I bought my car here back in 2020, and have used them for servicing said car since then. They are very helpful, always timely (I always schedule service, never walk in, not even sure if they do walk ins), and they've never talked to me like I was a "dumb woman". That last point is huge for me, and a big part of why I keep coming. Any woman who has tried to go to any car servicing has surely experienced that before, and not once has anyone at Pinegar talked to me like that. They've also never tried to upsell me on services, always explained to me why they do things, and they're always nice. Also, being able to drive my car straight into the garage, hand off my keys, and walk 10 feet into the waiting room, super appreciated by me, I have a disability and not having to walk and stand in line, it's very helpful. Bought a vehicle here and discovered a dent as soon as I got home that was never disclosed. When I called, the salesman (Terry) admitted they knew about it beforehand and chose not to mention it. Then hid behind "as is" and told me I'd have to pay to fix it. On top of that, they promised to clean the vehicle while I signed paperwork--it was still filthy, with trash left inside. Showed up to look at a vehicle this morning. I got to look at it a little before the salesman cane up. I had a chance to notice some issues with the outside of the vehicle, but the most glaring was the flat tire. He asked if I was interested in the vehicle, and told him that I was, but was pearly about some of the flaws. He then asked if the price was too high for me, which I told him no, but would t pay that price due to issues with the vehicle, but would like to drive it, but it has a flat. He looked at me and asked if anything else would do, I told him I came to look at that specific vehicle. He told me to have a nice day and walked off. I don't think he thought I was serious about asking to drive the vehicle. I think he assumed that I would not purchase the vehicle if certain things weren't fixed. I wasted 2 hours and 50 miles to drive to a dealer who obviously didn't want my business. I makes it more understandable that there were no people on the lot looking for cars if this is how your sales people do business. I will purchase a Tahoe Hybrid, but it won't be with You because of how I was treated. Too bad you lost a customer today because of a lazy uncaring salesman. read more

My '19 Corvette was in service here because I trusted them more than Reliable Chevy. Reliable always seems to make things worse and just rack up charges. Fast forward. My car sat here over a month, now before we start I understand parts can be sometimes backordered and they have no control over that so I will give grace. They gave me a free oil change for the long wait. Ok. Fine. What I WONT give grace for is that my car was running "out of character" since I got it back, but dealt with it because maybe I thought new injectors, etc yes maybe it will run a little rough idk maybe they need to be broken in or maybe the ecu needs to reporogram itself and will auto correct. NOPE. I finally got tired of it and called GM Corporate CS. I took it to the GM customer service recommended shop for my Corvette that was given to me after calling the 800#. Out of the way, but I took it anyway. Turns out Pinegar overfilled my oil by 2.5 quarts with my "free oil change" !!!! My Corvette! That was causing a range of issues and bad drive and idle. Like what? You are a professional shop Pinegar. Are you kidding me? Do you not check your work? Very upsetting. I like the service office staff they are great, but I no longer trust the service or the mechanics if this is what happens. We should not have to double check your work. That is absurd. Trust is key. Resolution: 1) I went to the shop GM Corporate Phone Number suggested based on experience and reviews. NOT based on my choice. It was out of the way but did it on GM recommendation and 2) GLAD I DID. If service can't properly give a "free" oil change without doing damage, then I'd rather not have a "free" oil change. I did not request that. I'd just rather have dealt with the fact my car was taking a while to repair. I know it was not their fault on waiting for parts. Again, Pinegar desk people have always been good. Service Techs, however, 2+ quarts OVERFILL on a Corvette...NOT ok. Glad it was resolved. It could have been Very bad. Car runs like I expect it to now. read more

Was sold a bad car (2017 Equinox)) and received terrible service. Car was supposed to be "certified" but both "upper control arms" in back were "not within specifications" and I had a blow out after 3 months because the rims ruined the tire. The tire on the other rear was also shredding and ready to blow out. I had to drive over 100 miles on the tiny spare tire after the blow out to get home & then buy 2 used tires so I could drive the car for work. When I brought it back to Pinegar, I also asked them to repair the antenna, which they forgot to do. After reminding them, I had to wait several more days for them to get it serviced and now the sunroof doesn't work! They also left the ruined tires in my car and tried to keep the used tires, that were still good, for themselves. They also didn't think it necessary to replace the spare tire. Oh ya, when I first bought the car, I had them install a sunroof. I had to wait several weeks before their installer could do the job. The salesman called and told me when the appointment was, I took time off work to drive over 2 hours to their dealership and was 8 miles away when the salesman called to tell me he "made a mistake" and the appointment wasn't until the next week! "could I come back then?". Instead, I drove the 8 miles to the dealership and had to fight with them to give me a loaner so I could leave my car there for them to do the installation and avoid another 4 hour round trip. I've NEVER had such a bad experience with a dealership and service department and would NOT recommend anyone go there. The only reason I decided to drive all the way to Springfield (4 hour round trip) was because of the Pinegar name and reputation. Well, Pinegar's name is now mud to me. read more

