Tried DG's Espresso for the first time recently because of their Valentine's menu and now I'm officially a fan. Everything was *so* good. I ordered the Love Bug Lotus and was really impressed with how nicely balanced it was. Lotus drinks can sometimes lean way too sweet, but this one was smooth, flavorful, and not overpowering at all, perfectly done. I also grabbed a breakfast burrito and wow. It was packed with hashbrowns, eggs, reindeer sausage, and cheese, served hot and fresh with a side of sour cream and salsa. Super filling, super flavorful, and exactly what you want from a drive-thru breakfast. Service was great too, friendly, efficient, and welcoming, which always makes the experience even better. DG's is a conveniently located coffee hut on my early morning commute, so I've stopped here numerous times over the years. As time has gone on, prices have gone up and morale down, like anywhere else. They have a lot of creative drinks that change monthly and the exterior of the business has been recently remodeled and parking lot repaved. The baristas working there are always very pretty and mostly polite, so that's a plus. read more

Normally, I've had great experiences here, but lately the customer service has gone downhill. The baristas barely acknowledge your order and make you feel like you're interrupting their conversation. This has been the case the last 3-4 times I've visited. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this location anymore -- the attitude and service have become really disappointing. read more

Typically have had good service here, as well as good drinks and food. Expect long waits. While the hut is in a good location for health care workers, the hut is awkwardly situated in a small parking lot, so getting in line is a hassle. Last time I went I asked for light ice and the young lady filled up the entire cup with ice, so there was barely any drink. Felt like a rip off with the price I paid. It also completely waters down the drink. I said "thank you" and she just said "ya" without any sort of enthusiasm or smile. I love this place, but coming here on Sundays is a drag. They have a new barista on her own he and she takes forever even taking your order. I waited ten minutes for her to ask what I wanted and still didn't get to making my drink. Officially 12 mins just wasting gas. It took 18 minutes to get my drink. All I ordered was an iced redbull. I've decided I'm not coming here in Sundays. She's far too slow and has made me late to work twice when I've come here with plenty of time before work. read more

My favorite coffee stand. It's close to home, makes good coffee, has a huge variety, staff is super nice, and has HEALTHY options. This coffee stand is owned and operated by a local, spirited young woman. She hires the nicest staff members, who are all happy to be at work, and are very helpful and knowledgeable about the products in this unexpected coffee hut. The owner has researched each product to carefully select a different kind of selection for customers. This hut offers everything from bullet-proof coffee, whey protein, plan based protein, vegan options, to just a regular coffee that you need. It is customized and quick to your needs! If you have a specific need, staff here listens and will make sure you get what you need. She has worked hard to make sure that her stand is well branded. You will not miss the cute purple coffee stand! This is easily my favorite coffee stand to go to in Anchorage. read more

I'm putting two stars because They are WAY overcharging for coffee. $4.25 for a 12oz mocha. If I knew I could get a 16oz for only 25 cents more I would have. There are coffee huts in Anchorage that charge 3 dollars or 3.50 for a 12 oz mocha it's crazy what they charge here. First time I came here I think it was 3.50 for a 12oz mocha but they asked to keep my change. I won't be giving them another chance. I didn't even get my punch card punched. It's too bad because they are right down the road from work. I will continue to drive 20 minutes to get a coffee elsewhere. read more

I was just there and would NOT recommend. The menu says locally baked bagels but these were definitely pre-packaged Costco bagels. We asked for a bagel with cream cheese and she tossed it in the bag with a condiment size package of cream cheese. Not enough to cover the bagel and difficult to spread when you're driving. Also asked for an americano and she didn't ask if I wanted cream and sugar so I assumed she put it in the bag but she didn't. And to top it off, she didn't give me my change back probably assuming it was a tip..it's a drive thru!!! You don't tip at the McDonald's drive thru so what made her think that was a tip? she didn't provide a service that would warrant a tip, she poured regular coffee in a cup and tossed a couple bagels in a bag. read more

