3 minutes later, my dessert came, then they rushed to sing happy birthday. I don't go to Kalaveras because the food is amazing, it's good but it's not like mind blowing or extremely flavorful but again, THIS location was pretty bad, everything was bland and lacked the little bit of flavor that it normally has. Take the drive to go to another location. This one sucks. read more

We stop by Kalaveras at Old Town Temecula for dinner with margaritas (with mezcal instead of tequila!). We ordered the barbacoa, which is delicious!, and some chicharrón, asada, and shrimp tacos. All the food is excellent, but the service provided by Alejandra, Jazmin, Tina, and Abraham, was just stellar. At the end they surprised my wife, who celebrated her birthday a couple of weeks ago, with las mañanitas by the staff dressed as mariachis. Great place, and the ambiance is pretty festive. read more

Great food, excellent service and wonderful atmosphere. Nice upstairs restaurant with lively music. We enjoyed the Monday $5 Margarita Deals. Had delicious pineapple & jalapeño margaritas. Food came out fast and enjoyed the grilled chicken fajitas & the carne asada wet burrito. Even the warm chips and salsa were great!!!! Highly recommend this spot in Old Town Temecula read more

Taco Tuesday was a deal, but the service was horrible. Waitress was nowhere to be found after she brought our drinks. She was not friendly. We asked two other staff people for our check because it was 3:15 and we got there at 1:30. After giving her my credit card, she charged me $35 for a $20 tab. I had to go find her to get it refunded. It did not seem like an honest mistake either, because it was not crowded. No apologies. My friend and I will pick another place for lunch from now on. If you choose this place, check your bill and card statement. read more

We went for $1.50 tacos and a vibe . We got 8 tacos , 2 drinks each . My drink was vodka , water splash of cran in a taller glass so i got a double $28 each ., one shot is $14 dollars ? The whole bill $128 dollars . They made $115 on 4 drinks . Holy cow!!! Our friend got sick that night from the cow tongue . The vibe was ok , love the colors but it does not match their instagram at all. Not sure if we will be back . Hopefully others enjoy it . read more

Service was bad. Ambiance was depressing. Two female bartenders made excellent drinks but the service demeanor almost made me get up and walk out. After deciding to stay and try to relax, I noticed that all the employees had no spirit and no joy in delivering a good, not great, experience. No smiles, no happy attitudes in the place. Leaving the place made me happier but I had higher hopes for a fun visit. Something needs to done quick. I am unable to recommend this particular location but maybe other locations may be better. read more

I will write my review in a professional way. From what I experience, they have poor business practices. Certain staff members will take things personal with any interacts they don't like. There are certain customers they will judge quickly and not acknowledged. They will have them wait for a long time to be attended and certain customers will be attended right away. I see the one star review of previous customers having the same experience. I was one of the witnesses who saw the staff kicked a bunch of people out protecting an entitled bartender's feelings. I saw the bartender started it with the customer when he spoke Spanish to her. After she engaged in speaking Spanish back, she asked why are you speaking Spanish instead of English in a rude way. The customer stood up for himself and the other customer was trying to defuse the situation. Then, the bartender pull the victim card and had them kicked out. She knows she was on the wrong trying to protect her reputation. I bar hop all the time I seen way worse rowdy customers and the staff handled it well without kicking them out. They normally give warnings before escalating to that level. After discovering what the company culture is all about, I can tell its personal feelings over maximizing profits. All I can say in a business common sense, the company is doing business in a bar hopping environment and it's a tourist area not far from the winery. There will be all types of customers that won't culturally fit in a walking on egg shells environment. All the customers care about is having a good time and distress about what they are dealing with in their personal life. In conclusion, the company can do business the way they want. I am not going to force it to change other than complain, write reviews, and give recommendations. There are better bars that give better customer service in that area. I am writing this review to stand up against the emotional bullying, the slandering, encouraging people to stand up for themselves, and saving future customers time. I hope the good staff members find a better opportunity. I can tell on their faces they also don't like the company environment either. read more

I like the empanadas appetizer and my kids will get the Dragon Roll. We like their specialty drinks but they can get pricey if ordering multiple drinks. The service has been lacking the past few visits. The place is load and busy during dinner times. And the last time in we were told we couldn't order drinks at 9pm but the place didn't close till 10pm, they said it was past last call. read more

Ragz and I met with his old college roommate and his wife for brunch here. Temecula is a cute little town and we walked around a little bit before coming in here. The place was sort of empty when we showed up at noon. We had a booth to sit in and it was comfortable. Our server brought us chips and salsa when we asked for it - they don't just bring it out. I started with the chamoyada margarita and it was delicious and pretty strong in my opinion. The Marg flight was also a hit at our table. Rag got the chilaquiles and those were yummy. I had the breakfast eggs with potatoes and these were average, under seasoned but okay. The Kala bowl was good and the Barbacoa tacos were delish. We spent quite a bit of time here and service was pretty decent. Other than the fact that there were very few people here, the place was cool. read more

We came in on a Saturday night with a birthday group reservation. The food is yummy but pretty pricey for what it is. They have pitchers of margaritas so that was a great option for a birthday group. They tasted great too. It's very very loud and hard to hear your party. Our service was awful and they added the gratuity. I wound grabbing another server and she came by a couple times to check on us but this was at the end of our experience. Wish we had her the whole time. I think this place will do fine since the bank closed and it has the type of weekend night out vibe Old Town is popular for. I'm sure I'll come back in and hopefully I can give an updated five star review too. read more

