I eventually stopped trying to find the tip feature within the Yelp application. I apologize, as I find it difficult to keep up with all the updates regarding phones and applications. The information I wished to convey was to inform individuals that the parking lot next to the restaurant typically becomes full during happy hour. However, street parking and additional parking below the restaurant are usually available. Another piece of advice is to encourage people to use the Yelp application to join the waitlist. I had initially decided against sharing the following suggestion, but I felt it was only fair for patrons to be aware that they should inform the host or hostess of their willingness to be seated at the bar or sushi bar, especially when there is a long waitlist. Of course, one must be at least 21 years of age to be seated at the bar. We were very pleased to have Bryan as our sushi chef when we sat at the sushi bar. We received our sushi more quickly than when we sit inside the restaurant or outdoors. I was impressed that he was able to remember what we ordered, and he told the server our order about an hour after we placed it.

Marcello was phenomenal last Saturday afternoon. We arrived just before 330pm for their happy hour. We were a party of five and were seated right away. We always try to sit in either Marcello's or Martinez's area. We ordered all of our faves. Started with miso soups all around and house salads x3. We ordered the firecracker, dumplings x2, shrimp tempura x2, sesame chicken, wings and the sunkiss roll. What was pretty cool is that right when we sat down he brought our soda water. He never let our ginger and Siracha go empty. It was lent so no Sapporo. The happy hour is 7 days and a great way to try everything. Easy parking adjacent to the restaurant. The food is great but it the personalized service 10/10 that keeps us coming back. Ask for Marcello he'll take great care of you!!!

We've been loyal patrons of Kabukis for many years, which made this recent visit particularly disappointing. During our dinner, several items that we ordered...primarily from the happy hour menu, were served either overcooked or undercooked. The issues were immediately noticeable. I brought this to the manager's attention, and while she did offer to have the dishes remade, we had already experienced a significant wait for our food and were unable to stay longer. When I declined the remake, the interaction became somewhat uncomfortable as there was continued insistence. Additionally, the situation was not helped by the lack of acknowledgment or apology upon her departure, which left us feeling that our concerns were not fully heard. We chose to keep some of the dishes despite the issues, but overall, the experience and more importantly the QUALITY OF THE FOOD fell short of the standards we've come to expect as a family over the years As long time customers, we hope this was an isolated incident and that future visits will reflect the quality and service we have previously enjoyed.

I came here with my partner and my mother for happy hour, craving sushi since it had been a while since our last visit. Unfortunately, this experience was incredibly disappointing. I have an allergy to cucumber, and I made it very clear to the server from the beginning that none of the sushi I ordered could have cucumber (with the exception of the California roll my partner ordered). We've been here many times before and have always given the same instruction, so I expected it to be handled with care. First, the tuna roll looked off -- not the vibrant red I was used to, which raised concerns about freshness. Then, while eating the scallop roll, I bit into a shell, forcing me to spit the entire piece out. When I informed the server, his only response was "oh, OK" before walking away. He never apologized or acknowledged the seriousness of the situation until we had to go back and ask for the roll to be removed from the order. Even then, there was no apology. Next, we ordered the Alaskan roll and were told there was no cucumber in it. Thankfully, I checked before eating because there was cucumber inside. This was extremely concerning, given my allergy. It is very unprofessional and unsafe for a restaurant of Kabuki's size and reputation to be so careless with food allergies. Not once did the server apologize, and at no point did a manager come over to address the issue. On top of that, the plates were dirty, and the restaurant itself did not feel clean -- surprising given that this is a relatively new location. This was a truly upsetting experience. Not only was the food quality questionable, but the lack of care and concern for customer safety was alarming. Sadly, I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone -- especially those with allergies. Mistakes like this put customers at serious risk, and Kabuki's handling of the situation showed me that customer well-being is not their priority. Truly disappointing. :(

The best thing about kabuki is the huge selection you can choose from! they have sushi and sashimi, but also some cooked foods. my friend got the poke which she says she always goes with and is pretty solid. I got the kabuki roll, and i loved how it came with different fish as a topping for each piece. i will say the "crunch" inside the roll can be very drying despite the various tops, so i'd order eel sauce with it. this location has an underground parking lot, and the restaurant is accommodating for large parties.

I thought I already reviewed Kabuki because I'm here... a lot. The food is always solid, like truly consistent every single time. Their happy hour is unbeatable. The menu is large with variety. Every time I go everyone's friendly, and they're always going the extra mile. Like they are so so nice. You don't see that a lot anymore. It gets packed! Parking can sometimes be hard to find even with the underground parking. Overall, just a reliable go-to spot for good sushi and good service.

