Recently brought a group of 5 for dinner at EnVie. Midweek visit, yet the restaurant was full. Great atmosphere. The bar was crowded as well. Overall, good feel to the venue. Our appetizers were each excellent. Our group ordered the Brussels sprouts and white fish dip. Would order those again. For entres, we enjoyed the burgers, filet mignon, chicken bowl, and crab caps. Each of us enjoyed our meal and agreed we would recommend these plates to family & friends. The service was lights out. Attentive, fast, yet not intrusive. From beginning to end, on a busy evening, the team performed exceptionally. Well done EnVie team. We will certainly be back. read more

I would like to start with everything is done well at this restaurant, I am thrilled with the experience! The restaurant is quaint but with sufficient seating to accommodate both small and medium sized groups. There is ample parking as it is located in a downtown district. The decor is simple modern, nice clean lines every where you look. Our waitress, along with those assisting her with food and drink were abundantly pleasant and welcoming. At one point the waitress prepared to offer me and my dining companions the drink specials and I jokingly asked her if she would "freestyle them" while I beatboxed. She admitted she was horrible but was down to try! We were both horrible but the exchange was fantastic and very personable! We appreciated her and her service throughout our evening. All of the cocktails we selected were well made with high quality liquors, no complaints there! The food. The food, the food was superb! We all enjoy the presentation of our dishes, beautiful and simple! Everything tasted well balanced and flavorful served in perfect portions. Our only complaint here was the pasta in the Cacio e Pepe. It was a little heavy and thick in texture but the flavors and the lump crab made up for it! The gluten free cake was shared by the table and enough for all to feel just the tiniest bit gluttonous! EnVie seems to appreciate the finer details both for the food and drinks. The bartender created some tasty cocktails and used some interesting twists. I had the pork belly which was delicious served with asparagus on a bed of polenta. I think this may be one of the finer dining options near the Capital. Staff were friendly and the bar at least had its share of regulars which to me was a good sign. The decor is upscale, light and inviting. I think EnVie is worth a visit. read more

Wow! Had an absolutely amazing experience here recently. The ambiance, the service, the food--all exceptional. Really unique appetizers and the walleye was probably the best fish dish I've ever gotten at a restaurant. Our server also had a top notch wine recommendation which is my new favorite (and I love that they have a couple tawny port options if you're too full for dessert but want a little something sweet). I don't live in the Lansing area but I would come back just for this restaurant! read more

We didn't have a reservation but got seated at the bar and the nicest bartender took great care of us. The atmosphere is charming & the food selection is quite good. I'm in Lansing/East Lansing, Michigan for the first time and discovered the fantastic EnVie by reading reviews. We had a fabulous time and ate great food. By sitting at the bar I was able to engage with the thoughtful proprietor Lance and EnVie's mixologist Travis who crafted a complex Mezcal Old Fashioned for me. It was a smokey and tasty concoction. EnVie's eclectic menu will capture the fancy of all, listing both down home staples and gourmet creations. My wife's chicken bowl was scrumptious, and my meatloaf as good as Sunday supper at Grandma's. (Not my grandma, but yours. My grandma was known for her latkes) EnVie's hamburgers are amazing, and have garnered national acclaim. Cool, upbeat music played in the background, and EnVie has a hip vibe without an ounce of pretension. With its bright, modern decor, EnVie must be a destination restaurant in this area of Michigan. Okay I love the food here and we've been here twice. The food is great. The drinks are also super unique! My issue is we came at 8pm and they were so rude. Within a few minutes of sitting, they came over and talked about how long the food takes to cook AKA order now so we can leave by 9ish. Sure if we came in a half hour before closing but it was a full hour. So a super nice date night, this place turned into an Applebees real quick. They also seemed annoyed by ordering the drink with the smoke apologizing to guests at the bar. Why offer it if it annoys you? Kitchen staff also came in to drink at the bar 845ish which is fine but is that why they rushed us through dinner? I'm sorry this is Lansing so a 200 date night and a very nice tip, we are doing date night elsewhere. I left this because I do love the food but I hope the owners address the service. read more

Easily the best meal in Lansing, and at or near the top of the list of the best meals I've ever had. Try the sea bass or the walleye. Both are amazing. Dinner here last Friday night to celebrate son's graduation from MSU. Made a reservation based on reviews since we were flying in from out of town. Didn't know what to expect. Hands down, one of the best meals I've had ever. From the atmosphere to the cocktails it was amazing. Staff was awesome as well. Went with the short ribs and they were unreal. The flavor and tenderness were off the charts. I will probably never return to Lansing, but EnVie makes me want to a whole lot. read more

This is an update; I want to say we have been here three times and each and every time, we have had a delicious and unique meal. The ambiance is cool and refreshing, clean and comfortable. The service is the best I've had in years- between the waitstaff, bartender and owner/manager, we were not neglected. As it was our anniversary, we were given a glass of sparkling wine as complementary along with a hand written note. We were also given complementary appetizer (arancini) which was delicious. We ordered the chickpea salsa as an appetizer with crunchy, homemade tortilla chips with a hint of sweetness before moving in to our entrees, which the famous chicken bowl and Strega New York frites. We had leftovers for lunch and they were just as good. I cannot say enough that this restaurant is the real deal; a perfect 10. read more

