We love going to DG's for their lotus and monthly specials! They recently added dirty sodas to their menu as well! Give them a try

Friendly service, easy access to hut and delicious lotus! Get there during happy hour and all 16 ounce drinks $4 bucks!

Stopped here on a sunny Sunday afternoon for fun refreshing drinks. It was our first visit. Our barista was welcoming and efficient. Drinks came out fast but weren't the best we've had at a coffee hut. I believe we ordered an ocean water, mango fruit smoothie and a redbull smoothie.

Huge chai latte drinker. A co worker went on a coffee run and I just love this chai latte. Sweet like you would expect a chai latte to be. Kind of on the milky side. But that's how I like it.

Pretty nice area to have a coffee shop on the UMed district. Fairly nice baristas. They offer a variety of options for your caffeine needs.

My favorite coffee stand. It's close to home, makes good coffee, has a huge variety, staff is super nice, and has HEALTHY options. This coffee stand is owned and operated by a local, spirited young woman. She hires the nicest staff members, who are all happy to be at work, and are very helpful and knowledgeable about the products in this unexpected coffee hut. The owner has researched each product to carefully select a different kind of selection for customers. This hut offers everything from bullet-proof coffee, whey protein, plan based protein, vegan options, to just a regular coffee that you need. It is customized and quick to your needs! If you have a specific need, staff here listens and will make sure you get what you need. She has worked hard to make sure that her stand is well branded. You will not miss the cute purple coffee stand! This is easily my favorite coffee stand to go to in Anchorage.

I'm putting two stars because They are WAY overcharging for coffee. $4.25 for a 12oz mocha. If I knew I could get a 16oz for only 25 cents more I would have. There are coffee huts in Anchorage that charge 3 dollars or 3.50 for a 12 oz mocha it's crazy what they charge here. First time I came here I think it was 3.50 for a 12oz mocha but they asked to keep my change. I won't be giving them another chance. I didn't even get my punch card punched. It's too bad because they are right down the road from work. I will continue to drive 20 minutes to get a coffee elsewhere.

All your 12 ounce cups leak from the seam going down the middle of the cup. It happens almost immediately after you pour it.

I visited Anchorage for 2 weeks and visited this coffee shop at least 4 times…read more I tried their lattes, mochas, and eggnog latte. I've had their burritos and their pastries. None of it disappointed. I ordered my mocha half-sweet (as usual), and it was perfect. Still had a bit of sweetness but mostly dark chocolate velvety. I'm very picky with my lattes (especially when they give too much foam), but that wasn't an issue! I loved it. The veggie burrito is bomb. I had it twice. Reindeer sausage was also cool. We ended up taking the cinnamon roll back home so we could heat it up, but I'm sure we could have just asked. The scones were fire! The lemon-blueberry scone is perfect for people who like pastries that aren't as sweet with more fruit-forward flavors. I've also gotten the pre-packaged Bob's Red Mill oatmeal cup, and they'll add steamed milk/hot water for you if you ask. The line can get long, buy come on, it's the only coffee shop so close to this residential area. The most I waited for a drink (from the back of the line which was close to the door.. to receiving my drink) was 20'. They are doing their best and do it with good attitudes.

It's apparently from the top down . I said the wrong thing to Ariel a manager and she got so mad her eyes turned fully black. Fully black? Ted bundy did this when he got upset. She immediately gossiped to the head manager Abby who then encouraged the rest of the staff to be even more hostile to the point they will simply stand there and act arrogant and passive aggressive when asked for a cup of coffee or hot water . I've simply walked out more than once . Absolutely intolerable. I hesitated leaving a review but Ive absolutely given up on this place . I suspect my food was screwed with on at least one occasion and several female staff I feel deliberately screw up my coffee on The regular and meet me with open hostility . I have had hot coffee "accidentally" spilled on me more than once. Sorry about your dad hon . The staff is also lazy never or rarely wiping things down. Sticky tables are gross . Ive tried being polite, leaving tips, doing anything other than leaving this review but they are bound and determined to be absolutely OBSTINATE to the point I do not feel safe eating food the staff handles in any way shape or form. Yes they EARNED this review. Every word. If you really want to form a mean girls club instead of simply serving coffee you should look for another line of work. I see this place going out of business if kaladis doesn't find new management for this place. Coffee is ok . Only half the power outlets work now. Id only drink the morning coffee tho as it's self serve and staff doesn't handle it. That about sums it up .