I remember Kabuki being much sharper in quality and presentation when I was younger, but it was still a solid experience coming back for happy hour with a good friend. Roughly 40% off certain items during happy hour makes it definitely worth the price if you're looking for a good deal. We came in during the last hour, and the rice was a little on the stale side, but the fish itself wasn't bad. Service was good though--our server checked in on us multiple times even toward closing, which I appreciated. Overall, a decent spot for happy hour sushi and catching up with friends, especially if you're taking advantage of the discounted menu.

This is one of my go-to Japanese restaurants in SGV. They have a wide variety of options that all taste pretty good and are decently priced. The beef sukiyaki was so delicious and totally worth it! The kabuki roll was pretty impressive too; we don't usually like roe or uni but it worked so well with the underlying rolls. The restaurant is clean and spacious. Service is really nice. There is a free underground and ground level parking lot. It was pretty busy on a Saturday night at 6 pm, but my party of 6 was able to be seated with no wait.

This time I went and the food was not good. The chicken was tough and the teriyaki sauce was bland. Service was very slow mind you it was not crowded. Cool atmosphere with a decent-sized bar.

Too good I forgot to take a picture before! The food was amazing, service was quick and efficient, ambience is nice they have such nice and relaxing music and lighting. All in all 10/10 and 100% worth the hour drive I made over here !

Really great Japanese restaurant serving all kinda of authentic dishes. They have a great deal for lunch, the portions are big and amazing value. All of the food tasted delicious and was presented beautifully. The interior is huge and very clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. They have plenty of free parking in a parking lot or underground parking.

Good sized restaurant with ample parking. Nice lunch bento boxes and other lunch special choices that were pretty fresh. Friendly service.

Both were very refreshing, and I really loved the sauce on the bakka salmon in combination with the mint leaves. Since I'm a huge seafood lover, I ordered the Thai royal curry with lobster tail, lime steamed Chilean sea bass and the royal crown fried rice. This was my first time trying curry and I found it delicious, I'd love to visit Star Leaf again specifically for this dish. I really enjoyed the texture of the fish roe on top of the fried rice - I've never had something like this before. I also ordered the truffle wok seared noodles with beef (I liked the mushrooms in this dish). For dessert, I had the Vietnamese coffee flan and the pink mekong. I loved the presentation of the pink Mekong, and the various fruits were yummy. As for the atmosphere, it was very cozy and I took a lot of nice photos in the front of the restaurant by the pond. This restaurant would be perfect for a romantic date night or a lunch with the girls. The service was great - everything was very timely and detail-oriented. I was able to find metered parking on the street; not sure why but I didn't need to pay that day! Upon arriving, we were fortunate that there was no wait time and got seated right away. Their menu was quite extensive so we took some time to browse before we ordered. They had a main menu and also a special menu. We pointed out some allergies to the staff and he helped us work around it. The orders came out quickly and he checked in on us frequently to see if we were okay. Great service! Bakka Wild Salmon - This salmon had a lot of things going on for it, in a good way! The combination of flavors felt very refreshing, especially on a hot day. The lime and basil played a big part there. Crispy Short Rib with Lime - Even initially before coming here, this was the dish that caught our attention. I will admit the portion size was a bit smaller than I expected and was even skeptical when it came out. However, without a doubt, this was the highlight of the visit. As someone that loves savory foods, this really hit the spot. The burst of flavors settles in right away. Truffle Wok Seared Noodles - We wanted to pick this noodle dish as a balance to the protein dishes. It did its job but it tasted okay. Not something that stood out. Slow-Drip Vietnam Coffee Flan - I liked the caramel that was layered on the flan, it was crunchy and added a nice texture. It was a nice presentation but tasted okay. Thai Tea - This was my personal drink. It was a standard Thai tea but came with ice cream on top. It was not too sweet but didn't stand out compared to other items. Strawberry Pandan Lemonade - This was my girlfriend's drink. I had a small sip here but found it was refreshing and not too sweet. However, I didn't really get any pandan flavor, mainly strawberry. When it all comes together, it was a good experience. The interior of the story is more dimly lit and felt like a romantic night dinner, despite being the middle of the day. The dishes had a balance of standard and hidden gems. Everything was more than sufficient for two people to share. Service was great and very attentive. Will come back for the Crispy Short Ribs! It was obvious it had been sitting around because it wasn't fresh or hot. We asked for a to-go box, but the biggest shock came when we looked at the bill, they had already automatically included a 20% tip. Even though the nachos were amazing, the terrible service wait time and the automatic gratuity for a party of two left a really bad taste in my mouth.
