We had a party of 8 and no reservations. As I drove up to the establishment I was taken by the great views of the lake and the public beach. They have two outside patios with one being a 2nd floor observation deck with a bar, beautiful, if you can get a seat as it is very popular. They accommodated us quickly and we were seated within 5 min without a reservation. Servers were attentive, helpful and friendly. The menu is large and varied and the prices moderate. The Ruben, a house special, was recommended and I ordered it. When it arrived I almost lost my mind, it was huge and delicious! Easily enough for two. Everyone in the party also really enjoyed their choices as well. Cocktails were on point. The one outstanding surprise was it had a bowling alley attached, but the noise from bowling was not discernable and what a cool thing to do perhaps during a winter visit. We will defiantly be back and I strongly recommended it even if it is a fair drive in from the expressway. Worth it.

I went here for the first time in 2026 after constantly hearing good things about this place. I was…read morereally surprised at how extravagantly themed the restaurant is. The theming is truly off the charts with so many cool things everywhere you look. I've been in both the lower and upper floors of the restaurant and the fun follows all throughout. The food was good and had good portion sizes. The menu has a lot of Hawaiian and Asian flavors represented. The drink menu is massive with a great section of NA mocktails that were really fairly priced. We got drinks and entrees and the entire process took around 45 minutes with me struggling to decide what to order. The service is really attentive without being overbearing. The use of both servers and food runners allowed for the process to be quick while not feeling rushed at all. Our server also gave great recommendations and was helpful throughout the night. While the price of things may feel high, I do think the ambiance was pretty worth the cost and the food was enjoyable! I'd definitely come back.

We had reservations and did have to wait about a half an hour to be seated, but we were brought to a table in an intimate little nook which made the wait worth it. To be honest, you shouldn't have to wait that long when you have reserved a table as a specific time. Russell was our server and greeted us immediately. Other staff members actually brought out the food we ordered but rusted check on us occasionally. He was personable and friendly. We started with cocktails. Hubby had the Penicillin cocktail substituting in bourbon. I had the non-alcoholic Orange Creamsicle. I love that Max's had a few NA options among their huge cocktail list. We shared the wonton nachos as a starter, which had huge cubes of tuna on top the lightest wontons along with wakame, jalapenos, edamame, avocado, and pineapple salsa. Amazing! For dinner hubby had the drunken noodles, black garlic chicken thighs with cabbage, brussels sprouts, carrots and peppers on top of rice noodles with peanut sauce. I tasted his dish, and it was so flavorful and the chicken was very tender. I ordered the tuna poke bowl, sushi rice surrounded by wakame, avocado, carrots, shallots, and edamame then topped with poke sauce. So good! I did have to send it back, though, because the tuna came out with furikake after I told our server that I don't do seeds. The kitchen flubbed up, but they were happy to make my dish seed free. This restaurant was definitely a fun visit and it reminded me of Kon-Tiki-Ports in Chicago. If you're in the Grand Rapids area, I do recommend stopping by for dinner or sit at the bar for one of their cocktail creations. The atmosphere is fantastic!

We ordered the chicken nachos and a couple of drinks, and enjoyed the view. This is a come as you are place, and has pretty good food from what I could see. I'll be back to work my way around their menu! Service was ok, but he was training someone, which is normally distracting. We understood, everybody has to learn. Great view and always busy!

I wouldn't send these to my worst enemy. I'm not sure how someone can make nachos taste terrible. Sad. Save your money cook nachos at home ! My BF had the perch dinner and said it would be an 8 out of 10 stars. We sat at the bar- it was fine - we watched some sports. There were quite a few drunks being loud. Manny was the bartender - he was working the rail and also people at tables. He seemed to know everyone . He wasn't overly nice but he wasn't bad. The vibe was sort of like a basement bar - we sat to the right of the front door. I like $4 bottle beers I would try this place again in the warmer months for a beer but I really have zero desire to ever eat here again.

About halfway through, everyone started getting hungry, so I asked my sister-in-law to pick a restaurant in Old Town that looked appealing. She chose Zoobie's because she thought she had seen it featured on a Food Network show, and the menu looked diverse enough that everyone in our group would find something they liked. Being from New Jersey, my sister-in-law firmly believes there is no good pizza outside of New Jersey or New York. Well, Zoobie's proved that great pizza can be found anywhere. I ordered the pear pizza without the meat, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors worked perfectly together, and I never felt like I was missing anything by skipping the meat. My sisters each ordered different pizzas and thoroughly enjoyed them, while my nephew had a burger that disappeared quickly, which is always a good sign. My wife ordered the bruschetta and spoke so highly of it that I had to try some myself. She was right, it was delightful. Another pleasant surprise was the atmosphere. The restaurant was quite busy, with a full bar and a group celebrating some kind of event, yet the noise level remained very manageable. As someone who is sensitive to loud environments, that can make or break a dining experience, and Zoobie's got it right. For context, we visited on a weekday around 2:00 PM, so that certainly may have contributed to the comfortable atmosphere. Still, every aspect of our visit exceeded expectations. Great food, attentive service, a welcoming environment, and perhaps most impressively, pizza that won over a skeptic from New Jersey. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Old Town Lansing.
