Why is this place so good?!? I've tried a lot of tiki places and finally came to a personal…read moreconclusion that the only ones worth going to are on the west coast. I know, I know, there are good ones elsewhere, but it really seems like you have to go to California for the real deal. Well, those of you for whom South Lyon, Michigan is a frequent destination are in luck. Waycaster is the real deal. Of course it'll hard to find, what with the two other buildings in town, but hopefully the massive public transit system will help you out here. (Totally not making fun of the town- I live in a small town and only wish I had a tiki bar!) Seriously, if you're anywhere near it, or even if you can manage to lengthen your DTW layover and get a one day rental car, go check it out.

From authentic decor to music to seating options and last but not least perfectly crafted tiki cocktails! The most beautifully displayed private collection placed in a bar. The space has doubled and the new side is open. It's lovely and perfect for larger groups (or more intimate tables). Already planning the private party I'd love to host here. Thank you for letting strangers into what feels like a private tiki venue. Chill, relaxing, and in. Escapism at its very best!

We were both out early yesterday, and stopped here for a drink by the water…read more This place has been around for a number of years, and has a porch that actually sits over the water on Walled Lake. We ordered the chicken nachos and a couple of drinks, and enjoyed the view. This is a come as you are place, and has pretty good food from what I could see. I'll be back to work my way around their menu! Service was ok, but he was training someone, which is normally distracting. We understood, everybody has to learn. Great view and always busy!

I wouldn't send these to my worst enemy. I'm not sure how someone can make nachos taste terrible. Sad. Save your money cook nachos at home ! My BF had the perch dinner and said it would be an 8 out of 10 stars. We sat at the bar- it was fine - we watched some sports. There were quite a few drunks being loud. Manny was the bartender - he was working the rail and also people at tables. He seemed to know everyone . He wasn't overly nice but he wasn't bad. The vibe was sort of like a basement bar - we sat to the right of the front door. I like $4 bottle beers I would try this place again in the warmer months for a beer but I really have zero desire to ever eat here again.

Came in for first time on a Friday evening just after the happy hour beer special had expired…read more Ordered a "Tall" draft expecting a TALL as served at most other places in Lansing area. When it came in a small clear plastic cup, I asked server George about it being a large and he pointed out it said 20 oz on the bottom of the cup. The bill called it a "Schooner", boy what a mis-label if I ever saw one. Would hate to see their small (regular size) beer. Maybe it is served in a dixie cup. My fish basket 5 pc, was great with plenty of fries and coleslaw, and hushpuppies. Wife chose the Jumbo Coconut shrimp basket that really contained "Jumbo" shrimp and plenty of dipping sauce. Overall fair for the money, EXCEPT the pretend Schooner thing. Guess rule is if you want any beer bargain there, must arrive before the 7 pm cutoff time. Young man waiter George will do good in this industry.

READ WHOLE THING…read more While me and my boyfriend were there we ordered, a maple margarita, waters, vodka cranberry, pretzel bites, 8in pepperoni pizza and the street tacos with jalapeno corn on the side (extra). out waitress was very very nice. she did everything we needed and was super polite. the maple margarita was one of the hardest to get down drinks i've ever ordered. tequila and cinnamon do not mix do not get that drink. the restaurant was a nice cute dive bar vibe and if perfect for dive bar quality. but the food. my tacos were good with the corn on the side - i love corn so i ordered that extra - i was happy with what i got. the pretzels we ordered were amazing and the picky eater boyfriend i have liked them too. he is the pickiest eater ive ever met. he did not like the pizza. you cant expect the best from a dive bar. i had a good experience my boyfriend did not, but i did not like that margarita. i had an overall 8/10 experience for a dive bar while my bf says he had a 4/10. take that with what you will. i would go again. he wouldn't.
