There is a cleaning lady who is there right now who I've seen multiple times. It doesn't reek of piss. Minimal inside sitting, so I just sit in my car but I always usually find a good parking RIGHT next to the store front. Street parking only! I've seen and once had to park down the road and walk over with my laundry basket. It's pretty cool inside with multiple ceiling fans on. This laundromat can get pretty busy on certain days & on those days, I'm sure you could imagine what the parking looks like & the inside. It's very convenient for us as our dryer broke a month or two ago but it wouldn't be my first choice as being able to wash/dry my clothes in the comfort of my own home. But this is great as a substitute if you have an hour to spare. read more

Today was my first time there and let me just say that I'm really glad that I decided to use this place. I've read other reviews about this place saying at how expensive it is, but let me just say that it's worth the money. I usually do my laundry at my boyfriends apartment which is much cheaper but it would take me hours to do. Since there is only 2 washers and dryers it was a drag when people won't monitor their laundry. Some times the dryer didn't even dry my clothes good. At kaimuki laundromat I did 6 loads in about two hours. And their washers are big, compared to my boyfriends apartment, I could fit 2 loads of clothes and when I used the dryers I only used 3 for about 36 minutes. Although it's pretty pricey, the amount of time you spend there is worth it. As they saying goes, time is money and money is time. So it doesn't hurt to spend an extra few coins for the amount of time you save that could be done doing other things. I also meet the owner and she is really nice and very customer oriented. She stopped by to check up on the place and do some cleaning. And she came up to me and noticed the mountain of laundry that I was folding and offered her help, I humbly denied the offer but she insisted and she was a big help. If it wasn't for her it'd probably taken me more than two hours. read more

When your comforter doesn't fit in your washer at home there is only one solution- head to the laundry mat. For my first time here the first thing I noticed was no parking. It's a free for all street parking war in a neighborhood where street parking is scarce. Luckily I found a pretty spacious parallel between two cars. Happy as could be I made my way in like a happy camper. Unluckily, it was a little ways from the laundry mat. I got there and it's a quant laundry mat with only two large washers and 8 smaller. I was a sad girl knowing that the only two that could fit my comforter was taken. Alas, after some patient waiting, I got one! Then, as excited as I was, I wasn't because I didn't have enough quarters and it only took quarters. I turned around and prayed that the quarter making machine worked. It did and the task was completed! 7.50 to wash and the dryer is .25 for every 4 minutes. The experience was pretty painless. The 3 stars are for parking and limited number of machines. Personally I think I'm going to get a smaller comforter- it is Hawaii and it really isn't that cold here. read more

Was running errands in town one day, which included dry cleaning. After I recovered from the shock of the quote to launder my comforter, I hightailed it over to Kaimuki Laundromat, which came recommended by friends in the same predicament. Sheesh, you can get a whole other piece of clothing or at least a few cocktails with what you can spend on dropping off a comforter at most places!!! Washed my comforter in the big washer for only 7 bucks. Better than using drop off service and spending 20 bucks. And def better than taking it to Young Laundry where it would've cost me over 45 bucks and I would have had to wait for over two weeks to get it back. Place is clean and everything looks new...and all the machines were working. Good prices. Best deal in town! read more

Clean! Safe (They've got security cameras and it isn't in the shady parts of Palolo)! BUT... It's small and feels a little cramped and there's nowhere to sit while you're waiting, unless you get one of the three foldable chairs. Maybe it's best to bring one of those beach chairs and sit outside by the window. I paid $7 for the triple washer and $3.25 for the regular washers. Then I dried everything at home because it was just our washer that was broken. So for about 3 people and 1.5 week's worth of laundry, I spent $13.50. No parking either. You have to find a good time when there are spaces, and luckily I got one that was across the street. That's probably a weekday mid-morning, afternoon. read more

Good amount of washers and driers that are in new and good condition. However, I think the prices are steep. We only dry our clothes there because we do have a washing machine, but it's $0.50 for the first 4 minutes, and $0.25 for each 4 minutes after that. Needless to say we load up the driers and pop in a bunch of quarters, but I think that's really expensive. Maybe I'm used to the mainland where the driers are only $0.75 read more