My husband and I we here about a month ago for a much needed date night out. We split a nice bottle of wine. I did the shrimp cacio e Pepe. It was wonderful. My husband had the seafood risotto. It was the first time he did mussels. He said he keeps thinking of how good it was. This is high praise from a man who was vegan for fifteen years and finally came around to seafood. The service was great. We did a blueberry goat cheese appetizer that was fine, but not too memorable. I think next time we will do the whitefish spread. Good food but crappy old fashion. Bartend asks me how was my old fashion was, i honestly answered not great. It was watery. And how can a decent bartend miss a a cherry in an old fashion. He responded with "you drank the whole thing" lets just say it feels like diversity us not a thing there. Just an opinion. Very cold treatment. This place was a shock to me! I'm from the Lansing area and I never knew it existed but I'm so glad I got a chance to try it out. The shrimp was amazing and the steak was really good as well! The pasta noodles were stuck together in one large clump which was quite bizarre to me. I didn't enjoy having to eat a literal ball of pasta noodles. The vibe was elegant and the music was low enough that you could still hear the person sitting across from you. The waitress did just stand there at our table a few times while my company and I were talking which was kind of awkward. So besides those two things I had a really great time here! We loved this place - fair prices and large portion sizes, delicious food and drink, excellent service. Their menu is so interesting, we had a hard time choosing! We started with the smoked whitefish pate which was so delicate with the perfect texture, served with yummy bread. Both of my companions went with their famous bowl and both loved it - you get lots of yummy potatoes and the steak tips - which were also on my pasta - were so tender and delicious. My only slight complaint is that the pasta seemed a bit clumped together - but I do know that it's homemade pasta, which is a bit stickier, and it did absorb the sauce nicely, which tasted great. Just toss it a bit when it first arrives at the table, would be my suggestion. Delicious. I also took home a slice of the cinnamon chocolate cheesecake they were offering and I'm glad I did! A perfect cheesecake with chocolate sauce. We will return every time we visit Lansing. read more

COCKTAILS: We first showed up at EnVie looking for excellent cocktails, and we were not disappointed, in fact I think we have found the best bartender in town-- Travis! He's a mixologist, and worked hard to give me what I really wanted-- a clover club with a twist-- a pink lady! They use amazing ingredients, from house made pomegranate grenadine and maraschino cherries. He was down to teach us a few things too, about apple brandy and showed us a special botanical gin that we now buy for our home bar! FOOD: I just had my birthday dinner here and had been eyeing the scallop risotto for a while-- again, I was not disappointed. The scallops were huge, and well seared-- the risotto was rich and savory and all the flavors worked so magically together on the plate. DESSERTS: the desserts are always rotating so you never know what you'll be offered! I'm personally not a fan of chocolate desserts but they seem to usually have a selection of multiple chocolate desserts (cake, mousse), I usually go for the non-chocolate one-- the first dessert was unforgettable, this maple cheesecake from Detroit. The other desserts here like lemon raspberry cake are also pretty darn delicious, full of flavor, not too sweet. All in all, we're very grateful to have found a restaurant that "gets us" as foodies. read more

My friends wanted to do a girls night out in Lansing and as EnVie was already high in the Yelp locations for downtown it seemed perfect. We were easily able to make a reservation. There is a nice selection of winter cocktails out now featured in the photos which were very tasty. The food was AMAZING. I have never tried ricotta dip and it definitely hit the spot as a perfect appetizer. The veggie fries were also shared by the table and smothered with Gouda and Brussels. Finally the seafood risotto was so delicious. Everyone was satisfied with their meals and the ambiance of EnVie is also super cute and perfect for a date night as well. Here for the third time in two weeks- this time was for our anniversary- they gave us a sweet card and celebratory drinks! Great waitstaff with a great attitude! Top notch crab toast appetizer, the en vie signature bowl was fantastic and the pork belly was superb (super yummy blue cheese polenta). The burger and fries that my son had the other night was excellent and two thumbs up for the meatloaf from two different grandparents. We adored EnVie and were very pleasantly surprised by how good all the food was. We were celebrating our 2 year anniversary and ordered the Cacio y Pepe and a Steak Bowl (I believe the EnVie Special Bowl, something along those lines). It was a bit of a last minute choice and the food was phenomenal. The atmosphere felt very cool and sleek and we enjoyed being in it. There was a homeless man lingering around outside the window for a few minutes but that's not the restaurant's fault by any means. Only thing that could've been better was the pouring of the wine; the server seemed a bit inexperienced with it but it wasn't a real issue. We would definitely come back and recommend! read more

We have wanted to try this place for sometime and decided to tonight after seeing all the precautions they're taking. Tonight was the first night we had to report our name and phone because of the state orders and contact tracing, not a big deal whatsoever! We know how important it is to support these businesses in this time. Food was phenomenal and we will be back to enjoy different entrées. They have reasonable prices and I would love to get the chicken sandwich to go sometime. Also not sure how they made their fries but they're amazing as well as the asparagus.
