While the vibe and ambiance were very very good, the food was about 3 stars. Outside of the tacos. The service was good, a couple miscommunications but I can blame that on the value of the music. The drinks were bussin fr. Me and my friends ordered multiple tacos, and nachos of different fashions, can't lie that shrimp taco was the best thing. Didn't particularly like the quesadilla, the veggies weren't like, 'cooked'. Would go back for the tacos though.

Love the staff at this location I only wish they had more vegan options. But the atmosphere is fun, my husband's drink was tasty and strong, my wine was perfect and the chips, salsa and guac were fresh and delicious. Actually, our first basket of chips tasted a bit stale, which we mentioned to our server and she went back and got a fresh batch which were so light and crispy. The best service here and we'll definitely be headed back very soon. Parking was easy right in the lot

Kalaveras is an awesome Hispanic food spot and we went to the one specifically in the marina. They played great music and has tons of seating and our waiter was awesome. We went on taco Tuesday because they have great deals on tacos. It's all you can eat and it's two dollars taco which is a great deal. The tacos are a great size and if you go during happy hour, you could even get discounted drinks. So I'll start with the standouts on food the Pollo taco and the El Pastore were the two standouts. The juice, the flavor, the tenderness the consistency of the pastor made it my favorite. It was so delicious and so fresh highly enjoyed highly recommend and the Pollo the chicken was nice juicy fresh And had great texture. Very enjoyable was surprised that I liked it more than the Carne Asada. The Carne Asada was good, but I'm a big ass guy so my expectations when it comes to are really high, but it was good juicy tender. It did feel like it was missing something I couldn't tell you what it was, but it definitely felt like it was missing a tad bit of something. The Carnitas was delicious. I enjoyed it a lot. This is always a safe choice to go with because it's very easy to do this and it was good consistent. Nice texture a good flavor. It just wasn't a stand out. I still recommend trying. Maybe you'll have a different opinion, but it was good. And the margarita was delicious as well. I got the mango and Chamoy margarita.Ask for a side of the liquid one not the powder it's homemade in house is what the waiter told me and it is delicious. It's addicting and you can eat a cup of it all by itself, no drink necessary. Overall, a great experience. I will be the group of Friend) and I will definitely be back for another talk Tuesday.

Came here to celebrate a birthday for an early weekend dinner. Didn't know what to expect but left satisfied. Once you walk in you're greeted by a lovely flower ceiling and a flowed up wings panel that's fun to take pics in front of. We had reservations so we were seated right away in a preferred booth area where a pretty flowered wall invited us to stay awhile. Nice vibes overall inside. We shared the guac and aguachiles app with plenty o' chips. Nothing super special about the chips per se but the apps were delish. Drinks are so so all around. In general we all agreed that they were all short on the alcohol part. Everyone loved their entrees. Pics taken of the quesobirria tacos were served up with a tiny cup of the leftover delish braised beef sauce to pour into if ya needed more. Loved that option!! Would get this again!!Friend liked her carnitas and braised beef tacos that you can mix and match with other meats and have them with flour tortilla vs the corn. Friends who had the salmon, burrito and molcajate entrees said they would get it again, especially the molcajate dish that hit the right spot she said. Craving satisfied! Birthdays are cranked up a notch with the right amount of "flair"! Ice cream with strawberry sauce was yummmm. Overall will be back. Maybe the next time for brunch or happy hour!! There are TVs but not a place to come to catch a game probably. Great spaces to reserve for a little special party it looks like. There was an engagement or wedding party that wrapped up when we got there. Or, if you're wanting to just grab a casual bite, the big bar seems to have a lot of seating to grub at. Since it's in a shopping center, plenty of parking that's free. In LA, that's a must know. Wait staff and host were pretty nice overall and checked on us often enough. Place gets super busy so not sure how it is when you're here when it's packed. Recommend for a casual but yummy experience!!

