Well place is nice with tall bar tables and a few low tables but food is just okay. Ordered the hummus appetizer. Got big size glob of hummus that had the consistency of play dough and very dry. Veggies were celery, carrots, sliced cucumbers and some fried 1/2 round (ritz sized) chip. For me at least the appetizer wasn't very tasty and I'm glad I had some water to drink! Ordered some soup and soup was decent but ordering a "bowl" results in getting a 1 1/2 size cup of soup. A member of my party ordered the football shaped pot pie which had a nice presentation with some burnt edges. To me at least it was more of a corn and chicken pot pie instead of having the vegetables I'm used to seeing (peas, green beans, etc). Tastes fine but I've tasted much better. One member of the party loved the sweet potato tots and their wrap. Only one person tending the bar and tables. Food took a while to be served. Tip level started at 20%! We went for dinner a couple days ago. Ordered the Brussels sprouts as an appetizer and they came out literally 5 minutes after we ordered them. They were microwaved and still had the stems on them which means they weren't cleaned up at all. Really nasty and not what you would expect from a fine dining spot. The entrees came out and the plates had food stains on them. So the back of the house definitely isn't following best practices when it comes to cleaning and sanitizing which is a really huge eww. This used to be a great spot to get a good meal but things have definitely changed for the worse. Service was not good either. We saw 3 groups of people leave after not being acknowledged by the wait staff. This place needs new management asap. read more

The waitress was good but the food was terrible. Had the taco salad which was supposed to have house made tortilla strips. When it came, it looked like someone crumbled store bought taco chips over the top. The jalapeño pepper slices were very thick. There were lots of chunks of taco seasoned hamburger throughout. There was a lot more hamburger than salad. The romaine lettuce had big slices. The tomatoes were a small dice. You almost could not taste them. I think Taco Bell's salad was better. I kind-of forgot about this place after the pandemic. It is easy to get distracted by new places that pop up, but I encourage people to re-visit this one. We love the big patio and actually didn't make it inside. My husband and I opted to sample all of the selections on the happy hour list. We did a nice variety of beers. All the apps were tasty and seasoned appropriately. The beer was delicious. Everything was super and they even honored the coupon I had. Fantastic! This is a great little eatery tucked away in a strip mall. I've only come here in large groups, so I've only experienced the dining in one of the private rooms. They have two, the Napa and the Tuscan. I love the intimate setting they create and fire in the fireplace enhances the ambiance. The servers have also always been attentive and helpful. The strawberry cucumber mojito is a must! They have a ton of options for cocktails and wine/beer including flights. The lunch menu is pretty standard and includes sandwiches, pasta, and soups/salads. I've tried a handful of items and they've all been decent. Also do yourself a favor and upgrade to the truffle fries-it's definitely worth it. read more

Tried this place for the second time last night and the food was just as bad as the first time. I should not have given it another chance. We stopped in for a drink and apps and the small plate of nachos had hardly any cheese! The beans were also missing. Come on Tap Room - Nachos must have cheese, plenty of it!! If you want to be skimpy in some areas, fine. Limiting cheese to approximately 1 tablespoon per nacho is NOT a good look. It was the end of a very long Monday and we were so disappointed. After our disappointing app we shared the Cobb salad. Chicken was over grilled and dry. The flavor was good but unfortunately overshadowed by the dryness. You could easily increase revenue by paying more attention to what goes out of your kitchen. Plain and simple. We go out several times per week and would happily add your tap room to our list of local options if the food was decent. read more

What a great place with great food and great service. Came in around 8:30 PM with a group of eight following a graduation at MSU. Met the Manager who told Me they close at 9:00 but they would stay open for us to order food. We were able to have a few drinks, appetizers and sandwich which everyone agreed were excellent. This is an okay place and I'll come by again hoping for an opportunity to increase the rating. I ordered a beer and Chicago dog. The dog came out cool, and soggy (fell through the bun) and had sweet relish, chopped onion and tomatoes in it. Pretty bland for a Chicago dog. I'd like them to add sport peppers, green relish, and some celery salt to the mix (kind of like a Chicago dog). Between a dog and beer, it ran about $15. It's comparable to a price for the same thing in downtown Chicago with a view of the skyline. This was a view of a strip mall... The server Beth is extremely rude, obnoxious and outright out of control. She is loud and offensive to some customers and about ok with others...one would think she has a dual personality. She informed me that I there is no room outside when clearly there were two table available, then, when I said, I can wait, she informed me that no food will be served. This place doesn't look like much from the outside -- it's in a strip mall next to its big brother, Dusty's Tap Room. But it's worth finding if you're looking for an intimate tap room with an excellent beer list. There were about 20 great beers on tap when I visited, many from Michigan breweries but also from elsewhere. I had a Short's black cherry porter and a collaboration IPA. Both were delicious. I had already had dinner, but I splurged on a piece of key lime pie. Because why not? It made for a great pairing. Despite being in a strip mall, this had a really cool feel inside. There were three TVs at the bar but it was also quiet and perfect for having a conversation. And service was attentive. It's not a place to go if you're looking for a lively crowd. But sometimes -- OK, most of the time -- I prefer a quiet place to sip a great beer and talk. And this is a great spot for that. read more

I ordered the torta rustica, the turkey tasted like Oscar Meyer lunch meat and was in need of some serious seasoning. My husband's stuffed chicken tasted like wedding buffet food, the mashed potatoes were even bad. For a restaurant associated with Dusty's Cellar I was extremely disappointed. While the service was good and our dessert was delicious I was left wondering what happened to my favorite date night spot. The perfect place for an awkward first date. or a break up. Those are some of our most memorable experiences with the tap room. Regardless, delicious food, high quality ingredients, great beer selection, and competent wait staff. Also--towers of beer and outdoor seating. We've had things ranging from spinach artichoke dip to turkey sandwiches on a pretzel bun, cheeseburgers to salads. All met with the bethycorn stamp of approval. The tap room is the red-headed step child (not really) of one of the best restaurants in town--Dusty's Wine Cellar--so you know the quality is good. The Tap Room is more of a high-class bar atmosphere rather than restaurant. Great service and beer selection. Prices are about average for alcohol and food. The food isn't anything to write home about though. Service was exceptional, Allison was out server. My burger was dry even though it was cooked medium, exactly how I ordered it. I suspect the patty was sirloin, which isn't bad by itself, but when combined with a pretzel bun, makes for an exceptionally dry burger. The fries are good, but obviously from GFS. I definitely will be back for the drinks and atmosphere, but probably won't ever eat here again. read more

Pretty sucky service I'd say; we didn't get fresh silverware between courses, we waited a long time to get a server, the experience was not worth the price. The salad and soup were basic. The bread was not fantastic, butter frozen. I had an eggplant dish and it was basically sugar, everything about it was sweet. 3 stars because the half roasted duck was cooked well and the lamb chops appetizers. The sides were soo oily (grits and green beans), it was too much fat for one person to eat. Descent wine selection tho. I got the buffalo wings and they were awful. No crispness whatsoever. Just mushy skin doused in sauce. The sauce didn't taste terrible but the wings texture was really bad. Technically speaking, this is a part of Dusty's Cellar, but a few doors down and completely different vibe. The is an upscale pub with a nice bar area, cool decor and a nice outdoor seating area. They essentially serve your standard pub type stuff but they put the Dusty's upscale twist on everything. The food is very good. The drinks are not super cheap, but good as expected. If you are looking for a semi-hip place that is a bit more upscale than most in this town full of college bars, this is a good option! read more
