Challah French Toast - stuffed with Michigan apple compote, bourbon caramel drizzle
Callie T.

This restaurant is on the same level for Lobby. Atmosphere is pretty elegant and one would suspect the breakfast prices would be real high like at resorts. Maybe due to it being at Michigan State University, they are reasonable. Most of the dishes on breakfast menu are $10-12. There are also menu items marked GF for gluten free. Food was delicious, service quite good though if they take your coat from you at the front, they don't bring it back so just grab it from the closet on way out. See the photos - yum! Three of us ate here.

What a hidden gem!! I have been going to MSU for 30 years. I started as a student, onward to a grad student and then years of teaching at MSU. I have some local East Lansing favorite restaurants, but, it never occurred to me to try this restaurant, located within the Kellogg Center Hotel and Conference Center. I happen to be attending a conference and I wanted to give this place a try. It did not disappoint! The ambience is fantastic! Upscale, but comfortable. Each table is set up, so one would feel like they are in their own private dining area. The bar is plentiful. So many varieties of Scotch and IPA's, as well as your regular libations. They have unique drink specials throughout the week. The service is excellent! Attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. They offer advice and they also give you the time to enjoy the drinks and the food. The food!! Love the tapas, or small plates menu. All the ingredients are local. The scallops were so sweet, succulent and full of flavor. I had the scallops two ways. One with a Michigan cherry glaze and the other with a blood orange sauce! So good! I also had the truffle fries, crispy and they were better than regular fries. This is a great date spot and I also saw a lot of people in groups as well. I will definitely return and I look forward to it. Oh, huge wine collection as well.

Returned for breakfast and had the biscuits and gravy. Yum! The gravy was savory and full of their house-made sausage, and the biscuits were buttery and light. The potatoes are a great crunchy consistency, but weren't hot enough. The view and service was great as usual.

Go Green

Nice little spot in the Kellogg Conference Hotel and Conference center. I stopped in for breakfast, and it was much better than I had expected! I ordered the Go Green and the half grapefruit. The Go Green is avocado toast with poached eggs and a pumpkin sunflower crisp and it was super tasty. The crisp added a nice crunch and the eggs were poached perfectly. The choice of toasted bread though was the best part- super yummy. It was decently priced, probably expensive for a college campus though. I'll definitely be back because it was good and conveniently in my hotel.

Impeccable service, decent menu, decent value. Can't beat the location when you stay at the campus hotel.

Our appetizers were each excellent. Our group ordered the Brussels sprouts and white fish dip. Would order those again. For entres, we enjoyed the burgers, filet mignon, chicken bowl, and crab caps. Each of us enjoyed our meal and agreed we would recommend these plates to family & friends. The service was lights out. Attentive, fast, yet not intrusive. From beginning to end, on a busy evening, the team performed exceptionally. Well done EnVie team. We will certainly be back.

The restaurant is quaint but with sufficient seating to accommodate both small and medium sized groups. There is ample parking as it is located in a downtown district. The decor is simple modern, nice clean lines every where you look. Our waitress, along with those assisting her with food and drink were abundantly pleasant and welcoming. At one point the waitress prepared to offer me and my dining companions the drink specials and I jokingly asked her if she would "freestyle them" while I beatboxed. She admitted she was horrible but was down to try! We were both horrible but the exchange was fantastic and very personable! We appreciated her and her service throughout our evening. All of the cocktails we selected were well made with high quality liquors, no complaints there! The food. The food, the food was superb! We all enjoy the presentation of our dishes, beautiful and simple! Everything tasted well balanced and flavorful served in perfect portions. Our only complaint here was the pasta in the Cacio e Pepe. It was a little heavy and thick in texture but the flavors and the lump crab made up for it! The gluten free cake was shared by the table and enough for all to feel just the tiniest bit gluttonous! I look forward to returning to Envie to check out more of their menu and perhaps be able to have the same waitress.

STUPENDOUS! AMAZEBALLS! DELICIOUS! So many more wonderful things to scream from the rooftops…read moreabout Capital Prime. The service was better than any other establishment in recent memory, possibly ever in my life. Lily was our server and was amazing. Drinks, appetizers, entrees and desert quality was so far above expectation (i mean, this is lansing after all, not New York or Chicago) that my wife and i were extremely impressed. As a Retired Navy veteran ive been all over the world, 37 countries actually, and Capital Prime is easily top 10 meals ever, possibly top 5. What wonderful decor, ambiance, attitudes, service, quality. Cant say enough about how much we enjoyed our anniversary dinner last night. A side note about some other reviews: Wow, reading some of these less-than-stellar reviews made me laugh a little. One was a disheveled un showered couple with a dog, feeling discriminated against because of her disability, had to include they are both MDs like that makes them better and thus entitled to be dirty and smelly with a filthy animal around a fine dining atmosphere. 1-star rating because these disgusting people expect the world to bow to their disabled war veteran doctor ass thinks common decency doesn't apply to them. I can hear her now, karen ass war vet yelling about how its illegal to refuse a service dog entry, on a packed night, people trying to enjoy their meal with dirty vagabonds and their stench. Disgusting. Another reviewer gave three stars after being seated in a room with his group that is reserved for parties, not as elegantly dressed as other areas of the restaurant. He must be so fancy.