Lorena was a wonderful waitress, she made my Dad's birthday so fun! Great Happy Hour food & delicious Margarita Slushies! The Mango Chamoy is a MUST try, it's delicious! Love the flower ceiling when you walk in & don't forget to get a picture with the Kalaveras Angel Wings

The food came in 10minutes after I ordered. Ian had a good memory and I got napkins right away. The ambiance was good even for kids my granddaughter loves the music. And im celebrating my daughter and myself Birthday. We were seated in 10 minutes on a Saturday. I recommend this place.Ian was our server

I'm actually disturbed by how delicious the tacos Gobernador were! The crazy part is I removed the cheese and the chipotle sauce, yet they were immaculate...it's puzzling honestly. These weren't on the happy hour or taco Tuesday menu, but I will be back (despite it being twenty two dollars for three tacos...well worth it) I also ordered one salmon taco, which was okay. I was so happy with the shrimp tacos that I honestly didn't pay any attention to the salmon one, so it's probably not a fair assessment. The vibe inside feels very much like a Mexican arcade--lots of colors, lights and excitement. The service was great as well, and the waitress kept checking on us, even after we finished our food and stayed for hours talking lol

Came here for a social mixer and Kalaveras did not disappoint! The floral wall setups are IG gold, the food and drinks hit the spot, and the staff made hosting a big group easy by letting everyone pay separately. That's a major win! Whether you go for tacos or photo ops, this spot brings the vibe and the flavor. See you next time!

Great service and good food. Absolutely loved the Tamarindo margarita! Nice ambiance and they also have a private section for private events. It's a full bar with plenty of options. Plenty of free parking in the parking lot. The food was good as well (highly recommend the potatoe tacos). Everyone loved their meal.

I cannot believe I've driven past this place so many times over the years and just now trying it. The food was good, the happy hour is WORTH IT. My waitress was a little slow but that strong Adios I consumed bought her some time and my patience. There is so much space, tons of sitting and parking. YES YES YES. Give this place a try. Don't order the cheesecake. It's gross. It tastes spoiled

Really fresh and yummy Chips and excellent salsa

This is a great place to go for happy hour. Eight dollar margaritas! Super amount of flavors and it's not blended! I had the guava and my friend had the pineapple. The guava came with a Chamoy rim and the pineapple with pineapple. we like them so much we had seconds. For snacks, the starting chips and salsa were delicious. Especially we like that the salsa was puréed but not too much, there were a lot of chunks, and it had just the right amount of not much heat. Then we had the queso fundido, which came with chorizo and mushrooms and was absolutely fantastic. We also shared the three taco plate with shredded beef and birria dipping sauce. The price was quite reasonable on these items, too. The Service was very helpful, warm and friendly, and the place looked absolutely beautiful. It was our first time but we're looking forward to going back again soon and making this a regular happy hour stop .

All dishes are carefully crafted with its colorful details, and its simple but bold flavors prepared for you through an open kitchen. This place gets busy the minute they open their doors so make reservations prior. 1. Korean Aguachile: fresh tilefish sashimi with finely sliced cucumber and white floral decor simmered in ice cold kimchee broth they pour at the table. Soooo good. Must order. 2. Soy Marinade Blue Prawn: My favorite dish of the night. Huge raw blue prawns (head attached) marinaded with soy sauce. Served with barley rice topped with Ssam jang (type of bean paste sauce), and seaweed paper. You wrap all ingredients in the seaweed paper to make a hand roll. Soooooo delicious. Can't walk out without trying this. 3. Beef short ribs: good but nothing unique in its flavoring . Beef steak(medium rare and super tender) that's lightly marinaded/glazed (so not overly sweet) with kbbq/short rib sauce. This is one of their fan favorites so I suggest you try it.. 4. Chilled Acorn Noodles: chewy cOLD noodles made with acorn (just like the acorn jelly side dish we eat). The noodles are seasoned with Korean Cho-go-chu-jang (Gochujang paste), crispy cucumber slices, loads of dried seaweed flakes, and perilla oil. And you just mix them all together. Sooo good and paired well with the short ribs. Incredible. 5. Bluefin tuna and trout Bibimbop: like a poke bowl but so much better. Rice at the bottom with loads of lettuce strips, bluefin tuna sashimi, radish slices, and cavier. Seasoned with Korean Cho-go-chu jang (Gochujang paste with a twist of vinegar). Very good as well. For drinks we tried the shikhye slush (shikhye is a Korean sweet rice drink dessert). They used a slushy shikhye base with warm cinnamon and ginger spices and pisco for a kick. Also tried the Sujinggwa manhattan which is sujunggwa (traditional Korean cinnamon ginger dessert tea served cold) and a single malt. This was fabulous. Overall fantastic experience. Fantastic food, cool ambiance's. And great service. Highly highly recommend this place!