It was always VERY different than the main Cafe and warranted a call from the office to find out what their specials were. The ratio of quality, price and serving size was almost always a better deal than the cafeteria. I recently moved to UMed and was wondering if the Cafe still made these great deals. I wasn't disappointed. I tried their special of the day, chicken bacon ranch calzone (or Stromboli if you're from Jersey). Damn, it was good. I'm saving half for lunch tomorrow. It had wonderful veggies that weren't overcooked, in addition to tasty ranch sauce, bacon and chicken, with marina on the size (not needed.) They had a lot of other great selections today, including some great looking soups and sandwiches. I'll definitely be making this a regular stop for lunch. Best kept secret in Anchorage. Cheaper than a lot of places too. So bizarre it's a hospital Cafe. Bring your own drink and your tab will be under 8 bucks. When the weather is nice you can take your lunch down to the ground floor patio next to the Creek. In the winter, the second floor tables have a beautiful view of the snowy forest and sometimes their is live music in the lobby below. My favorite spot to enjoy my lunch in the 2nd floor lobby adjacent to the Cafe next to the fireplace. There's alsona few tables nestled between the large tropical plants on the sky bridge, which can be very soothing on cold winter day, and has an amazing view of the mountains.

I'd been wanting to go here for the longest time, having seen someone having an afternoon tea through the window. Finally today, we decided to go. I was sure they did lunch items, but couldn't find a menu anywhere. The server apologized and handed me a menu, and pointed out the soup specials. Husband selected the loaded baked potato soup, and I chose the curried egg salad sandwich. He got an Americano (because there was no drip available) and I requested English Breakfast Tea, noticing that they had big black tubs of teas around the shelves. I requested skim milk (it wasn't available) and had to settle for whole milk. At this stage I'll point out that I am 100% English, I moved here in 2012, and it's difficult to get a good strong cup of English Breakfast Tea in town (The Perfect Cup was a noticeable exception to this, and were indeed the perfect cup of strong English black tea) but I had high hopes for somewhere called a Tea Lounge. His coffee was served quickly, but I waited a while for my tea. It arrived with the milk already in it, and had virtually no colour at all, so I could instantly tell, it wasn't strong enough. I took a sip, couldn't taste any tea, and I took it to the counter and asked for an extra tea bag. 2 of the counter staff seemed to need to deal with this issue, and kept my mug of tea behind the counter, and I was sent to the cashier to pay $5 for a brand new cup to be made. I'm quite outraged by this. I had already paid for the tea, my tea was made wrong, I was happy to pay to add an extra tea bag, or leaves to the cup I already had, or have them remake it to my liking, but I am aghast to have to pay twice for one mug of tea. After another wait, the tea was brought to the table - no milk, so I asked for milk. A jug of milk was brought, but no spoon to stir with. Again, this was weak tea. I have tea bags sent to me from home, I make it for myself every morning. This was weak tea. I had asked them to make the second mug STRONG. Am I not making myself clear? Anyway, the dining room was mostly empty, a reserved table's customers came in, and there was a guy sitting in a corner space. We had to wait an interminably long time, for a bowl of soup and cold sandwich requiring no cooking. The server brought the soup out 1st, soup splashed all over the plate. It was a nice big bowl. However, the potatoes in this soup are not baked potatoes, they're boiled. The bacon has not been cooked prior to putting it in the soup. And every other time I've had loaded baked potato soup, it's got a creamy broth. This is a runny broth. I love loaded baked potato soup, but that didn't look appealing to me at all. My egg salad sandwich followed, I was even more disappointed by this I think. I believe this egg salad is prepared in a food processor, as there are no discernible pieces of egg, it's kind of like a spread if you will, and a very thin one. A smear on one side of the bread. However if you love arugula, and tomatoes, you'd like this sandwich, because they are violently, aggressively abundant with it, to the point that I could not taste any curried egg salad whatsoever. I'll stick to making my own, at home, I shred the egg in a grater so there aren't big chunks of egg, but it still has the egg salad flavour. This was bland. Like I say, all I could taste was arugula. Best thing about this - the potato chips were fresh. I do feel VERY disappointed and let down by my experience today. It was an expensive lunch, an even more expensive mug of mediocre tea, which is ludicrous in a place calling themselves a Tea Lounge. I won't be revisiting, no matter how pretty the space.

I came here for high tea which was something new, so I had no point of reference on what to expect. Overall, I'd give it a B. The food items were good and presented in an attractive way, and I felt very ladylike eating such dainty little treats! Plenty enough for two people, I even took some home. An entire small pot of tea plus a free re-steeping is included in the cost of your ticket. Price wise, I would say everything was more than reasonable for Anchorage. My only complaint, and I'm not sure I would even call it that? is that our server seemed a little unfamiliar with the operation. In her own world a lot. Ended up cashing ourselves out at the front which was probably preferred anyway I'm sure I will be back.
