    Mocha frappe

I used to love coming here because it's right down the road from me. But $12.75 for a 20 oz mocha frappe w/ caramel drizzle 4 shots is egregious. The shop at the college (where everything is overpriced and okay at best) is $6.70 and it frankly tastes the same. Even Boom you can get a 32 oz frappe with 6 shots for $9. Apparently the base here is no shots, no coffee at all too. Service was great as always but that's insanity for subpar coffee.

The baristas have always been great. But unfortunately the management seems to be the opposite, I've heard this from fellow customers along with employees and my own opinion goes along with this statement. Today an understandable mistake happened no big deal but what I learned from it is absolutely ridiculous. I was accidentally made a 16 oz instead of a 24oz they went to correct it how they are forced to not how they should as a business and a COFFEE SHOP. They poured the drink into a bigger cup and guess what ONLY ice was added no more drink or flavor NOTHING and guess what they cost different prices as well. This is absolutely crazy. Why as an owner of a business are you making your employees scam your customers, why are you scamming your costumers. Not ok at all.

Java the Hut is bright green, located in the Jewel Lake Bowl parking lot. They have convenient hours, short lines and friendly baristas. I always order their chai latte's. On my most recent visit I wanted something fun for my daughters birthday. I told my barista to surprise me. She concocted an Italian soda with popping pearls, I believe, complete with whipped cream and sprinkles. She used cupcake and other yummy flavors (that I'm forgetting) that melded well. I enjoyed a few taste tests. Thank you Java the Hut, my daughter enjoyed her birthday soda.

Pretty friendly baristas, decent prices, but they are so SLOW. Avoid this place unless you want to wait 30 minutes plus for a cup of coffee.

I didn't even go today, but I went to another coffee hut that was AWFUL and it just reminded me how much I love it here.

It's a little intimidating going to one of these for the first time and needed to look at the menu (for non coffee drinkers) Super friendly service and super tasty breakfast burritos!

It's important to know that you can only reach this stand heading eastbound as there is no left turn opening in the median going westbound. The stand itself was a little tricky to find at first since they are located in front of the car wash along with a competing coffee stand directly behind them. I pulled up to the window and a lady who I believe is one of the owners, gave me a friendly greeting. There was a biting chill to the cold wind as the sun was rapidly setting. Rather than getting the usual iced Americano, I decided to order a hot one with sugar-free Chocolate.... (syrup, not the powder for making mochas) and some heavy cream. The drink was ready with minimal wait and was the perfect choice for the advancing nighttime cold. The menu itself consists of your standard selection of mochas, lattes, cappuccinos, and frappes. They also have some food offerings that include cookies, pastries, breakfast burritos, and sandwiches among others. There are promotional items like a box lunch with a combination of food items and a coffee drink as well as specialty drinks with a Marvel-inspired one called The Hulk which is a green Red Bull drink for that extra caffeine boost. Perhaps, the one thing that stands out the most in this menu is the daily discounts they offer each day for police, military, teachers, municipal and state workers. It is a $1 discount on all coffee drinks for those that this applies to. A punch card is also given to new customers that offers a free drink after the tenth redemption. This was a good find for me as a state worker and a great way to support a new locally-owned business.

It's just a cute place to vibe at and be around the community. There is a coffee shop, plant shop, juice shop and small market in the same building which makes it worth the stop. The seasonal ginger bread chia tea from the coffee shop is like Christmas in your mouth. The turkey sandwich is like thanksgiving with cranberry sauce and pecans. The sweet potato burban cupcake was actually to die for. The cake was moist with a carm filling of pecans and bourbon topped with a light cream cheese frosting. The sausage was good though, and a bit salty, which might have balanced the seasoning in this item but the chunks were too few and big to be balanced. - messy egg salad sandwich: a lot of dill, heavy on the pickled flavor, and good red onion crunch. This was just ok. It looked better than it tasted, unless you're a fan of dill. Mainly got this sandwich to try their bread but the bread was an afterthought. - maple rhubarb muffin: hard pass. Can't taste the rhubarb and barely any maple. The bottom also was more burnt than anything. It seems they may have over mixed their batter, muffin didn't have a tender crumb.
