We stopped by for lunch. There weren't many people waiting so we were in and out within 15 minutes. The owner was out of town and her niece was in charge. She was very nice and welcoming and she chatted with us for a bit. We ordered the spicy garlic wings, shrimp, dumplings, fries, and rice and spent about $60. Dumplings: Good, but wish they came with a sauce. Fries: fresh, crispy, and delicious!! They're battered. Garlic wings: Crispy, hot, and the sauce was yummy!! I got snow onions and they were good also. Shrimp: if you don't get a sauce there's no flavor. They were good while hot, but afterwards reheating them is a no-no.. they tasted like frozen shrimp and were soggy. But the first 10 minutes was ok. I'd definitely get the chicken, dumplings, and fries again!!! There was some sort of weird in your face smell that filled the whole restaurant. It smelled like a Grey Hound bus bathroom after a Taco Bell festival... I don't know what it was, but my stomach did a triple cartwheel, backflip!! Maybe it was the radishes. Other than that it was clean inside. Check them out!!!

Fries were hot and crispy. Korean chicken was freshly fried, flavorful and crispy. The drumsticks are HUGE. Family meal was filling. Restaurant was clean. Service was quick.

Walk in see this awesome man who welcomes us the most authentic way possible, slow piano music, cool drinks in the fridge. Order the food sit down 5 mins later (it was empty at the time) food comes it and the rest i don't remember because i ascended to heaven, after finishing i was stuffed and wanted to be hungry again to eat more food, 1000% recommend to any one that likes chicken!

Well, this is my first time here. And it's NO LONGER CM Chicken. It's now what the sign says: K-Chicken I was greeted with a big smile and enthused "hello" But I ordered through the kiosk, I got the curry gizzards and the lemon snow onion chicken (pretty good considering my dislike for too much onion, it was green onion and lots of lemon juice) Both were good. Now would I say the flavor was better than Bonchon's... not immediately. I'd have to taste them both side by side. But the size of the wings are bigger here. The menu is short and sweet (which to me means the items should be close to perfection) And they have Japanese beer and wine selections While I sat and wait for my food, there was a K-pop performance on the tv across from me with the volume turned down. But there's jazz playing on what looks like a YouTube video of an outside patio on a fall day on the tv behind me... MY TYPE OF VIBE! Everyone seems to be excited when they come in and those who left had happy goodbyes. The woman who greeted me brought everyone's food out with such pleasure and made sure to ask one couple about their "true testimony of the food when they're finished"... Seems like family in here. There's 5 tables that seat up to 6 each, plus a side table for 2 (that can fit up to 3) Plenty parking right in front of the door I have ZERO complaints. This one is going in my Asian Bookmark

No pictures of our food for this review because the food was so, so good - and we totally wolfed it down. I was going to place a takeout order via Grubhub, but needed to ask a clarifying question - so I ended up placing my order over the phone since I had her on the line. The owner is super nice, very pleasant, and was very helpful in placing my order. My order was ready in 15 minutes as promised. If delicious crispy chicken with lots of flavor (and extra spice if you're into that kind of thing) is up your alley, then CM chicken is the spot for you. See you guys next time!

Oh My Gosh! So good. First time here but it is so good I'm not waiting to post my review. The chicken is huge for wings, meaty,, and juicy. So crispy crunchy your first bite is A M A ZING and loud. We got the Spicy Chicken wings. Saucy spicy sauce. Sweet and spicy. They are not holding back on the sauce. You will not keep clean eating this. You will need to wash your face and hands but let me tell you. It Is Worth It!!! The fries comes in one size. HUGE. It was enough for 5 people. They are like a coated potato fried. Very crispy. Oh and I totally love the pickled radish we got with our meal. 5 stars all the way for food. First time at CM Chicken so when we looked at the menu at lunch on a Saturday we thought , wow , it seems a bit pricey. But you get a lot. We had enough for later and I loved it cold. If you like spicy you will love this. The spicy chicken was a 1 pepper hot. That was plenty hot for us. I see they make a red hot pepper chicken with 3 pepper hot. I don't think I will be trying that. I can't wait to go back and try the rest of the flavors. Great service. Very clean. Super fresh and hot food. Parking lot is small and you have to make a upturn to get into the parking lot but Well WORTH IT.

First visit was exceptional. Helena is awesome!!!! The first question people always ask me, "Is it better than....?" I honestly cannot and will not answer that. I love this place on its own right. It's not the same and that's ok. When I think of CM Chicken, I would come to enjoy Helena's company, a beer, and The CURRY Chicken!! Hands-down the Curry chicken was mine and my daughter's favorite! I asked for a side of the Red Pepper Hot sauce to dip. I LOVE this sauce, but don't think I can hang with an entire order of chicken tossed in it. Calamari was also surprisingly tender & flavorful. I usually prefer an Italian or Chinese style calamari w/ the body & tentacles, but the way this was prepared was good too. Coleslaw - I ate the entire container! Complemented the wings well along w/ the radish! Snow chicken - had a sweeter flavor and one has to love onions!!! Thank you so much!! I look forward to going back for more curry chicken, a beer, and laughs w/ Helena!! Tip: if one has left over chicken, stick them in the air fryer. Like BRAND NEW!