Yep, 98% of the times I've been here all the machines are in good working order... Today 2 of the dryers are out of order. Price? $3.50 for a single load washer, $7.50 for a triple load. Each quarter gets you 4 minutes of dryer time - you be the judge if this is pricey or cheap... Each quarter huh? Do they have a machine for that? Why yes! They do, and it accepts up to $20 bills in case you were wondering, and they have a coin operated detergent and dryer sheets for sale. Also, the machines ACCEPT CARDS! Parking? I wish they had some! It's street parking only but 9 out of 10 times I've been able to find a spot around the corner or someone is leaving in time. Magazines in the corner when you enter on your left for while you're waiting, and a table to fold clothes when they're done. All in all it's a clean, convenient, bright and reliable place to get your laundry done! read more

Just moved on island and the family was staying at a hotel long-term. The hotel had a whopping 2 washer/dryer units so needless to say they were always occupied. I yelp searched for a local laundromat and thanks to helpful previously posted reviews I hauled my 4 loads on over. The space is smallish but very clean, well maintained and easily accessible on the corner. I think the price was reasonable and the dryer units are large enough that I could combine two washer loads into one. The owner/operator showed up while I was there and was very friendly, chatting with all the customers. *I didn't notice until I was driving away, but there looks to be a shave ice place a few doors down, so you could kill a little time grabbing a treat while waiting for your delicates to cycle. :) read more

I'm not a big fan of laundromats because of the "crazy" people you typically find at most of them. No one wants to worry about getting "jacked" by some nutcase while doing their laundry. Also, most laundromats you see aren't very clean and have poorly maintained machines. HOWEVER, I just checked out Kaimuki Laundromat on 10th Ave. and was super impressed!!! Very clean washers and dryers, helpful instructions, lots of street parking...and no "crackheads"! The place is very well maintained, and everyone there is friendly...probably because they go to Kaimuki Laundromat for the same reason I did. There's also a couple places next door to grab a bite to eat while you wait. I could easily go to a few laundromats much closer to my apartment in town, but it's definitely worth the extra few miles to Kaimuki Laundromat. This is the ONLY laundromat I will go to, from now on. read more

What a nice clean establishment with very friendly staff! We were very impressed with how much time the staff took with everyone who was there making their laundry experience as efficient, quick and painless. They also gave tips on how to use the least amount of quarters as you could to get your stuff washed and dried in the shortest amount of time. She even helped me fold my comforters so they didn't end up on the floor. Everything was kept very clean and the have machines big enough to do a large comforter. The owner is doing a GREAT job! Been coming here for 6 yrs. and use to love this place. Now, half the dryers are down, washers don't take cards anymore, and today, no coin machine working and no laundry detergent in the detergent machine. Sad. So many families depend on this place and it is not servicing those in need. Why don't they just close the place or sell it to someone who cares to keep the business going. I needed a place to wash my bedding, large bed covers and all, and found this great little laundromat right on 10th Ave. Thank God it's been upgraded since the last time I saw it! New washers and dryers, coin dispenser, I even like the window graphics! It was pretty busy when I got there, but there were still washers available, and all my stuff fit in one machine, which was great. All in all it was a good spot to wash my clothes and bulky items. Super clean, well lit and an ample amount of washers and dryers. I felt totally safe here. Thanks to Yelp and our stupid Bosch that decided to crap out *arrrgh*, I got to try Kaimuki Laundromat *yaaay*. Don't fret if you forget detergent or dryer sheets, you can get it there (the itsy bitsy size though). There's also a change machine in case you need more quarters. Credit cards are also conveniently accepted for your washing and drying needs. Triple washer $7.00 per wash (30 minutes), double washer $3.50 per wash (25 minutes), drying was 25¢ for I think 4 minutes or so. 4 loads later, in a little over an hour and I was done! Sweeet! Although this place was pricey, I would skip the other ghetto, dirty, laundromats in sketchy areas with sketchy patrons and do your laundry here. Definitely worth the few extra dollars. Street parking only. If you get bored, you can always walk to Tamura's to check out their poke selection and liquid libations. I was impressed being that this was my one and only time I've laundromated. Can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm looking forward to doing laundry again here soon. read more