Shysters. The one most accurate descriptive word for this dealership, at least based on my unfortunate purchase experience. The salesman was Chris Bunkelman. I went in at 1200 on Saturday 30 April after coordinating with Chris to look at a new Silverado ZR2. He first said he had to confirm with the sales manager if he could sell to me as they cannot sell outside a 100 mile range. He came back on the phone and said he confirmed we were within the 100 mile range. I have confirmed with other dealerships that some are doing this, entirely up to the dealership so there may be some truth to this. We arrived right at 1200 but due to the following shenanigans, we did not leave until after 4pm. The largest portion of the wasted time, about 2 hours, was the story being spun on why my truck was not as valuable as the KBB stated amount of between $34-36K. I was trading in an excellent condition 2015 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn 4WD fully optioned out. First he said I was using the wrong condition for my valuation as they always use good or less. My truck was in excellent condition by KBB definition as there were absolutely no deficiencies with my vehicle. He kept saying that another problem is that my truck is 7 years old and that also impacts the value. Keep in mind my truck had exceptionally low mileage of only 44,296 miles. But that was not where the unscrupulous business practices ended. We sat for over 2 hours while he and the sales manager played a game claiming the sales manager, who never spoke to me through this 2 hour time, was supposedly calling all over trying to get me the best deal possible for my trade in. Finally the salesman came out to us again and said the best the manager could do was $30K because that is the highest price they could get someone to pay for it. He also added that he was in there when the manager was talking to the supposed buyer and the buyer had started at $27K and the manger got him up to $30K. The real deal is that he new how badly my wife wanted the truck and how hard they are to find and took advantage of that to rip us off through this unethical web of lies. The proof of the best price the manger could get was $30K selling to someone was a lie is that Pinegar immediately listed it on there website and on cargurus.com at $36,990, that is above the KBB Private Party excellent rated value and according to cargurus.com is $1,051 below market value. They were not selling this anyone. They ripped me off through lies. They stand to make $6,990 off this deceptive business practice. Had they just been honest and said the best we will do is $30K without the 2 hours of lies and story then I could have made my decision based on that as I did in the past with dealerships who simply state their bottom line without lies as to why. I live my life by one word - integrity. I can accept the bottom line is $30K is all we are willing to do, but don't lie to me like they did and waste 2 hours of my life doing it. Another thing I believe is a lie is that they said there was only one key. I have talked to other dealerships and they all say all vehicles are coming with 2 keys. There are some function shortfalls due to chip shrtages, like in the case of my truck with the park assist sensors, but not with keys. I believe they are holding my key until I provide a positive review in response to this survey; so based on this review I am certain I will never get my second key. They also did not provide me with a copy of what they still owe me, which is the second key and the chip for the park assist sensors. Chris stated that when I get this is survey it is very important that I give a top rated review or he does not get paid, quite certain that is untrue as well as the dealership stands to make $6,990 on my trade. On top of all this, the salesman did not give my wife back her license and mailed it to us which means she could not drive her new truck for 5 days after purchase. Horrible and unethical purchase experience all around. I will never do business with Pinegar Chevrolet again. read more

I was sold a car that is junk. We paid $12,000 for it 6 months ago and it's been in the shop 4 times since. I wanted a different car because my children clearly aren't safe in mine and they told me they'd give me a $5,000 trade in value for my car and acted like it was crazy of me to feel the way I do. The employees are either highly uninformed or they just all out lie to you to make a sale. Either way I wouldn't buy ANYTHING from either lot ever again. I'm having to take my car to Thompson to get it repaired since A. I bought a lemon from Pinegar and B. Thompson cares about their customers enough to provide them with a loaner car when they are working on a car that is STILL UNDER WARRANTY!!!!!!! Every time I have a dealing regarding my car I get more and more upset with Pinegar. I wish I could say exactly how much I regret purchasing