There was one small piece of lobster in this bite, so not the most generous portion for the price. Main: 6 Oz Filet Mignon 3/5 - The meat was cooked well (to medium rare) and had a great crust on the exterior. This carried the dish (as it should). The accompanying sides, mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies, would be best left out. The broccolini and green beans were salty and overcooked, extremely soft and cooked well past it's ideal texture. The mashed potatoes were ok, but are just there as a filler. Side: Michigan Kale Salad 2/5 - The ingredient list sounded superb, but the execution was not there. The kale pieces were LARGE and were hard to eat in bites. It desperately needed another chop (or few) and a deep tissue massage. The salad was also HEAVY on the red onion - if that's your thing, then this is a great salad for you. The red onion was added with a heavy hand and needed to be soaked in water prior to serving to get rid of the pungent bite. Pass. The free bread rolls were ok as well, but I would rather have a Texas Road House roll.

Ordered the crab Rangoon dip, yummy crunch, cali roll with cream cheese, pad Thai, croque monsieur (because mom has never tried it and figured it could be worth a try), gouda Mac and cheese, chicken hibachi. $89+ Sushi, American and an eclectic mix of cuisine here. The cali roll is so-so. The chicken hibachi was overcooked and not much flavor. Comes with plain rice. I asked if I could get more veggies, another staffer said yes. Never saw one more piece of veggie at all, beyond what comes with the hibachi. The croque monsieur is ok, not super flavorful, the cheese on top seems like an afterthought. The crab Rangoon dip was decent. Wontons are nicely fried. Pitas aren't too bad. The smoked Gouda is quite good, the cork screw noodles are perfect with the cheese blend. The pad that is just okay, could have used a lime and some bean sprouts. Bar feel inside. Glad they have booths, my mother feels more comfortable in them, more closed off and protective than a table and chairs in the middle of the dining area. Our waitress wasn't too bad. Did end up interacting with other staff for items. We asked one waiter with chin length hair on his left side and short or shaved on the right side to take a picture, he looked annoyed and couldn't be bothered to take a picture of my family. He only took one picture and it was bleary and far away. Glad this sour grape didn't wait on us today. Phew!

The countless times I have entered and felt the entire mood of the place and then suffered through it. I am not an old codger, dear reader. I am fairly optimistic, yet the most expensive issues for dining out are costly. For my time, my wallet and value. With that, I am pleased to offer "Cooperhawk Winery and Restaurant." It is beautiful. Inside and out. It is for the connoisseur and the starter. It is priced right and there is something for everyone. Ordinarily, I would dismiss this type of venue. But it was the occasion of our anniversary and my wife is a wine girl. So I did it. And when we walked in,,, it was stunning. The first thing you will see is the grand wine wall with a long bar in front of it. This is where you can choose wine tastings and flights. Get a little something before dinner. They asked me if I was a card holding member. I laughed and said oh no. By the end of the day, I was. And am glad for it. The staff treats you like you are welcomed guests. Kind. Intuitive... and helpful. They are educated and know their stuff. The wine tasting was outstanding with the Sommelier addressing every facet of the drinks we were trying. And it was delicious. We were called for dinner and sat in the main dining room. Beautiful. Warm. Clean. Immediately, our server showed and wished us a happy anniversary and brought us complimentary champagne. (When you reserve your seats, it asks about special occasions). A bonus. We had a warm soft pretzel loaf with butter as we waited. My wife ordered a filet mignon platter which she defined as excellent. I had a chicken dish with outstanding potatoes and fresh green beans. More wine please. We imbibed. While we were full from the main course they still brought out some truffles to seal the deal. We decided to join the club and got a membership. 2 bottles of exclusive wine a month for $50. A fair value as with it comes wine tastings, complimentary glasses of wine when visiting and several offers a month. We have been back several times, and each is better than the last. I encourage you to come a half hour early to enjoy the spirits and relax before your meal. 10 out of 10.
