The ambiance is nice and comfortable, 3 floors of historic memorabilia, my favorite pieces were the cool antique cash registers. The service was beyond exceptional! Our waitress Erin was very attentive and knowledgeable! She recommended the green fried tomatoes I was considering and boy they were nothing like I've ever had! So delicious! Packed with flavor! For dessert I had the seasonal peach cobbler made with fresh locally grown peaches! A-mazing!

We were seated immediately. For starters we ordered 2 crab dips, 2 orders of fried green tomatoes, & 2 orders of crispy wings (Old Bay). Our non-alcoholic beverages included Pepsi products (no Coca-Cola ), ginger ale but no ginger beer. All of the appetizers were on point with flavor & texture. Also the Old Bay chicken wings were not as salty as other places serve them. I ordered the crab cake sandwich & onion rings. I had to box my crab cake because the small plates filled me up. I heated it in a pan later with a little olive oil spray and it was good. Our generous shipmate took care of thei bill so I'm not sure if splitting was an option. This was my first visit but definitely not my last. I enjoyed the relaxed vibes and proximity to the resort & dock.

We're stuck in this hospital...when we should be following that…read moremonster's trail," Roberto DaCosta (Sunspot) shook with anger as he expressed a desire to seek revenge against who or what attacked their teammate, Danielle Moonstar, leaving her on an operating table on the brink of death. "Waste o' time, Bobby, you won't find the critter there," Sam Guthrie (Cannonball), the oldest of the teenagers that make up the New Mutants, responded, "It'll be here." "What are you talking about, Sam? Explain yourself!" "Stands t' reason, ever since we've known her, Dani's had a special fear of a spirit bear she said murdered her parents. None of us really really gave the story much credit, after all who believes in magic?" Sam paused oh so slightly before continuing. " 'Cept Illyana's a real witch, an' we fought demons and sorceresses. Maybe Dani wasn't kidding." Sam shifted his tone to reveal his evidence. "Illyana tells me Dani spent the last week or so in the Danger Room fighting bears! T'night, she walked out into a [winter] storm, alone, armed with a bow an' arrows an' wearing war paint! And got mauled. We were wrong t' doubt her. We should'a listened, we should'a seen the signs." Whenever my wife and I visit a restaurant or bar for the first time, whether we are there by ourselves or--in this case--treated to a meal by our favorite neighbors--I can count on her to sort through, heed, and pick up on every nuance in every aspect of culinary service that is there to be sensed. In this case, at the Dockside Restaurant & Sports Bar at 421 Deale Road in Maryland, the food was mostly wonderful, and the prices were more than reasonable for this economy. What prevents Dockside from receiving at least four stars was primarily the service. Two orders of fries, one sweet potato and one regular, weren't hot; and although our waitress reluctantly brought one of the orders back to exchange it for a new batch, the fries didn't taste any warmer. Our other host ordered his crabcake lightly-fried, only for it to be brought out broiled. He still enjoyed it, but it wasn't exactly what he wanted or ordered. By the end of the meal, it became obvious that, if we return, we need to ask for Sarah, who, although she was tending the bar and wasn't even our waitress, still brought one of our neighbors a fresh cup of Pepsi Zero that she could take on our return trip home. Sarah also exhibited a great sense of humor, an attentiveness and an attention to detail, and, most importantly, remembered with pleasure our hosts, who have dined there frequently. Apart from the pumpkin cheesecake, which was so infused with nutmeg and pumpkin spice that even Linus from Peanuts couldn't have tasted the pumpkin, and the lukewarm fries, our meals were terrific. I devoured the perfectly-seasoned shrimp from the fried shrimp platter; everyone loved their onion rings and their cream of crab and Maryland crab soups; and we all agreed that the crabcakes, boiled and fried, were scrumptious.

We had a quick business trip to the area and stopped here for an early dinner before heading to our…read morehotel. This place is nestled along the quiet waterfront in Deale, Maryland; it is one of those classic Chesapeake Bay gems that manages to balance small-town charm with a lively dockside spirit. You will always find fishermen swapping stories, families gathering after a day on the water, and visitors who came for the sunset and stayed for the crab cakes. The panoramic view of Rockhold Creek is breathtaking. The vibe is relaxed and local in the best possible way: nautical flags, weathered wood, and a bar that feels as though it's been a gathering place for generations. In warm weather, the outdoor deck fills quickly, offering the ultimate place to enjoy a cold beer and a platter of seafood as the sun dips into the bay. It was too cold for us; we hope to make it back here in the spring with warmer weather. The menu at Happy Harbor is rooted in Maryland tradition but isn't afraid to have a little fun. We started with the creamy Maryland crab dip; it is served bubbling hot with toasted baguette slices. It's rich without being cloying, anchored by sweet, fresh lumps of crabmeat that remind you how close you are to the source. Next, we had the steamed blue crabs. Steamed to order, they arrived fragrant, steaming, and perfectly seasoned--the hallmark of a place that knows its craft. My wife went with the grilled rockfish sandwich--local to the Bay and cooked to perfection--which arrived simply dressed with lettuce, tomato, and a smear of house-made tartar sauce on a soft brioche roll. It's the kind of straightforward, fresh preparation that showcases confidence rather than flash. I went with the Captain's Combination Platter, a local favorite, offering a sampler of crispy fried shrimp, oysters, scallops, and a generous portion of hand-cut fries. It's hearty, unpretentious comfort food that's as much about the experience as the flavors. You can pair your meal with a craft beer from a regional brewery or a signature crush cocktail--the orange crush was my choice. As far as the service, Happy Harbor is friendly and efficient, with staff who genuinely seem to enjoy the rhythm of the place. Our server was engaging and quick with recommendations and even quicker with refills, striking just the right note between laid-back and attentive. Happy Harbor isn't chasing trends--it's celebrating tradition. It's a place where the seafood is fresh, the portions generous, and the mood somewhere between a family gathering and a dockside festival. Whether you're a local returning for your favorite crab dip or a traveler discovering the simplicity of a Maryland summer meal by the water, Happy Harbor delivers a quintessential Chesapeake experience.

Came in on a trivia night, and although we didn't participate we were served in a timely manner. My mushroom swiss burger was nice and juicy for a medium. Ordered dinner , wife first, ordered cup of C of C , Ribs and salad and a potato. I ordered a steak sandwich and French Fries , he came back with the soup , nothing to write home about, we shared it. He then told the wife that they were out of ribs so she ordered a pork chop. 30 minutes later he came out without her salad and told me they were out of French fries so I had to get a baked sweet potato , he went back to the kitchen. Fifteen minutes later he still hadn't come back to the table . My pissed off was compounded by a family that came in 10 minutes after us and ordered after us. They were served their full meal , including French Fries before our waiter even came out to tell us the didn't have any of the things we ordered . I threw 10.00 on the table for the soup and a quarter glass of ice tea and walked out and no one tried to find out why although some staff watched us leaving. Sad , we like to support our local businesses but when you operate like this your not welcome to My business and I want to make sure no one else suffers through this. The owners apparently care more about their sports bar and their loud foul mouthed drinkers . I won't go back and I suggest families not bring their young children in there either. Not many choices in that area and it's a shame the owners are screwing up a great business opportunity!