3.5 stars I love Korean fried chicken, that's why I was excited when I found out about this place was opening in the area. CM Chicken is located next to Grammys near the Lynnhaven Mall. I ordered for a pick-up and was surprised how fast and easy to place an order. Coming in at the store, I was impressed on how clean the restaurant is. The tables were not too close to each other and it is very bright. I ordered the soy chicken and spicy chicken. When I went to the counter to pick up my order, I was told that there was no order under my name. I was surprised and insisted that I placed my order 30 minutes ago. The lady looked at the bags in front of her and asked me if I placed my order at the Lynnhaven location since they have another location in Newport News. I even showed her my confirmation email (yes she touched my phone and I was not impressed). She kept saying that there's no order under my name and I started to get irritated because I am worried that she will make me pay again. It's a good thing that one of the staff looked around the counter and found my order. I just wished the female staff really looked around for my order (or asked the other staff) instead of just declaring that they didn't have my order. As for the food, the spicy chicken and soy chicken were really good (even better than Bonchon). It was still crispy 30 minutes later (my drive home was 30 minutes long). I like how the spicy chicken was very spicy too. Although I wasn't impressed by the female staff, I was glad that I finally tried chicken. I want their other entrees on their menu. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

On my list for forever and I'm SO glad I finally went! Nice, clean inside and there was no line. With all the choices, it was hard to make a decision but the owner was very helpful and kind. The amount of food we received for less than $40 was insane! We did the special which got us I believe 10 wings each of spicy and curry. Both great flavors! I kept grabbing one of each, but that spicy was the real spicy. The curry was #1 one though. Though hungry, we weren't able to finish it all and happily left with leftovers. Crisp abundance of fries + plus a bucket to put the bones. I'm thankful we were allowed to sit inside as the freshness & aroma coming out that box, I doubt we would've made jt home without a taste.

The fried dumplings were great and very flavorful. The rice cake soup was a great portion for the price, I do wish there were more rice cake and less onions. Last time I came it, it was empty. This time me and my mom came hefe on a Saturday night, the restaurant was not full but it was busy! We had to wait for about 30 minutes since we wanted to do bbq (where the grill is installed on the table, and not all tables look like that), but there's no wait if you're not doing bbq. The staff were quick and nice. There are bells next to our table and we can use that bell to ask for service, what a great idea! We ordered Korean pancake with seafood, spicy tofu soup with beef(comes with rice), Galbi (bbq short ribs)(comes with rice), and a grape flavored soju. Just like other Korean restaurants, we were provided with unlimited banchans and salad, and they were all fresh and delicious. The Korean pancake is HUGE. It's also not too much breading but full of leeks and onion, and it was thin and crispy. The Spicy Tofu Soup with beef tasted decent, but I'd like more beef in it. The Galbi was good portion (2 long pieces, 1 small pieces and 2 bones with some meat on) and the marinade tasted good, but I still think $44 is a tad high. The only star was taken off is really the price for the bbq meat. I can see premium protein could be charged higher, but pork, chicken and flat iron steak are some cheaper cut that I personally think is a bit high. I might come back during lunch time to take advantage of their lunch menu tho!

I did takeout this time, and my food was ready quickly. I was greeted right at the door with super friendly service, which already set a great tone. The moment I walked in, I noticed how cute the place is: ample seating, cool vibes, and a cozy atmosphere that makes you instantly want to dine in. I'm already looking forward to coming back for the full experience. We got the spicy kimchi tofu soup, and let me tell you--chef's kiss. Perfectly soft tofu, a legit kick of spice, and the rice that comes with it was bomb. Total comfort food. We also ordered the bulgogi bibimbap and cheese corn, and mixing everything together was honestly life-changing. I was so full but somehow still wanted more. The portions are generous, everything was flavorful, and it hit exactly the spot I'd been craving. Highly recommend this place, and I can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!

And honestly? It was a great time. The mix of karaoke and barbecue created a fun vibe. That said, there are a few things to keep in mind if you go. Watch your timing in the karaoke rooms and keep an eye on the drink prices, because the bill can add up quickly. For two people, about an hour and a half with a couple of appetizers and one or two drinks came out to around $80 definitely more than I expected. My advice: make sure your group is clear ahead of time on how the room and tab will be split. That way, everyone enjoys the vibe without stressing over the bill later. For me, this was more of a one-time experience rather than a spot I'd frequent. I was there for the vibes of my friend's birthday party!

I feel like I stepped back in time, because it stayed pretty much the same and I think the cook is the same man. My SIL and I had been running errands with my nephews prior to arriving at EA/GM and was super hungry, so we were looking forward to eating at EA before we did the shopping at GM. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we were told that it was take out only and that the dining area was closed and reserved for employees only. Ugh, damn you, COVID! But I understand... So, we did our shopping first, went to order at EA before we cashed out and by the time we cashed out and loaded the car, the food was ready at EA. Since it was getting closer to dinner time at this point, we ordered Kimbap and Mandu that are quick and easy items to shove in our mouths in the car before making the drive back home. The Kimbap was full of the traditional ingredients and tightly rolled. There are 10 pieces in an order. They are made to order, so it does take some time. If you're in a hurry, they usually always have Kimbap at the front of GM by the cashes and it's the people at EA that make it anyway (they also make the kimchi). The mandu were probably from the frozen aisle, but store bought mandu are rarely bad and they were fried to perfection. There are also 10 pieces in an order Just a note though, on the menu board, they are pictured steamed, so make sure you specify. I like them both ways, but I asked for fried so it could easily be eaten in the car. Plus, when they are fried, you don't really need the sauce. They throw a couple of soy and plum sauce packs (chinese take out kind) which are not really the right sauce for them. The plum sauce was definitely not necessary and kind of a waste. Save it for egg rolls. I was too hungry and didn't need the soy sauce anyway and they were great plain. Overall, you can't beat the convenience of the location nor the price. They are pretty well priced and generous with their portions! This visit was pretty short and sweet, but going back brought back memories. I can't wait to return soon so I can taste the Jjampong again and other dishes I used to devour. Hopefully it'll be like it was back then because they used to have the best Jjampong back in the day and it's still the same man cooking...but stay tuned. I'll be back to report! Stay safe, Friends!
