I'm not a huge pancake person, but my husband and I really wanted to find sourdough pancakes while in Alaska. They did not disappoint. They're thin and flavorful. Staff repeatedly acknowledged and served people they clearly knew while we were left waiting and largely ignored. The service was slow, and we had to work much harder than we should have just to get someone's attention. It wasn't busy enough to explain the lack of service, and we never felt welcomed or valued as paying customers. Everyone deserves the same level of courtesy and attention, whether it's their first visit or their hundredth. Unfortunately, this experience made us feel like outsiders, and it left a very negative impression. We won't be returning, and I hope the restaurant takes customer service more seriously so future guests have a better experience.

I had a zen chai once and it rocked my world, it tasted completely different than the last 2-3 times. I think the first time someone may have given me an AK chai by mistake or there's a new brand if anyone else is confused why their zen chai is tasting different. It's kinda sour/citrusy which I'm not digging

Iced brew is on tap but also available in growlers and now they also sell canned iced coffee (which has also been sold recently at Costco). They also have kombucha on tap. I think menu items have been fewer during COVID, but they previously had freshly made sandwiches. Now, seems like more in the case and a variety of pastries, which are discounted later in the day. Space is large. Lots of tables and spread out. Good wifi. Minimal plug access if you are laptop user. There are rotating artist displays month-to month, often with pieces for sale. Staff are always friendly. Wait can be a little longer than other places, but it is worth it! Gender-neutral bathroom. Wine shop attached if you want to pick something up while there.

This Dutch Bros Girl Found Her Alaska Coffee!…read more Let me start by saying this girl is a HUGE Dutch Bros fan, and finding out Alaska doesn't have Dutch Bros meant I needed to find a substitute for the week. I took a chance on Kaladi Brothers Coffee and ordered an iced salted caramel mocha. Let me tell you... solid 10/10. It wasn't overly sweet, the flavors were perfectly balanced, and it was exactly what I wanted in an iced coffee. I liked it so much that this definitely wasn't a one-time visit. I ended up stopping at different Kaladi locations throughout our week in Alaska because once I find a good coffee, I'm sticking with it. Safe to say, Kaladi became my Alaska coffee spot, and I'll absolutely be back the next time we visit!
