I ordered the pear pizza without the meat, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors worked perfectly together, and I never felt like I was missing anything by skipping the meat. My sisters each ordered different pizzas and thoroughly enjoyed them, while my nephew had a burger that disappeared quickly, which is always a good sign. My wife ordered the bruschetta and spoke so highly of it that I had to try some myself. She was right, it was delightful. Another pleasant surprise was the atmosphere. The restaurant was quite busy, with a full bar and a group celebrating some kind of event, yet the noise level remained very manageable. As someone who is sensitive to loud environments, that can make or break a dining experience, and Zoobie's got it right. For context, we visited on a weekday around 2:00 PM, so that certainly may have contributed to the comfortable atmosphere. Still, every aspect of our visit exceeded expectations. Great food, attentive service, a welcoming environment, and perhaps most impressively, pizza that won over a skeptic from New Jersey. With the dance bar vibes and being a 'gay bar', it's wildly confusing that someone in leadership must be homophobic and could direct the bouncer to tell two gay men to stop kissing. For what it's worth, I've enjoyed the drinks that I've had here. But the bar clearly doesn't know what it wants to be...and based upon my experience, it certainly isn't a safe space for the queer community.

We walked in and were greeted with a long communal table all set up with a tablecloth - they do a Thanksgiving potluck each year and there were a ton of people there already. We luckily got a booth with some good views of the few TVs they have and the crowd was friendly and all decked out in Lions gear. The bartender was super friendly and let us know that the food would be ready in about an hour. It's free to eat as much as you want, and they had TONS of food, including at least 3 turkeys, lots of sides, desserts, and it looked like they were setting up for a mac and cheese competition. I kept saying how nice it was to have this spot for the community and it really felt very welcoming. I love the ornate bar, with the stained glass and big wooden griffins (we think they're griffins anyway). It's such a cool place and if I lived nearby I think I'd want to be a regular here. It's always nice to feel welcomed in a townie bar like this and I think we have a new Thanksgiving tradition!
