If I could give Budget Radiator and Automotive 10 stars, I absolutely would!…read more We were in Springfield from St. Charles for my daughter's MCDA Honors Choir workshops and concert when our 2015 Honda Odyssey suddenly started flashing warning lights on the highway--FCW, LDW, a flashing Drive indicator, and the check engine light. We were only about 7 miles out from our hotel, but we were worried we might be looking at a transmission replacement as it seemed like the transmission went "limp" and wouldn't change gears while driving! The team at Budget Radiator and Automotive got us in quickly, took the time to thoroughly diagnose the problem, and didn't jump to conclusions or try to sell us unnecessary repairs. They found that the alternator had failed, but they didn't stop there. During the repair they discovered the serpentine belt and tensioner were also failing because the belt kept slipping off. They explained everything clearly, showed us what was happening, and made sure the repair was done correctly. After replacing the alternator, serpentine belt, and tensioner, they checked the transmission fluid at my request, (which looked great), then test drove the van for about 20 miles to make sure everything was working properly before calling us. That's the kind of attention to detail and professionalism every customer hopes for. The van now runs beautifully, all of the warning lights are gone, and we have complete confidence driving it home. When you're traveling and your vehicle breaks down hundreds of miles from home, you're putting a lot of trust in a repair shop you've never met. Budget Radiator and Automotive earned that trust from the moment we walked in. They were honest, knowledgeable, thorough, and genuinely cared about getting us safely back on the road--not just fixing a car. Thank you for turning a stressful situation into such a positive experience. If we're ever in Springfield and need automotive service again, this will be our first call. I highly recommend Budget Radiator and Automotive to anyone looking for a shop they can trust.

I found parts from other vehicles in my truck, (trying not to think the worst about it) when I had to return the truck I would let them know that these parts were in there. After my 3 1/2 years of waiting I finally said "does the truck run" they said yes, just to drive it home and have the steering wheel not set right (after repairs) and dash lights (after repairs)flashing and water leaks (after repairs) I went into the office the next day to speak to Lee of course he wasn't there. I asked over and over " after all this time, how could you let me take this truck off your lot in this condition?" the answer I got was "I don't know, I don't know" Don't fall for the Christian music videos they share in their waiting room. God knows

If you are a woman, I strongly recommend taking your vehicle elsewhere\…read more My experience with this service department was extremely disappointing and concerning\. I was billed for work involving my vehicle, including charges to my warranty, and **work was performed that I did not authorize**\. It took **five separate visits** before the underlying issue was addressed\. On my **fourth visit**, I was specifically assured that my vehicle was **safe to drive**\. I trusted that professional assessment and continued driving the vehicle, including having my children with me\. On my **fifth visit, less than 24 hours later**, I was told that the vehicle was **not safe to drive**\. Thank God nothing happened while my children were in that vehicle\. That change in assessment is extremely concerning\. If the vehicle was not safe to drive, why was I assured less than 24 hours earlier that it was safe? I was also told by the dealership's new car sales manager that, **"Sometimes we have to throw parts at it until we figure out what's wrong with it\."** That statement, particularly in light of the number of visits and the work performed on my vehicle, did not give me confidence that the problem was being properly diagnosed or repaired\. When I questioned why it had taken five visits to resolve the issue, I was met with raised voices rather than a professional explanation\. I also questioned the additional work and requested that the dealership take responsibility for having the resulting issues properly inspected and repaired\. That request was refused\. I am now having to seek an **independent inspection and investigation to determine the full extent of the damage and what repairs may be necessary**\. Customers should be able to trust that work performed on their vehicles has been clearly explained, properly authorized, and completed correctly\. They should also be able to question charges, repairs, and safety concerns without being spoken to disrespectfully\. I strongly recommend that anyone using this service department **document every interaction, verify exactly what work has been authorized, and carefully review all charges and warranty claims**\. This was not simply a disagreement over a repair\. It was a serious breakdown in communication, authorization, diagnosis, customer service, and accountability\. Most importantly, I was given conflicting information about whether my vehicle was safe to drive, and that is something I cannot take lightly when my children are involved\.

Where do I start?…read more Well first off, let's just start with their inability to call, to let you know about your vehicle and its status. Days will go by and you won't hear a thing. You have to call to see how it is doing, that is, if they have even touched it at that point. Then they get huffy with you if you do call. Sorry, not like my one and only vehicle is in there or anything. Sorry to offend or inconvenience you by wondering about the progress of MY vehicle, while I'm having to make arrangements for rides or using another source of transportation. Very unprofessional and rude. If you are so backed up, don't take as many clients. Even a call to say you haven't touched it would be nice, but I guess that's even too much to ask. Then there is the matter of when you do get your vehicle back, things never sound/act 100% right. It seems right at first, but then a week or 2 later you find that something isn't right. So you take it back only to find that after replacing something they fixed, they failed to do one little thing, to which they still charge you over $100 for labor when it was PART OF THE SERVICE YOU ALREADY PAID OVER $1,500 FOR!! So yeah thanks for the rip off. Pathetic. And it seems that every time we bring a vehicle in, it always seems to come back with a new problem, or a fix that they "conveniently do". I've been around for a while and been to many mechanics in my day, but I know a shady one when I see it. Gladly going to steer clear of them. Take someone else's money and waste someone else's time.
