These are the guys that you want if like me, you want to move high end appliances acquired at pre-demo sales.
I was in a unique situation. I had found the perfect built-in refrigerator at a re-use sale and needed to get it off the uhaul and into my 100 year old Chicago Bungalow. 42 inches wide, 24 inches deep, 82 inches tall and weighing 600lbs., I was turned down by everybody. Companies selling these types of appliances refused to do it because it was not purchased through them. Professional moving companies refused to do it because of the tight turns in the house. Restaurant equipment companies would not share their delivery drivers' referrals or didn't want the liability. One company took my money and then tried to tell me that this refrigerator was not a "residential" refrigerator.
K&D movers came to me through one of the moving contracting companies. They were punctual and polite, but more importantly they were the only ones that offered solutions. The crew leader looked at me and said, "I can do this". His confidence was unshakable.
The crew arrived early on the day of the move and assessed the two entrances. They came prepared with tools to take down doors and remove fencing. (Which they did). The first attempt did not have the space needed and they took this appliance UP AND DOWN the front cement stairs of my porch. The second attempt was successful but it required holding the appliance like a coffin to get it in my home, which they also did.
These gentlemen have heart, their commitment to get the job done shines through. What makes them special is their experience with large pieces and challenging residential spaces. I was impressed by how well they worked as a team to overcome the challenges of weight or narrow hallways. I found their pricing reasonable, their knowledge of moving strategy sound and their work practices equal to any professional mover I have ever dealt with.
I will use them again and refer them to anyone who needs moving services at a reasonable rate with first class practices. read more
