I've found Missouri, and especially the area of Ozark and Nixa, where my daughter and family live, to remind me of New England, where I grew up. Recently, on someone's recommendation I took my car to Springfield to get it fixed, spending several hundred dollars and still having problems afterwards. Kenny at K & S fixed it in under an hour, charging me less than a third of what I paid juts a couple of weeks before. He'll be my goto guy from now on and I'll be sure to recommend him to anyone who needs help with their vehicle, without having to worry about it!

So, when Firestone (in front of Battlefield Mall) told me I needed over a grand of work on my car, I was both worried and skeptical. K&S Auto was recommended to me and I made an appointment. He checked out my car and told me that my car was in great shape and would likely need a tune-up by the end of summer. In short, everything they told me at Firestone was a lie and my car was A-okay. I had him install new brake pads and have had him help us out 3 more times and everytime he has been awesome. If something can wait, he says it. If something is getting serious, he gives me options. I made an…read moreappointment to have my car looked at because of a small bounce - I was told that it wasn't a balance issue by another dealership, so I was expecting it would be shocks and struts all the way around, which they confirmed - original estimate was $1100 and that it would be done in 1 day. I was able to take my car in on a Friday morning so that they would be able to start the work first thing Monday morning - I received a revised estimate on Monday of $1400 - then received a call that the CV boot was leaking and should be replaced - revised again to over $1600 - asked if this would all still be done in 1 day - YES - I went to pick-up my car, when I arrived the car was still on the hoist with no one working on it and the "techs" all standing around chatting. I was told by one of them that the car ready - by another that it was still needing to be aligned - and by a 3rd that the CV boot was now actually not the boot but the CV Axel that still needed to be done. I was told that I would still be able to pick up the car that day - however - I received a car shortly after I left that the CV axel was stuck in the socket and they were unable to free it - would have to be completed the next day. After some discussion I was told that they do not normally perform this type of work which was why it was taking longer than expected - to which I inquired as to why-then did they offer to make this repair and also have this type of work as a "button" on their register. No real answer was given to that question - during that conversation I was told that I would be given a bunch of extra discounts and that some items would not be charged to my bill because of all of the delays and miscommunications that had occurred. The following day when I was told my car was ready, I went in to settle the bill - there were no discounts applied - and when I asked about the discounts - without checking or asking anyone I was told that the total is correct and that there are no discounts. As I was leaving, I asked one of the other people that had worked on my car about why it took so long - his response was that the car didn't arrive when it was supposed to, so they got a late start on it was why. I REALLY hate being lied too and then having them try to blame me for their incompetence - We will NEVER go this or any other Big-0 Tire again - Not that my one car will mean the difference between them making it or not - even when you throw in the other 15 cars that are in our extended family in the area - I just hope that this review is taken to heart by anyone else that my want to have this company perform work on their vehicles - my advice is PLEASE DO NOT!!!! You have to call to see how it is doing, that is, if they have even touched it at that point. Then they get huffy with you if you do call. Sorry to offend or inconvenience you by wondering about the progress of MY vehicle, while I'm having to make arrangements for rides or using another source of transportation. Very unprofessional and rude. If you are so backed up, don't take as many clients. Even a call to say you haven't touched it would be nice, but I guess that's even too much to ask. Then there is the matter of when you do get your vehicle back, things never sound/act 100% right. It seems right at first, but then a week or 2 later you find that something isn't right. So you take it back only to find that after replacing something they fixed, they failed to do one little thing, to which they still charge you over $100 for labor when it was PART OF THE SERVICE YOU ALREADY PAID OVER $1,500 FOR!! So yeah thanks for the rip off. Pathetic. And it seems that every time we bring a vehicle in, it always seems to come back with a new problem, or a fix that they "conveniently do". I've been around for a while and been to many mechanics in my day, but I know a shady one when I see it. Gladly going to steer clear of them. Take someone else's money and waste someone else's time.

Last time I bought a cup of coffee at the McDonald's next door right before I got there and it hadn't even cooled down by the time my service was complete. I really enjoy that getting my oil changed isn't an ordeal I want to put off anymore, its so easy to just pull in and get it taken care of. They send reminder emails with coupons after a few months reminding you how many miles you were at during your last change too, which I'm sure people have mixed feelings on, but I personally really enjoy the reminder since car maintenance is a thing that can slip my mind now and again.