I found this little coffee hut while driving northbound on Lake Otis. I was surprised that this particular business wasn't listed on the Yelp website as I have seen plenty of cars coming and going throughout the day. DG's Espresso is located on the corner of Lake Otis and Tudor in a parking lot adjacent to a pharmacy off of 42nd Ave. Accessibility is easy especially for one of the busiest intersections in town. There is a left turn at the median going onto 42nd if you're traveling southbound without having to make a U-Turn at the intersection. The baristas here are always friendly and quick with your order. Standard wait times for each car is a reasonable 4-5 minutes especially during the rush hour. I decided to go with a 16oz. London Fog (a latte with Earl Grey tea, lavender, steamed milk, and vanilla) along with a Stuffed Hash Brown (sausage and cheese) which is an item that I don't come across too often at other drive-thrus and wanted to give it a try. The London Fog was very refreshing with more emphasis on the lavender and the milk. The Stuffed Hash Brown was a unique take on a breakfast burrito with crispy hash browns serving as the wrap. The sausage and melted cheese all complemented each other and I could've ordered two instead of one for a meal. Punch cards are offered for first-time customers with a free 16oz drink after the 10th punch. A good alternative for coffee instead of having to deal with the long waits at the neighboring Starbucks. read more

Though I'm not sure if it's just them not actively listening, or forgetting and not double-checking... but about 50% of the time my drink is not correct. Typically I get an americano of some sort (usually too hot to drink right away) - though once I get a chance to take a sip it's not done properly. Missing a flavor, or white chocolate, or something along those lines. This is a relatively consistent occurrence. To the point where it's not worth the hassle to pay and wait for a messed-up order. The coffee itself is good - it's not burnt, stale, or sour. They know how to make a good cup of coffee. They could maybe just work on consistency and not missing things. read more

I really like this coffee stand and the coffee chicks know it. They see me day in and day out, and they always remember stuff about me. It's also nice that they're conveniently located like two blocks from my office. They never remember my drink but that's because I almost never order the same thing! I have tried pretty much everything on their menu. The matcha latte was amazing, the Americanos are always good, and the cold brew is STRONG. They also have a sugar-free mocha mix that is the best one I've had yet. This is just a damn good coffee stand. I recently had surgery on my collarbone and they remember me and always ask how it's doing. Coffee is coffee (with minor differences between the beans, the brew methods and the preparation). The experience, and the customer service, are why we all keep buying coffee out instead of dripping it at our homes. read more

Sometimes the customer service is exceptional and friendly and other times it is not, being "greeted" by a rude employee is not welcoming. If, I could give DG's Espresso negative stars I would & here is why. This morning (3/22/23) I Stopped to grab my morning red bull & the lady at the window not only wasn't paying attention when I placed my order & had came back to the window several times to ask about it (not the problem). However, she had an attitude & was very rude. She also over charged me for my drinks & 'forgot' my breakfast & then wanted to charge me again for it. This is not the first encounter I have had w/this lady over the past 3-4 years & every time she has always been rude. Nearly every DG employee who has made my drinks has been exceptionally rude, but this morning was the worst by far. I do not recommend this coffee shop unless you want to waste your time waiting in line (on average I have waited up to 20 minutes w/ only 1-2 cars in front of me & on the other side) & then to get to the window to place your order & be treated horribly. read more

Used to go here pretty frequently, however the prices have never been the same, despite ordering the same thing every time, the same size, the same exact way, it can range from $4.25 - $6.75... why? Also it's always a hit or a miss if it's good or not. So much inconsistency. So I started trying other items off the menu, often times what I order is really good, but after a dollar or two tip, it's an $8-$9 drink a lot of the time. Also depending if I drive or if my wife drives, or if we are together or not, when I pull up the girls always seem nice and "friendly", but when my wife pulls up, they are, quite frankly, cold and snubbish. One of my favorite coffee drive ups in anchorage. Me and my best friend went everyday, sometimes twice a day in high school. I felt like the regular baristas were like friends.
