Please save yourself some stress and go with another company. These folks will wrap you in with a great sales pitch. "Things will be easy, we will take care of you, etc" They give you a good/fair price. Once they have your deposit and pick up your things (which was late from date I requested) they will take their own sweet time delivering and they will likely not give any updates even after you call and call and call. Or, if you do call and get a hold of someone they will say that they need to "contact dispatch" in order to get you any updates and they will call you back. They don't call back. That happened 3 times. I still have not had my things delivered and it has been over 2 weeks no word. I FINALLY got a hold of manager who told me they legally have "21 days" to get you your things and it was in the small writing on paper you sign. Here is something else to NOTE. They will take your credit card to reserve but they dont really tell you that they require you to pay CASH OR POSTAL MONEY ORDER when the movers arrive. No cashiers check, check, c card. I was like is this 1986? Postal Order..I don't know about you... but personally handing over a grand in cash to a mover seems weird. I think most their reviews are fake. This will likely be removed. The Long Distance Moving Experts name is used by 2 companies - one out of LA and the other out of Chicago. Be very careful to choose the right one. The Los Angeles company is incredibly professional but the Chicago one is the absolute opposite. When you read reviews that differ so much, it is because those having a terrible experience were dealing with the Chicago company and those singing praises were dealing with the LA company. I had a terrible experience with the Chicago company and I would only give them a 1 star review (and that is only because I can't give them a zero) - but when I contacted the LA company by accident, I found the people I wish that I had worked with. These folks really went out of their way to try to help me with my complaint against the Chicago company. I hope this saves someone else. read more

My parents had moved to a small-town in Chicago a few years ago, and decided to get remarried and move back home. They had considerable trouble until we were referred to Long Distance Moving by a friend. These guys were such well mannered and and worked extremely hard. The address of the company provided to me actually belonged to a different moving company- with mostly 1 star reviews. After I provided my credit card information I never heard back from the agent I was working with...I obviously cancelled my card the next day. Easy to deal with in person, able to answer all questions over the phone, good rates. If you're looking to avoid the usual headaches when moving things long distance then this would be a spot that I recommend. Went home to Florida for the holidays recently but I wanted to bring a bunch things with me. Things that were too big to fit on a plane so I had them shipped with Long Distance Moving Experts. They were one of the first places I called to get a quote from but afterwards l called a couple other spots just to make sure the rate they gave me was fair. Not only was it fair but their policy is you just pay once up front for the move after you give them the start and ending locations. I noticed other places didn't offer this so that made this company sound that much better of a choice. I'm giving this place 5 stars because I didn't have any problems with the move. Everything arrived on time, nothing was damaged and they made the whole experience as easy as they could for me. Went to LIU for my full college career and having to go home was very difficult. Not only would I miss the area, but the moving part was not appealing to me at all. I actually heard of this company from my roommate who went back home to CA. The staff not only came to my apartment and helped me pack up everything that was too big for me to lift, but they even helped me unpack everything back home. The drive was long, but we made it to my hometown in good time and there were no damages to any of my fragiles, such as figurines that I had collected in NY. They did everything I asked them to do and the move was complete and done in no time. As a recent graduate, pricing was very important to me and everything in total was very affordable. I needed new furniture for my apartment so I did what any other female would do and splurged. I only needed to purchase a new couch, but of course, I went all out and bought a loveseat and new center table to go with it! Thing is, all of this was not going to fit into my friend's pickup truck, so I had to find another way. Never thought I would be using a moving company for this, but I found Long distance moving experts and they were able to assist me. The drive was not the closest, so this was very convenient for me. All my furniture left in good condition and arrived to my place the same way. It was quick, easy, and my things were secured and protected. Not only did they pack and transport my things, but they also helped me arrange them into my home the way I wanted. These guys were able to save us a lot of money on our move and charged us a rate which was at least half of what the competitors were offering. We decided to take a chance and hire these guys to manager move and were very happy to find out that we made the right decision. It took them less than just a few days to get everything cleared out of her house and another twenty four hours to get our personal belongings situated into the new location. From the very bottom of my heart I believe that these guys have the ability and the resources available to take down any sort of move. By the moment they walked in our place they were not only friendly but also helpful and asked my parents how they wanted entire process to be done. My parents are not too picky at this and let the guys decide how it would be easier for them. This moving company went above and beyond to make our move the best we could ask for! My dad has a huge conference table that weighs about 1,500 pounds. We needed to move this granite table down flights of stairs and hopefully into our new office. I don't know how, but these guys did it without any issues and didn't leave one mark. I only choose 1 star because you can't choose no stars! Do your homework and research movers! Check the BBB for this company out of Illinois. They are F rated! This company over inflates your cubic feet, makes you pre-sign the contract, they don't pack all the items that you were quoted with and then charge you extra for stuff like a bbq pit when NO ONE told you they cost extra , they tell you that you have to pay NOW to hold your delivery date and then "losses contact" with the delivery truck for like 10 days past your delivery date. If you have a complaint, you're not allowed to speak with a manager, because apparently managers don't talk to customers. This company is NOT customer service oriented AT ALL! READ THE CONTRACT BEFORE YOU SIGN. GET OUT YOUR MEASURING TAPE AND DONT SIGN IF YOU FEEL LIKE YOUR BEING STRONG ARMED DO TO SO. I'm just saying to do your research. read more

I am so happy we went with Long Distance Moving Experts for our move! The rep that helped me schedule us was thorough and helpful. I was pleased with the price, and the service they provided was outstanding! Movers had no issues with big furniture, they were careful enough to fit everything easily out of the house and into the truck, and brought some extra supplies that helped us overall with the move. LDME was the worst moving company I have ever dealt with. The lies and deception started from the first contact. Our so called Moving Consultant told us if we paid our deposit that night they could guarantee our delivery date. our items showed up 15 days late. We were given an estimate for 870 cubic foot. The pick up guys over estimated the actually cubic foot at over 1000. I measured the truck we used just over 800 and he billed us for 200 cubic ft more then used. They were 6 hours late for pick up and finished loading at 9 pm at night, then expected us to come up with a larger payment. They expect cash at 9 pm at night. We tried calling many times to find our belongings. They wouldn't answer unless we called from a different number. The packed heavy boxes on top of light ones, we had items damaged due to pour packing. If you choose to use LDME Read your contract. Better yet don't use this company and save your self frustration. Read more review their are plenty of people who have complained. Check Chicago BBB, Yelp, Face Book but don't read the company reviews they don't post the bad ones. I know because mine never showed up. Also their is supposedly two LDME movers in Chicago. I am pretty sure they are both the same company. read more
