Such a gem in New West!…read more My partner and I just went here for coffee today and he ordered a cappuccino, while I got myself a matcha latte. Both drinks were made exceptionally well; impressively smooth, foamy, balanced, and clearly prepared with care rather than just being an afterthought. What really makes this place special is the atmosphere. The vibe feels genuinely inclusive and community-driven, with thoughtful touches like the pop-up bookstore featuring books on race, gender, and queer authors. It feels like a space built for connection, not just coffee. I also love how it transforms depending on the day. The daytime café energy is cozy and welcoming, while on select nights they stay open longer, serve alcohol, and host regular events like DJ nights, board game nights, and other community gatherings. It gives the space a lot of personality and makes it feel alive beyond the usual coffee shop experience. Definitely one of those places that feels more like a neighborhood hub than just a café. I'll be visiting a lot more soon!

The matcha taste was not too strong and not the umami matcha but still good nonetheless. I got it with oat milk instead and there wasn't an up charge. It doesn't come with sweetener and u can taste the matcha without it much more but I added 2 pumps of sugar and found that it increased the oat milk taste too much. I would recommend 1-1.5 pumps of liquid sugar (the barista helped me put it in so just ask!). The inside of the cafe was quite cute and they even had a little clothing rack selling second hand items like clothes and shoes! The space is quite big and spacious and has seating at the back as well and washrooms.

An update after 3 months - Delicia Cafe has really stepped…read moreup their game! The service has improved noticeably - staff are more attentive and welcoming. Their coffee continues to be excellent, with a wide variety of options that don't compromise on taste. A great spot to relax or catch up with a friend. Definitely worth a visit if you haven't been in a while.

We were eager to try out a new cafe spot in New West and maps led us to Delicia Cafe & Bakery. Most…read moreof the tables were taken, and we took this as a good sign that it might be worth a visit. My first impression was 'wow is there a lot of choice on this menu!' For drinks they have multiple types of hot chocolates and an array of non-coffee beverages - maybe I have found my new spot... We ordered a Pumpkin Chai Latte and a Pumpkin Spice Belgian Hot Chocolate and a Macadamia Marble Cookie. I like that for their hot chocolate you get to choose if it's milk or dark, I opted for dark. We found a table and I do appreciate the table signs that say to limit your visit to one hour. Honestly, more places should do this to stop people from treating a cafe like their living room or a library. I do feel like Delicia is on the overpriced side for what it serves. The latte was almost $7 and the hot chocolate was $8. I don't think that the drinks aren't worth it, it feels like mixed powder and nothing note worthy. When a menu is too big, it makes me question what is actually good, because even for a small cafe, you can't do everything good. To top it off, our cookie had a hair on the plate, very unappetizing. I don't think that I'll be back.

The grilled cheese and tomato basil soup is INSANE. Delicious, the perfect lunch. Highly recommend for a cozy laid back cafe.

Hide Out Cafe is a small, cozy spot with genuinely friendly service. The woman working there was…read morevery welcoming, and I had a chance to chat with the man who is also the cook. He told me he gets up very early every morning to prepare everything from scratch -- even the mayonnaise. Nothing is simply bought ready-made and served, and I think you can taste the difference. The food has much more of a homemade quality to it. I had the chicken sandwich and it was delicious. I also tried a cold mocha, which wasn't quite to my taste because I would have preferred more milk, although I realized afterward that I may have been able to ask for extra. The prices felt a little on the high side, but that seems to be increasingly common these days, and knowing how much work goes into making everything fresh each day helps put the price into perspective. There is seating both inside and outside, although it isn't a large place. I noticed quite a few tables marked reserved, so seating may be limited at busier times. What stood out most to me was the care that goes into the food. It's nice to find a place where the person cooking your meal is actually preparing things from scratch every day rather than relying on pre-made products.
