I have nothing but incredible things to say about this place. We went a few hours after a home football game ended and it wasn't busy at all. But it should be because it was SO good! Food was incredible and we would get everything again! There's a bar area where you can see them make the sushi and the rest of the restaurant is adorable! Also lots of parking available. And our server was the kindest server ever! 10/10 and will definitely be back!

The volcano roll was not worth the price to me. The Cajun seasoning they put on it way over powered anything else in the roll. The rolls were not packed tightly like they are supposed to be so they fell apart easily. The miso soup was too salty for me. I did get a cucumber drink and that was refreshing and good. The Happy Island was great in taste. Just like I said it fell apart easily. The service was great super friendly waitress. I would give this spot another chance just steer clear of the seasonings way too much.

A seemingly more upscale sushi restaurant. Menu is separated into cooked and raw, which was interesting. Gyoza are called dumplings. Feels a bit Americanized. Appetizers: Veggie gyoza were good; a bit boring but that's on me for not getting the chicken ones! House salad dressing was really good, a unique flavor compared to others in the area. Miso soup was cold, a bit of a bummer. Dinners: Chicken hibachi was SO good; the sauce on the chicken not the dipping sauce. Rice was a bit bland. Overall portion was huge compared to some others in the area. Kumo roll was good! That was my favorite. Disappointed by lack of salmon options but not surprised - the American Dream roll was okay. Thats on me though because I think I just don't like that much tuna. Rice tasted a bit old, but they weren't busy at all so it probably wasn't that fresh. I would definitely come back and explore more of their menu!

The food was really good. The service was great. Our waitress was really nice. Patient and kept us updated on the order of our third roll. Ambiance was elegantly simple. Nice piano music playing. Very happy with the chicken dumplings. The rock n roll roll was the best. The rainbow roll was a nice balance. Loved the booth, especially the gator looking fabric on the seat.

Kaiyo is a gem in the Okemos area for sushi and hibachi. The cozy interior and ambiance welcomes you as soon as you walk in. This place is perfect from casual dining, group celebrations, to date nights. Don't let the low prices fool you- the quality is definitely fresh and thoroughly prepared. We ordered the Detroit tiger, Godzilla, and a side of hibachi vegetables. We loved each of the dishes as the fish inside was fresh and flavorful. The waiter and owner came by throughout our dinner to give us care and make sure everything was good. This place is my new go-to for sushi. Would absolutely recommend others to come in and give it a try.

The lunch menu is a great deal! I received soup, salad and two regular rolls for 14.99! Pictures is the food, minus two peices of roll because I was excited.

Amazing lunch special, Sushi Sandwich. Comes with salad and soup. Great quality and service. Defiantly coming back for dinner!

The food is fresh and fantastic. I had the sushi sandwich which comes with soup and salad. The service and atmosphere are perfect. Going to come back for dinner very soon

Our server, Will, suggested a wine that turned out to be spot-on: a dry, subtle Chardonnay, nicely chilled and presented in a granite cooler on our table like it was royalty. Loved that detail. The entrées did not disappoint. My husband had the salmon, delicately enhanced with salmoriglio, served with wild rice atop a light bed of bok choy and baby carrots--simple, fresh, and perfectly balanced. I had the crab-stuffed shrimp, which was absolutely fabulous, also with wild rice, baby carrots, and that sneaky little layer of bok choy you barely notice but totally appreciate. It was a busy Saturday night, so definitely make reservations--it's worth it. The atmosphere struck the perfect balance: lively but not loud, elegant without being stuffy--the kind of place that makes you feel justified putting on heels and lipstick just because. And a special shoutout to GM Brad, who was absolutely wonderful, along with the rest of the staff. Warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming--service like that makes a great meal unforgettable. We'll absolutely be back.

The restaurant is quaint but with sufficient seating to accommodate both small and medium sized groups. There is ample parking as it is located in a downtown district. The decor is simple modern, nice clean lines every where you look. Our waitress, along with those assisting her with food and drink were abundantly pleasant and welcoming. At one point the waitress prepared to offer me and my dining companions the drink specials and I jokingly asked her if she would "freestyle them" while I beatboxed. She admitted she was horrible but was down to try! We were both horrible but the exchange was fantastic and very personable! We appreciated her and her service throughout our evening. All of the cocktails we selected were well made with high quality liquors, no complaints there! The food. The food, the food was superb! We all enjoy the presentation of our dishes, beautiful and simple! Everything tasted well balanced and flavorful served in perfect portions. Our only complaint here was the pasta in the Cacio e Pepe. It was a little heavy and thick in texture but the flavors and the lump crab made up for it! The gluten free cake was shared by the table and enough for all to feel just the tiniest bit gluttonous! I look forward to returning to Envie to check out more of their menu and perhaps be able to have the same waitress.

Ordered the crab Rangoon dip, yummy crunch, cali roll with cream cheese, pad Thai, croque monsieur (because mom has never tried it and figured it could be worth a try), gouda Mac and cheese, chicken hibachi. $89+ Sushi, American and an eclectic mix of cuisine here. The cali roll is so-so. The chicken hibachi was overcooked and not much flavor. Comes with plain rice. I asked if I could get more veggies, another staffer said yes. Never saw one more piece of veggie at all, beyond what comes with the hibachi. The croque monsieur is ok, not super flavorful, the cheese on top seems like an afterthought. The crab Rangoon dip was decent. Wontons are nicely fried. Pitas aren't too bad. The smoked Gouda is quite good, the cork screw noodles are perfect with the cheese blend. The pad that is just okay, could have used a lime and some bean sprouts. Bar feel inside. Glad they have booths, my mother feels more comfortable in them, more closed off and protective than a table and chairs in the middle of the dining area. Our waitress wasn't too bad. Did end up interacting with other staff for items. We asked one waiter with chin length hair on his left side and short or shaved on the right side to take a picture, he looked annoyed and couldn't be bothered to take a picture of my family. He only took one picture and it was bleary and far away. Glad this sour grape didn't wait on us today. Phew!
