The barista was very friendly and we got our drinks relatively quick. They serve cold brew year round here and at their cafes. Other coffee huts make their own or carry their cold brew but not year round. I like that they post their flavored syrups so you know what they have also. Downside- they are a bit pricey compared to other coffee huts, even though the majority of the other huts all around town carry kaladi brothers coffee. I believe they have health insurance and pay their employees well(?) so they charge more? Secondly they also do not have stickers for your cup opening nor do they do punch cards. The girl said if they did punch cards here they would have to do it for all their cafes. I get it but they are not being competitive with other huts by following that practice. I got a 12oz mocha, for $5!! If my husband wasn't so nice I would never come here and pay that especially when I can work up to a free coffee down the road or across town at our favorite hut. A large cold brew was $5.25. Other places charge around 4.50 for each of our drinks respectively.

The business also supports the Wounded Warrior Project which makes this place stand out from the others. I ordered an Iced Americano with sugar-free Amaretto, a refreshing and a great value at $2.50 for a 16oz. They also have some interesting and surprising items in addition to their standard coffee drink and food fare. These include an Apple Pie Latte, an Incredible Hulk Redbull Smoothie with green-colored whipped cream to symbolize St. Patrick's Day, and the Double Whammy.... (a lethal combination of Redbull and Rockstar, if you dare...) This is another good addition for the south side when looking for something quirky off the beaten path.

Lotus drinks can sometimes lean way too sweet, but this one was smooth, flavorful, and not overpowering at all, perfectly done. I also grabbed a breakfast burrito and wow. It was packed with hashbrowns, eggs, reindeer sausage, and cheese, served hot and fresh with a side of sour cream and salsa. Super filling, super flavorful, and exactly what you want from a drive-thru breakfast. Service was great too, friendly, efficient, and welcoming, which always makes the experience even better.