Just did my first load here today since our washing machine broke this past week! $3.25 just for one wash using the 10 lb machine, 25 minutes. They have massive 20 lb machines as well, forgot how much it was, 30 minutes. Thought it was a bit pricey for the wash, but since I was able to load all the clothes I brought into it, I think it was well worth it. It's quite small inside, very limited seating and counter space, but clean overall. The change machine is definitely convenient, even accepting $20 bills! I didn't use the dryer after reading other reviews regarding its cost and opted to drive home and hang the laundry instead. Will definitely return until our home washer is up and running! read more

I am super surprised to see all these good reviews. Came here as a i have been traveling for awhile and needed to clean some clothes. The place is not clean and smells of urine. The compartments that hold the detergent are crusted over so I am not really sure what is washing my clothes. This is bad for me as I am allergic to many detergents. If you are desperate, sure do it. But, man..I am not sure if I am really walking out with anything clean. read more

Nice & Clean! You can pay with a credit card. So you don't have to worry about having enough quarters. Parking is limited in the area. No attendant present for assistance. 3 different size washers ranging from $7.50 for the largest which holds 40 lbs. I LOVE this place! It is so clean and there are never any homeless or crazy people loitering here. There is plenty street parking if you go during the day, but nights and weekends can be a tiny bit tricky, but not a big problem at all! The lady who comes in at night to clean up is always pleasant, and never rushes us even if we aren't quite done at closing...even though we don't want to keep her waiting! The only downfall is that is a tiny bit pricey, even for Hawaii's standards. They are by no means Waikiki prices, but they are high...but because I don't get accosted by homeless people I can live with the prices. read more

I've been going to Kaimuki Laundromat for the past 3 weeks ever since our washer broke. It's the cleanest/least ghetto laundromat to my home (Makiki) and their large washers are really useful when the bedding needs to be washed. The staff there is helpful and like everyone said, the owner will go out of their way to answer your questions and help you out. If you want a laundromat with good service this is the one to go...if you rather go to a ghetto one without anyone there to help you there are tons of them around town! read more

The dryer at the house was busted so I had to take my tightie whities to the laundromat. Even though there is no parking there are plenty of spots on the street. Went on a Saturday so that may have had something to do with it. While my linens were soaking I took a stroll over to the hobby shop on the same block. I was asked by a few different people if I needed anything and I told them that I was just loitering and looking around while I was doing laundry. They didn't seem to mind so I'll probably go back and either go small and buy a model of the USS Arizona or go big and get a remote controlled boat. I would spend about $3.50-$4.00 per load on the mainlaind and this was $3.50 for a wash, which was pretty nuts, and $.25 for every 4 minutes... for Hawaii I would have expected a lot less. Washed a queen sized down comforter in one of the two largest machines for $8.00. Takes 35 min for extra wash and extra rinse and does a thorough job. Used dryer #11 but it didn't work too well. Had it on high heat for 32 min but the temperature setting was not high enough. Had to leave and thus ended up taking the comforter to a friend's home to dry it. Facility is clean, bright and well ventilated. Was there on the middle of a weekday. No problems getting a machine or finding parking on the side street. read more

I want to like this place because the location is convenient for me but I can't help but notice that most of the machines are always out of order and the ones that do work either has a broken button, has coins stuck in the slot, has a broken card reader, or shreds your clothes (two dryers in particular). Not sure what happened, I used to come here all the time and it was great but now it seems like the owner doesn't care anymore. If you're pressed for time and feeling lucky, then this is the place for you. If you don't want to take your chances, just avoid this place if you can and just take a further drive to save yourself a headache until they can get everything back in order. read more

