Such a yummy poke spot right inside the MSU campus! Fresh ingredients, quick and easy service, and lots of options for toppings! They also have some protein options that other poke spots don't usually have, like shrimp tempura. So good!

First time visit to Korea House. Located very close to MSU so I figured the menu and atmosphere…read morewould be geared toward students. First we sat down and were given 2 menus. One was their regular menu with a variety of different options and the second menu was all sushi and sashimi. There were dozens of rolls and nigiri of all types. Quite an impressive list. I was there for the Korean food so I did not order any sushi. The service was excellent. The few questions we had were answered and the menu layout was explained as it was extensive. There were apps, rice dishes, soups, house specials, BBQ options and hot pot options to name a few. I decided to go with the kim bop app and soondubu chigae main dish. Soondubu chigae is a spicy soup with silken tofu and seafood served piping hot with rice on the side. The meal also included a selection of 4 banchan; potato salad, Kimchee, bean sprouts and fish cake. All of the banchan were delicious. The banchan also comes with unlimited refills. The kim bop was so good. Not sure what all the ingredients were but it was very tasty and well made. The rice was also very good. It was not an afterthought like a lot of Asian restaurants. The rice was cooked properly and of high quality. The soondubu chigae was also very tasty. Not as spicy as I like but had lots of flavor. My one criticism is the lack of seafood. There was some but not really in balance with the amount of silken tofu and egg in the dish. Overall I would recommend Korea House and although I haven't yet tried the BBQ or the hot pot, I sure they would be excellent choices. If you're craving some authentic Korean flavors, give this spot a try.

The service is prompt and the food comes out quickly and hot. I always like to get the bulgogi and kimchi jjigae as my staples but have also tried other dishes that are a hit too. Downtown East Lansing offers a wide array of Asian cuisine dining spots. We found ourselves in need…read moreof some weekday sushi and made our way to Sushi Ya. The team members we encountered were welcoming and friendly. We were seated right away as during the summer with the college students scarce, getting seated right away isn't abnormal. The restaurant was quiet so we selected a seat next to the window; the foot and vehicle traffic on Grand River was a nice backdrop. We started with shrimp shumai and the tempura appetizer, then decided on the sushi combo b and avocado don for our mains. The shrimp shumai were dainty but tasty! However, the tempura veggies weren't really flavorful and I'm not sure what the sauce served with them was intended to offer but minimal flavor was found there as well. The avocado don was like a deconstructed sushi roll and was absolutely delightful, although the dish would have benefited from the avocado being more ripe; it was flavorful and plentiful! The sushi combo was also delicious and fresh, served with plenty of wasabi and ginger. Speaking of ginger the ginger dressing on the side salad was so crisp, fresh and tangy it was definitely one of the highlights. I think the avocado don may end up being a lunchtime staple for me!

We happened to come during happy hour which looks to be Tuesday-Thursday 4:30-6p. We ordered the potato croquettes and tempura portabella mushrooms for appetizers. The croquettes are part of the happy hour menu so it was a good price. I didn't realize there were only going to be 2 of them but they were a large size! The portabella mushrooms were so good! We were surprised by the amount that we got. I didn't really like the sauce that came with the croquettes so I used the sauce that came with the mushrooms. For our dinner, I got the devil roll (forgot to take a pic - sorry!) and my friend got the teriyaki tofu bento box. My devil roll was pretty good, nothing too special about it. My friend loved her bento and said the agedashi tofu and the inari were her fav. Our server was really attentive and always came to check on us! I also loved that he stopped by to ask if the peanut dressing for our salads was ok. It wasn't too loud in there since there were still empty tables so it was easy to talk and hear each other.

They keep the food stirred and hydrated so nothing gets dried out. The sushi is always my favorite part. Love the rangoons, the lo mein noodles and Mei fun noodles are my favorite. The wonton soup is good. I like the hot and sour but it weirdly gives me a spaghettiO's sauce's aftertaste. My husband likes the egg drop soup. The only thing we found we didn't like was the roast, but it was sitting there a while so it was just rubbery. But we didn't come there for the roast, so it's still 5 out of 5 It was a but disappointing that our fortune cookies were stale. My mom's cookie didn't have a fortune. Service: 5/5 Not very much involved, they get your drinks and clear your plates. They're around if needed but don't come by too often cause there's no need. They're awesome. Our main server was Sherri and she's great. Ambiance: 4/5 Standard Asian restaurant. Chairs are a bit worn and the carpets grip the chair legs so much you have to fully lift the chair to move it. I was down because I'll eat anywhere at any time with you, darling! We landed the Starship out front of Saddleback BBQ and I'll be honest, people, I was excited! We entered at an off hour as there were no other customers. After ordering, we sat down and eagerly awaited our food. Oh boy, did that food come fast!! Placed in front of me was my order of a pulled pork sandwich with the slaw on the side. My two sides were the obvious: macaroni and cheese, while my second was the deviled eggs as your boy has been straight HANKERING for some deviled eggs! Right off the rip, I had to try those eggs! Ooooh la laaaaaaa!! They may be deviled, but those eggs are straight from heaven! I'll take a dozen please, and that may even be too few! I'm not even being egg-stra when I say that either. After being delighted by my first side, I decided to dig right into that miggity miggity mac next! Let me tell you fine folks something! You think you know creamy, but this mac is supremely creamy! Love the noodle style and length too. A good hit of cheese soaked into the veins of each noodle. I'd say this macaroni will satisfy me any day of the week! The main event was my pulled pork sandwich, and boy, did they stack the kid up with the pork! I drenched it in their sweet and savory sauce and went to town. Love the seasoning and smoke on the meat. Tender and juicy, this is a good-tasting pig. Very soft bun too; I'll gladly eat a hefty sandwich of this. Good thing as the portion size is generous! This is the type of food I could eat daily and always be satisfied. Cutie agrees too! She ordered a pulled pork plate with Mac and cheese along with corn cakes! She was so kind to ask me to eat some which I was more than happy to! Those corn cakes are delectable! I've recently become a corn enthusiast, and these little cakes I must say are divine! Basically, what I'm saying is this: Saddleback does it nice, folks! Cannot wait to go back when we happen to be in the area! What a meal! Five sweet and savory stars out of five! See ya on the flippity!

I was excited to hear that my family decided to meet up there for a post-Thanksgiving/birthday celebration for my niece the day after Thanksgiving. My brother arranged their private room for our group of 13 and it was a great experience. It took a bit for them to make sure the room was ready, but it was so cozy and pretty. The "happy birthday" menus are a nice touch. We were also able to bring in our own cake/cupcakes. We ordered some appetizers for the table - calamari and spinach artichoke dip. They were both good but the spinach artichoke dip was my favorite. The calamari was cooked nicely but a little bland. The dipping sauces were nice and a good variety. For my entree, I went with the Market Catch - king ora salmon. You can choose from several different options and select your preferred cooking method. I went with broiled and asked for it medium rare. Our main meals all came out at staggered times, but it wasn't too bad. I really liked the mashed potatoes that came with my plate. The fish was a little under seasoned, but cooked pretty close to medium rare. The portion size was great for me. Others had the fish and chips, shrimp and crab tortellini, seared scallops and risotto, etc. The shrimp and crab tortellini looked especially delicious! I didn't hear any complaints about the meals. I did have a bite of the clam chowder and found the clam I had to be pretty chewy and tough. Our server was really great the entire time, with refills constantly being poured and managing everyone's orders well. I would recommend this spot for a special occasion in their private room.
