Conveniently located on the corner of Arctic Blvd. and W. International Airport Rd., in a car wash parking lot, across the street from Heidi's Family Restaurant (great breakfast joint by the way). This cute little coffee shack came in clutch on our recent trip to Anchorage and being just down the street from our hotel made it extra convenient. I had an iced white mocha breve with added English toffee syrup (so yum!), it was nice and smooth, not bitter and the balance between creaminess and sweetness was perfect. I kind of wonder if Alaska's clean, glacial, mountain spring water plays a role in the coffee being so good up here -- I haven't had a bad cup yet -- but I must say, Boom stood out enough to inspire me to leave this review. I also appreciate their large cup being a true large -- it actually seemed bigger than most, which I appreciated. Our barista was helpful and had a very kind demeanor. The fact that this place is open 24/7 is a major bonus in itself. We will definitely make a point to stop by next time we're in town, and you should too. Minus 1 star because they don't have a menu posted anywhere, I had to find a VERY old yelp pic for reference. I decided to pull in to this little coffee hut on a TOTAL whim, I needed a little Christmas Eve pick me up. It's a very accessible spot so that's a plus AND they're open 24 hours which is really cool!! The staff were super nice, and they put 6 shots in a large Americano (YEAH). This place was so slow! I would never come back based on waiting 40 mins to not even order with only two cars in front of us. We can just for the bear spray and nowhere on the website or booth said we can walk up to the door to get the spray. We would have purchased the spray at rei but they weren't open yet. Their coffee is consistently good. White mochas are my favorite and more often than not are not too milky, perfect amount of sweet and bitter! Their red bulls are great too! Their baristas are so sweet and friendly too! I love the pick up option too, it's nice when they get busy. Sometimes you may have to wait awhile but it's totally worth it. As the only 24-hour coffee stand, the drive-through line reflects this. I visited the location two days in a row due to the long wait to order and receive your items. The first day that I went, it was around 9:30 p.m., and I waited for 25 minutes. I was not close to the front of the line, as I was the third vehicle. The following day, I visited around 9:00 p.m., and Jr still took around 25-35 minutes to receive one drink. Once you pull up to the window, the service is nice, but there aren't any menus! The barista surprised me with a drink and it was good! It has coconut in it, it was a soda if I remember correctly. I have lived in Anchorage, my whole life. I have basically been to every coffee hut there is. I have gone to "Boom!" quite a few times in the last few years, but recently I think it has been going down hill. While they can be busy, the barista's are initially very pleasant, but end up being short and walking away at any pause in what I was trying to say. As well as last time I went, my lotus was completely flat. It was like drinking juice. :( read more

We came on New Year's Day because nobody else was open. 4 cars in line on each side. We had two in front of us when we first got there. Took about 15 minutes. They have no menu on the boards. I think the little tv outside was supposed to have the menu? But when you drive to the window you wouldn't be able to see it. Is this so they can charge you whatever they want? That's my take on it. Shady business model ‍ As the coffee goes, the taste is pretty weak. Mocha tastes like chocolate only. Americano tastes like syrup. I dont think they put the extra shots for a 16 verses a 12 oz. Bummer. It's how they save money too. Another thing, no physical punch card. It's an online one. We declined. We will be picking another shop next time. That's a lot of negatives for me when there are plenty of other coffee shop on every corner in this city. People come here because they are open 24/7. I always wondered why they were so busy and it's because the service is quick and the coffee is pretty good! I got a 12oz soy latte, extra shot and 1 pump of raspberry. The soy tasted fresh and the espresso was not burnt. I've had milk/soy taste like refrigerator and espressos over extracted tasting dry, bitter and burnt so my luck at coffee huts are usually not that great. I'll be back to see if they're consistent but based on today's experience I'd say go, go, go! *Side note* I really appreciate that the young lady put a sticky stopper w/o asking - I'll be driving away and I don't want it spilled before getting to my destination. Honestly when they first started it was amazing! The wait wasn't 45 mins long. I'm glad they are busier but the fact now you have to wait atleast 20 mins to get a coffee or a redbull is a bit much. The different flavor combinations are great! Coffee is always good. Redbull flavors are always on point. read more

I stopped by Boom today on my way to work. As I pulled in, another car came around the other side of the building and cut me off to get in front. The car in front of me had ordered food and it was going to take awhile to complete their order. The barista came out the back door to take my order to speed things up. I came down here a few days ago to get my coffee fix after finishing up an 8-hour shift. Boom! Coffee is a coffee hut located at the corner of International Airport Rd. and Arctic Blvd. next to Alaska Rainmakers Car Wash and across from the Flight Deck Lounge. This is the only coffee hut in town that is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week making it very convenient for night owls or people who have to work the graveyard shift. This location is frequently busy with two or three cars on average waiting in line every time I pull up. However, the wait in line is a reasonable five minutes per car and the friendly baristas do a great job of keeping the lines moving in both drive-thru windows. The barista that helped me gave me a friendly greeting and was fast in making my drink order. A list of specials on the window caught my eye and I decided to go with a Reese's Peanut Butter Mocha in a 16 oz. The mocha was delicious with the noticeable taste of the Reese's brand peanut butter syrup mixed in with the chocolate topped with whipped cream, but just the right amount without taking away from the coffee itself. Aside from the usual espresso and food menu, this was the first place in town I came across that served Dirty Chai Frappuccinos. I usually have Chai Tea served hot, but I intend to try this out as the weather gets warmer. Punch cards are handed out to anyone who tells the baristas it is their first time there and after the 10th punch, any large drink will be $4.00 off. Drink specials change frequently so there will always be something unique to try in future visits. read more

I don't know what the hype was about. We waited in line for about 20 minutes and had our orders ready within 5 minutes. I had plain hot mocha and my friends had their coffee with CBD powder and couldn't tell the difference. It was a nice coffee but again, coffee is supposed to be nice. As a self-proclaimed caffeine addict who will drink coffee at any time of day or night, I was beyond excited to find out Anchorage was finally going to have a 24 hour coffee stand again. Boom! is located on the corner of Arctic and International in the same parking lot as a car wash. Perfect location if you want to grab coffee on the way to the airport. It makes having a 3:00am flight a little more tolerable knowing there is somewhere open to get your caffeine fix. Service has always been friendly when I've gone. Drink prices are reasonable and I've been satisfied every time I've visited. I'm giving four stars instead of five because, for some reason, they stopped serving their magically delicious cinnamon roll waffles. They were, as the name implies, cinnamon rolls in waffle form with frosting on top. I was sorely disappointed when I stopped by one day hoping to get my waffle fix only to find out they no longer had them. Although I suppose this is sort of a good thing because if they still had the waffles I would be eating them way too often anyway. read more