I thought other Yelpers were being sarcastic when they said they learned a lot from a laundry mat...they weren't kidding. The owner was there when we went to do 3 weeks worth of clothes and various house rugs. Found this place when I googled "laundry mat honolulu". My bf and I were in desperate need of laundry facilities after observing that no one in our apartment complex seemed to even touch the washing machine. Couple that with the fact that our washing machine seems old and is $2 PER load we needed to find an alternative quick! The owner was sooooooooo helpful. Like help-you-load-your-laundry helpful. If you were washing a rug soaked in the blood of your slain lover she would probably tell you the precise time to add Tide with bleach to get the stains out. Not even joking. We started loading the washers after bringing in 3 full laundry baskets and she let us know that the washers pre-wash so by adding detergent in when the water starts going (4 seconds of laundry detergent for the big washer, 2 seconds of laundry detergent for the smaller washer) it'll help take out all the gross stuff from clothes, rugs, whatever you're washing. Unlike regular household washers the water from the pre-wash drains away and there is still residual laundry detergent in the wash so adding 2 seconds of laundry detergent in the bigger washing machine when it starts its real washing cycle is optimal in cleaning your clothes. I am used to laundry mats...I have not had a washer or dryer in the house in my entire life because I grew up in apartments and condos. So when I tell you this is the cleanest laundry mat and the cleanest my clothes have ever been after a wash I AM NOT kidding. Although the place is small it wasn't crowded and we washed, dried, and folded 8 loads of laundry in about 2 hours. $3.00 for the smaller washers and $6 for the larger washers. There's a change machine in the laundry mat. I fit 2 loads in the smaller one and 3 loads in the larger washers...the dryer is 25 cents for 4 minutes...45 minutes worked for us spent around $25-$28 on laundry, about 8 loads of it, I usually spend about $25 on laundry in a sub par laundry mat so I walked away incredibly happy and fresh smelling. This is our laundry mat indefinitely. P.S. if you need more moolah for laundry there is a Bank of Hawaii ATM at the mini mart up the street... read more

Clean laundry mat. However, they raised the price for dryer at 3 minutes for $.25 from 4 minutes for $.25, and I come every week but notice doesn't come hot till after 3 minutes. This is dryer 21 and 23. Think the raised the price of big washer from $7.50 to $9.00. Need to check the dryer temperature. Owner is really nice!! read more

Ok so today I got the chance to meet the owner Erica and I must say I learned a lot about washers/dryers. For everything I learned and the owner taking the time off to explain pricing I have bumped up my review to 5 stars. First of all I learned the difference between front load washers and regular washers. Although 1 wash is $3.00 with the front load washers it is definitely worth it because you can fit up to 20 lbs which is about 2 regular laundry baskets vs say paying $2.50 for 1 wash using a regular washer that can only fit 1 laundry basket. Their bigger front loader holds 40 lbs and is $6.50. I also learned of the different misconceptions of drying and ways in which front loader washers are much better quality than regular washers! I do laundry here sometimes and have never had a problem. I needed to do laundry late tonight though and they were almost closed. Sometimes I buy soap there and do laundry from home if I cannot do it in their limited hours. Tonight I needed some laundry soap (and yes, $2 extra in quarters) so I went there to put $4 in the machine and buy some soap from them so I can do laundry in my complex. The owner lady, or manager idk... comes out and says they are closed and I cannot get quarters. I said I need to buy some soap so I can do laundry at my apartment across the street. She proceeded to tell me that it isn't a public change machine and acted all salty that I would have the nerve to try to get quarters there. Like I said... SOMETIMES I HAVE DONE MY LAUNDRY THERE.... but they just lost a customer. The lady was so rude she was talking crap even when I was outside telling me something "BRUH!" and idk what but it was pretty weird. What a rude person who is supposed to be providing a community service. Oh I'm so sorry that I wasn't going to use ALL of the $4 of quarters in your shop. No problem I will never go there again. Normally it takes me three to four hours to do my laundry at home, with their triple load washing machines I did all of my laundry in less than an hour and a half. Triple thumbs up. Very satisfied. If i may also add, very clean and comfortable. I will definitely be back next week. read more

I think this laundromat is great. I live in the Palolo area and remember how crappy this laundromat used to be before it was renovated. I think there's a new owner now because everything is brand new. I used to go to the laundromat at Market City Mall before it closed down. That was a real bummer cause I didn't want to have to go to the laundromat in the back of Palolo. Kinda nuts back there. All I know is you get what you pay for. The Market City Laundromat was dirty and all the machines were mix matched and old. Most of the large washers were reserved for the staff. Now I go to the new Kaimuki Laundromat all the time. All the machines are new, they always work, and the dryers are hot. Plus its right next to places where I can buy food and drinks. It helps to pass the time. Believe me, I've grown up using laundromats and they are always pretty messed up. But what's worse is when you get ripped off cause the machines don't work. I don't know who the new owner is, but good job. You turned the old Kaimuki Laundromat into a great new place to do laundry. It's safe, "my Mom even goes there", it has a lot of light, it's convenient, and the machines are brand new and work great. You got my business. read more