Tables looked available around 5pm though so walk-ins could be possible. Ambiance: Outside was nice and inside looked dimly lit and romantic. We were seated promptly and service was good. Food: Rice slushy had a strangely strong cinnamon-like taste to it that traditional rice punch doesn't have which was so overpowering, it made it difficult to go back for more sips. Oysters - good though small, enjoyed the kelp mignonette Korean Aguachile - Delicate tilefish completely overwhelmed by cold kimchi broth with actual icy slush in it and small amounts of fish Steak Tartare - The hot stone bowl seemed to defeat the purpose of a tartare, as it cooked the steak once mixed. The perilla leaves were also cut in large strips relative to the beef. Chilled Acorn Noodle - The perilla oil was nonexistent in flavor though the dish didn't need it and was good without. Overall, portions were small for the price and dishes weren't well-executed so despite being excited for more Korean options in West LA, I'd much rather make the drive to Koreatown for better portions, prices, and flavors.

I ordered a rye old-fashioned and my wife ordered a house creation, "Jesuit's Tea Party," which she enjoyed. For our entrees, I ordered Hainan Chicken and my wife had the Walnut Shrimp. The dough was a bit thick and the flavor was just alright. XO Fatty Noodles (rolled rice noodles, XO sauce, bean sprouts, garlic chives, fried shallots - $22.00): The noodles tasted slightly salty. I couldn't tell whether I had sliced pork belly or flat noodles in the dim lighting and it turned out to be thick slices of flat noodles. Orange Chicken (orange soy-based sauce, dried chilies, orange zest - $22.00): Super crispy orange chicken, but it was crunchy type of crispy and tasted a bit dry. Walnut Shrimp (mayo, candied walnuts, sesame seeds, red cabbage - $25.00): his dish came with lettuce and looked really nice. The flavor was solid and it tasted very healthy. *** Personally it was an overpriced experience for mediocre Asian fusion food. I would much rather visit Jade Rabbit in Santa Monica for cheaper and more delicious Asian fusion food or Din Tai Fung in Santa Monica for a more consistent dumpling and noodle experience. The only reason to come here is for the date-night vibe. Honestly, the food tasted more like Northern Chinese fusion cuisine than Taiwanese fusion cuisine.

It had a cool vibe and tons of allocated bottles on the bar (tequila and whiskey and whisky to name a few categories). The staff greeted us quickly and supplied us with some menus. I opted for the Idyllwild cocktail and loved it! It had the most complementary flavors and was so refreshing with the bourbon, yuzu, chartreuse, honey, and lemon flavors. My husband opted for a neat Caballito Cerrero Puntas pour (high proof agave spirit). They only had 0.5 Oz for their bottle and only charged for the partial pour. People came in and ordered anything from cocktails to neat pours to flights. It was a cool spot and the bartenders seemed pretty well versed in different cocktails, giving a few suggestions to different patrons. Even making a few Espresso Martinis for a couple of girls that didn't really like their initial cocktails. Staff was cool, attentive, and pretty quick and efficient with the pours. I'd definitely be down to try more drinks here if we roll through again. Luckily, we found some close street parking and it wasn't super busy so we easily found parking in the area. It also wasn't super packed in the venue so we could've opted for other seating--lounge areas, a few tables, or just at the bar.

So genuine and lightweight, loved sitting there. We ordered the deviled eggs, cornbread and meatloaf mash. WOW! complements to the chef Bravo! Everything was fantastic!! Absolutely must try the cornbread. Such a great balance between sweet, savory and spicy. Not a single table was served without them ordering this dish. I can imagine how many they serve a day! The deviled eggs were delicious and surprisingly so filling. I loved the turkey meatloaf with the mash and gravy. So flavorful!! The vibe and atmosphere was great and I can't wait to go back!

Firstly, I came for dinner on a Saturday night and it's absolutely beautiful inside. I loved the dim lighting and the lights which create a truly romantic experience. Service was great and our servers were amazing. They explained the menu throughly and explained how the items were family style. For drinks, we ordered the pong express which was delicious. For food, we ordered the cornbread, the cat fish bites, the blackened chicken, the carrots and the mashed potatoes. Everything was super delicious and the portions were great. Definitely recommend for any occasion!