Food was ok. Not much variety. Wished they served chips and salsa as we waited for our food to arrive. They didn't take reservations but was very accommodating for a party of 27! Food didn't come out all at the same time. People were missing some items when others had already finish. Figure that would be the case since the party was so big. It's was overall ok. Not something I would be craving to go back to though. read more

We wanted to love this place especially after hearing many people raving about it. The drinks were on point! We got a couple palomas and they didn't disappoint. We ordered a guacamole for starters which was served with chips and we also enjoyed that! I especially like the queso fresco bits in there! Now the entrees were not so good. We ordered the Molcajete and let's just say it was a big let down and would not order it again. The chicken was burnt and shrimp was tasteless. The steak was the only part that was ok. I ordered a taco a la carte just to try out the carne asada. It was not good! It was very plain with no guac and slivers of raw onion. Also they put little chunks of nopales in the meat that does not mesh well. The tortilla ripped in half after the first bite. We will be back to give it another try because we enjoyed the place and cool atmosphere. Great place to hang out for drinks and maybe appetizers... read more

I LOVE coming here for margarita monday!!! They're my absolute favorite here and the price is unbeatable! The chamoyada and the tama-lindo are my go tos. I could never go wrong with those. Don't even get me started on the wet burrito. I got the klassic wet burrito with carne asada. I choose the red and green salsa to make it wet, best of both worlds! I always get a side of sliced serrano for that extra crunch and spice. I totally forgot my servers name, but she was SO sweet. I have to get her name again the next time ago since I've only been twice. But the second time I visited, she told me she remembered me because of my smile and that was the sweetest thing I've ever heard. I can't wait to come back again! read more

This place is a hidden little gem. The ambiance and vibe are so fun! Generally anywhere we go in old town is packed and there's almost always a wait. I was shocked when we walked right in and we're seated at lunch time on a Saturday. I had the chicken enchiladas and a michelada. These were not your basic enchiladas you would normally see at a restaurant. The tortillas had a delicious homemade texture and flavor, the sauce was creamy with a bit of a kick. And they were stuffed with juicy chicken. My drink was tasty! I highly recommend that as well. read more

Good place to get a few drinks & maybe an appetizer or some tacos. It's right above the coin op in old town and has a nice view of the street, nice ambiance and they do birthdays and parties. Went here on a Wednesday afternoon and it was DEAD. But no one was around to seat us so we decided to sit outside. The bartender was rude as hell. I didn't catch her name but she has black hair and fake blue contacts. I have NEVER heard of a bartender NOT serving water. My party asked for water and she said "you can't get that here" and never gave us a reason. When we made a big deal she said we can ask a server for water??? A server even came by and thankfully got us water but also said "I don't even know why she said that" All in all, I would not recommend this location to my worst enemy. This location is NOT IT. read more

My wife and I ordered a couple of cocktails after lunch today and I watched the bartender grab a yellow towel and scrub the outside of my wife's cocktail. I thought to myself how impressive that she wanted to make sure there was nothing on the glass that already had the cocktail in it she had made. I took the drink to my wife, thinking nothing more of it. After my wife had drank about an inch of the drink she noticed a black layer of who knows what on the INSIDE of the glass. It suddenly came to me that I watched the bartender try and remove the black ring around the INSIDE of the glass! Evidently, rather than pour another drink the bartender served it! She knew there was something not right on the inside when she attempted to clean it from the outside of the cocktail glass! Who would do something like this? The bartender at Kalaveras, Temecula that's who! Maybe check your plates, glasses, silverware, etc., before consuming here. The bartender said "sorry" after I brought it to her attention and she polished another glass and made my wife another. She knew what she had done. read more

My girlfriend and I went to the old town Temecula spot this last weekend. She had the taco combo plate with Chicharron and salmon taco. I had the Quesa Birra Taco plate. The chicharron and queso birra was so delicious! The salmon taco was ehh. We also ordered the chips and salsa. Salsa was tasty and had a roasted type flavor. Just no heat to it. Better with some heat in my opinion. Now on to the chips. If you're going to do something right, the chip's definitely need to be one of these things. Was very disappointed with the chips. Also beans and rice gotta be on point. They weren't excellent but to me still good. Now to the drinks. GF ordered the mojito prieto and I had the Pepinos con Chili margarita. Mojito was ok, nothing great. But the Pepinos was so so good! Refreshing and really tasty. Overall we had a great experience. The atmosphere was awesome, super friendly staff, great location and food and drinks were yummy. Would have given 5 stars but then chips prevented that. Highly recommend this place. read more

Well I didn't even got to try the food here. Service I would say wasn't that good , I am a 32 yo man ,wife and 3 kids; of course that after having a rough day I wanted to get my Cadillac margarita but since I forgot my ID at home it was a big deal so I just ended up leaving, I wasn't gonna leave my money at this restaurant. I heard great things about Kalveras, so we were really excited to try it out. We came on a Saturday, early evening, and was seated right away. This place gets packed fast! Fun vibes. Great place to eat and drink with your friends. Food is ok. Nothing impressive. Decent. McKenna was our server and made it a great experience.
