Menu options are perhaps a little underwhelming in choice compared to other places though the two dragon rolls I got were tasty. This is a great place for quick take away since the set up inside is more quick service tables. Staff working on the day I was there were nice and are not only making what you order but also taking it to your table. I would assume they do decent business with the nearby school. The area is trying to bounce back from COVID days still but is worth a drop in to this side of town for the variety of places on offer including some delicious sushi. read more

I want to support all my local businesses in the downtown corridor. The setup here is cool. You can come in and grab some Togo sushi in the coolers or you could order Ala carte. Menu is smaller since they only have so much cuts of Fish but it gets the job done. The chef and staff are very nice and attentive. Prices are super affordable and why? Because this is basically supermarket sushi in its own brick and mortar. Literally. With meijer sushi stepping up their games this place is gonna have a very hard time compete. Ill support the local guy over Meijers but if we could all chime in and give Hints from time to time about what he could do to make it even better? This place will be a rocking lunch spot. The food is great! I get the downtown roll almost every time I come in. If I can't find it in the cooler, it only takes a few minutes for them to make it. So now that I work in downtown Lansing, I find myself at Anqi once every week of every other week. It's not the best sushi in town, but it's good enough considering the price and convenience. All the pre-made rolls are pretty solid. They are generally simple, and they satisfy the sushi craving. I wasn't a fan of this place. I really like the concept of a quick, grab and go sushi place. However, I'm not sure I like how this place carried out the concept. It's reasonably priced but it more or less ends there. I had the fire dragon roll and it wasn't cut. I had a spicy pork or beef soup that was salty but otherwise pretty bland. My friend tried the Udon shrimp tempura soup and couldn't finish it. On a positive note, the honey dew melon tea was pretty refreshing and the food was out quick. However most of the food is prepackaged (think grocery store sushi). I wouldn't recommend this place unless you feel rushed and absolutely must have sushi. read more

Mediocre is all I have to say about this joint. Pre-made stuff exactly like you get from a gas station, which are old and bland. Their boba tea feels like something made in your high school chemistry lab. I'd feel awful to use words like "tasty" to describe anything from here. The only thing good about this place is its location. During our only visit, the Taiwanese owners/staff refused to communicate with my friend from China in Mandarin,which he heard they just spoke a moment earlier. Decent quality sushi at an affordable price with very large portions. Also a breath of fresh air when you want a break from sandwich options in downtown Lansing. Had the black dragon roll and it was so filling that I regret buying a second smaller spicy roll (and I hadn't eaten all day). Both were delicious. but the best draw is their hot foods! The friends I was with got some lovely hot soup and beef bowls and I was so jealous how delicious it looked! Service was amicable and the restaurant was quaint, perfect size! Competitive/Snotty Staff - Yuck! I loved this place, went there many times and filled out my punch cards... Until today, that is... The kid working today at AnQi Sushi Express just argued with me about what makes up a Philadelphia Roll. They had a crab salad roll listed as a Philly roll, and when I politely pointed out to him that it was mismarked, he got all snippy and said he's "never had a Philly roll that included salmon - that's weird." Yes, Philly = cream cheese as I agreed, but SALMON too. He was rude, and made a big deal out of my inquiry for no real reason. I love coming to this place when I have downtime between classes at LCC. The staff is really friendly and the prices are reasonable. The sushi is good, but I mean, you get what you pay for. Not as tasty as Omi or Maru, but still satisfies my sushi cravings when I'm at school! Honestly the best thing this place has to offer is their tea drinks and smoothies. What o didn't like was how I tried to order a roll made fresh and they shoved a premade roll at me. Also the miso soup lacks flavor. The place also had a weird old carpet/cleaning supply smell. So happy to finally have sushi in downtown Lansing. This is a small spot but bright and clean. Many of their most popular selections are packed up to go. So far I've only had the spicy tuna roll. It's great to be able to quickly grab a good lunch for $5.08 including tax. The people are nice and very willing to help. One improvement I would really like--the introduction of salad and miso soup. read more

This place was ok. I wasn't sure what I was walking into at first. They don't have servers... You just go up to a cooler and everything is pre-made in plastic containers. I almost walked away since I'm fairly anti pre-made sushi. BUT I was starving and the price was decent. You pick out what you want and take it to your table and that's it. Popped in here the other day for some lunch, on a whim. Thoroughly enjoyed my experience. The door chime reminded me of being in Taiwan, and the food selection did as well. We ordered: the pork noodle soup, stewed tofu + seaweed, and pig's ear. The pig's ear lacked a certain punch that my grandmother's usually has (maybe an extra spice?), as did the stewed tofu and seaweed. As express as sushi can be. Affordable, good quality, decent options. I always walk in and order to-go. I prefer my rolls made right when I order instead of just grabbing from the pre-made stuff (yes, you can do this). And although small, the dining part is comfortable enough if you're just hanging out for a quick bite. Friendly service too. It's also the closest downtown area sushi joint. This is a 4 1/2 star sushi place if you go there for its "niche", which is as a grab and go sushi place for getting something healthy and fast over lunch. It fits that niche very well, and while not the place you are going to take a dinner date for "the best sushi in town", it is much better than the "Kroger sushi" some others are saying. This is a great lunch spot that also has bubble tea, some more authentic offerings like octopus/chicken feet, and some good hot dishes for in the winter as well (pork bowl with rice is very good on a cold day and comes with a seasoned hard boiled egg that makes things higher protein and filling). And yes, you CAN order your sushi to have made fresh and off the menu if you like, but most people are just grabbing and going. The couple who runs the shop are very nice and friendly, and they offer a discount card where if you grab 10 sushi boxes the next one is free. The only reason you would not want to come here for sushi is if you are looking for a dinner type atmosphere and a more complex menu/presentation. As long as you know that is not their niche the place is solid. read more

I picked my replacement item and had eaten a small portion when he told me (regretfully) that I would have to pay for that replacement item because it was my fault I didn't like their food.
