Absolutely loved visiting Red Cedar Spirits for the first time. I am a sucker for a deal so I bought a Groupon for a distillery tour, appetizer, and two cocktails to go and my significant other and I paid a visit just before it expired for date night. They have a full menu of house-made craft cocktails and wine, with three board options for appetizers. The charcuterie board comes with the Groupon but they let us get the Mediterranean board instead. We opted to take the appetizer to go because they had a food truck on-site (Suns Out Buns Out) and we wanted to give it a go. I tried the Oak Berry Buzz and Cranberry Clove Punch cocktails and my significant other tried the Gold Rush. We had no complaints about any of our drinks and our favorite was the Cranberry Clove Punch. We got the Pixie Elixir and Lavender Bee's Knees cocktails to go and we're looking forward to trying them. They have on-site bourbon samples if you want to try a small sip of their option straight, and they sell bottles to go as well. All-in-all, we enjoyed our visit. The customer service was great a

Amazing place to relax and grab drinks! Really high quality cocktails. They have the perfect little munchies that are simple but still something yummy to snack on. It was a unique and relaxing atmosphere when we went and I'd love to go back.

So wonderful. The cocktails are crafted with a careful hand and I love the ambiance. It's a great break from the traditional bar scene and such a nice, relaxing place to chat and share stories with close friends. A small fireplace is in the far corner, giving the entire space a homey feel. You can play board/card games or just hang out - there's a small selection of meat/cheese/bread trays, nothing big (and they're a little pricey) but nice to chomp on. The cocktails and spirits are definitely the star here. The staff is phenomenal as well. We relied heavily on our server's recommendations, and she gave us some great ones. I have a hard time describing cocktails, but Red Cedar Spirits definitely made me question why I have ever spent money on cocktails that were not as wonderful as these. I'm not sure when they have the winter cocktail menu (*) available until, but we had the following from the winter menu: Chai Latte - as told by my friend, "it's literally like a boozy chai latte!" Tri-Apple-on - I had this one. It's like someone extracted everything that makes an apple delicious - the crispness, the tang, the tender sweetness - and put it into a cocktail. it's not an apple. But it sure captures the essence of an apple well... That's what I was hoping for and that's what I got :) Gold Rush - so unique! definitely a more "mature", harder to place flavor... but with a nice bourbon-y finish. From their classic menu: Ginger Gimlet - fresh, clean, and like a moscow mule but with none of the filler. garnished with candied ginger. My friend almost started crying tears of joy when she tasted this. Thyme Collins - "This is something you'd drink on the porch of a huge farmhouse during a sunset." Greyhound - Friend finished the night off with this. It is pleasantly grapefruity but not in a saccharine way. In a few sentences: GO HERE. It is worth every penny, and tucked away in the neighborhoods of East Lansing, is truly a hidden wonder. I will be back again and again!!

Tasting room for MSU's artisanal spirits program. They distill whiskey, bourbon, rye, brandy, gon and vodka. Amazing products and knowledgable staff, a gem just outside East Lansing. Only open Thursday to Sunday.

Wonderful locally brewed distilled spirits. Try this place out. I'll be back. Hard ciders, brandies, whiskeys and wine. Great people , too!

Cute place, beautiful cocktails at great prices, -1 star because they seem short staffed and could be friendlier.

Our dinner here was just really, really good. We started with the garlic bean dip and house-made…read moretortilla crisps--perfectly salted, piping hot, and honestly hard to stop eating. Our server, Will, suggested a wine that turned out to be spot-on: a dry, subtle Chardonnay, nicely chilled and presented in a granite cooler on our table like it was royalty. Loved that detail. The entrées did not disappoint. My husband had the salmon, delicately enhanced with salmoriglio, served with wild rice atop a light bed of bok choy and baby carrots--simple, fresh, and perfectly balanced. I had the crab-stuffed shrimp, which was absolutely fabulous, also with wild rice, baby carrots, and that sneaky little layer of bok choy you barely notice but totally appreciate. It was a busy Saturday night, so definitely make reservations--it's worth it. The atmosphere struck the perfect balance: lively but not loud, elegant without being stuffy--the kind of place that makes you feel justified putting on heels and lipstick just because. And a special shoutout to GM Brad, who was absolutely wonderful, along with the rest of the staff. Warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming--service like that makes a great meal unforgettable. We'll absolutely be back.

Dinner and service, however, was a huge disappointment. The 3 differnt pasta dishes ordered were bland and the pasta overcooked. The Carbonara tasted like Alfredo with some bacon pieces thrown in. While the accompaniments to the Branzino were good, the fish was overcooked and dry. Server was inattentive and didn't check on how the mains were. They also couldn't get the bill correct. We won't be back for a while. Hopefully, things will improve with time.

Well place is nice with tall bar tables and a few low tables but food is just okay. Ordered the…read morehummus appetizer. Got big size glob of hummus that had the consistency of play dough and very dry. Veggies were celery, carrots, sliced cucumbers and some fried 1/2 round (ritz sized) chip. For me at least the appetizer wasn't very tasty and I'm glad I had some water to drink! Ordered some soup and soup was decent but ordering a "bowl" results in getting a 1 1/2 size cup of soup. A member of my party ordered the football shaped pot pie which had a nice presentation with some burnt edges. To me at least it was more of a corn and chicken pot pie instead of having the vegetables I'm used to seeing (peas, green beans, etc). Tastes fine but I've tasted much better. One member of the party loved the sweet potato tots and their wrap. Only one person tending the bar and tables. Food took a while to be served. Tip level started at 20%! I'm not interested in going back.

They were microwaved and still had the stems on them which means they weren't cleaned up at all. Really nasty and not what you would expect from a fine dining spot. The entrees came out and the plates had food stains on them. So the back of the house definitely isn't following best practices when it comes to cleaning and sanitizing which is a really huge eww. This used to be a great spot to get a good meal but things have definitely changed for the worse. Service was not good either. We saw 3 groups of people leave after not being acknowledged by the wait staff. This place needs new management asap.