from you. I really wish I could find the words to fully express my amount of regret. If I could go back I would have purchased from Thompson --- who is NOW cleaning up YOUR mess. I have been sure to share my experience with everyone in the market for a vehicle. Since my car does qualify under the Missouri Lemon Laws, I will be pursuing action through GM and Buick. These folks are some of the best sales and service oriented automotive sales operations I have ever dealt with. (I am 72 and have seen quite a few). Sales people are informative, helpful and NOT PUSHY. Our buying experience was really low pressure and comfortable. The service department was even better. We had a minor, but persistent, problem with our new Impala that, although diligently pursued, they were unable to resolve. The Service Manager went to bat for us with GM and got it resolved to our complete satisfaction. They will tell me what services they recommend for my car but not be overly pushy about a "sale". As a woman I often worry that I will get taken advantage of when it comes to things I am not familiar with. This was by far the worst car purchase, car service, customer service we have ever experienced. We bought our 2012 Impala just before my going on deployment in May of 2012. After I left for deployment the car started to have make a low rumbling sound from the exhaust system. My wife took it in and got the old "could not duplicate" story. I told her to leave it and I would deal with it when I returned. When I returned I took the vehicle in for that problem and an annoying rattling sound it was making from the bumper area. We go to pick it up and again we are told the "could not duplicate". Mind you this happens EVERY SINGLE MORNING without fail when you start it up!!! I had a firm discussion with the man who passed himself off as the service manager and they decided to keep the vehicle over night and see what they could hear in the morning. First thing in the morning, the phone rang and I was told the couldn't hear what I was referring to. SERIOUSLY!! I immediately drove to Pinegar..took the mechanic out to the vehicle..started the vehicle and WALA...there it was. THEN all of the sudden he could hear it. RIDICULOUS!! Problem fixed right?? Nope...it took them 2 more times to "fix" the problem and their fix was to RIG the exhaust with weights ( that look Ridiculous from a distance, as you can SEE them hanging from the exhaust). Oh, by the way, the rattles never did get fixed. Then we started having problems with the airbag sensor and the passenger seat indicator. The indicator in the seat was starting to protrude up through the seat making it very uncomfortable. They put some foam over top of it but that did not help the problem and in fact probably exacerbated it. The airbag indicator started showing that the airbag on the passenger side was not working and would switch on/off on/off constantly. This made it a HUGE safety hazard. We had the vehicle into Pinegars shop 4 different times to fix this problem and it was never fixed. We lost faith in Pinegars service department to be able to fix any problem our vehicle had. We grew tired of driving back and forth to their facility just to NOT have the problems fixed. Never once did they offer anything for our trouble. We did get a rental car...but that's part of the warranty and had NOTHING to do with Pinegar. When I asked what they were going to do to comp us for all of this trouble, the response I received from the man I later found out was NOT the service manager as he said he was, was, "we will give you 1 free oil change". Gee...I thank you. We decided we had had enough so we turned our car in as a lemon. GM decided (after MUCH negotiations) to repurchase the vehicle and do a trade for a different vehicle. Unfortunately we found ourselves BACK at Pinegar. Not ONCE did the General Manager call us, email us, send us a letter, come out and greet us and say..."I'm sorry for all the trouble you had with your last vehicle, let's see if we can make this right." What we did get was treated like WE were the problem and that WE owed THEM something. We picked out a vehicle trying to stay at a certain price because we had no idea where we were going to come out in financing. It was a base model vehicle and did not have some of the things we wanted on it. We asked if they would add some of the things we wanted to the deal. They would not consider one single item. Not even a few free oil changes. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! We asked several times what the financing was coming out to be so that we could change things if we needed to and could never get a straight answer, and because it was a GM buy back deal we had a deadline to sign the papers, they knew that. Pinegar Chevrolet is out for one thing and one thing only and that is money. They do not care about their customers. They made that plainly obvious. As a man who serves his country and comes back to this kind of treatment. You can bet I will take my money elsewhere and make sure others know the disrespect we have been shown! Worst service ever. Took my car in for an oil change, and within 2 hours I had a check engine light on, an airbag light and two others concerning traction. I had my husband check out the engine and he found that the air filter hose was not hooked up to the engine. We proceeded to check the oil and they had not even put oil in it,or if they did it was not enough. We will never go back and I will never recommend this business to anyone. read more
