This is one Of my favorite coffee huts in south Anchorage, and this area certainly has plenty! They offer a great selection of creative drinks. I'm definitely a sucker for fun drinks so love when huts have a lot of options. I always try their monthly frappe specials which are always 20 oz for $7. Sometimes I even add a scoop of protein to the frappes. I also love their protein shakes. My favorite is the peanut butter banana one. They also have some really delicious and creative matcha drinks. They use a very good matcha and you can definitely taste the difference. They offer some fresh fruit options for fruit smoothies, which is a plus for my toddler. We usually stop for a smoothie once a week as a ritual after my son's gymnastics class. More often than not I opt to come here for our after class drinks! There are some food options from Mo's Deli, but I haven't tried them. They also do a Friday pizza special with Moose's Tooth. Definitely a good hut option in south anchorage! read more

Ok, I can say that I have been to EVERY coffee shop drive thru in Anchorage minus a few. And we have a lot. First off, I live right down the road. 2, my favorite shop is alll the way across town on fireweed and honestly I just don't want to drive that far all the time. But with that comes a price. For the longest time I had wondered why there were 4 cars on each side at any and all times of the day, every day. They must be doing something right. Yes they have been super nice and friendly and fast. They ask how your day is and what you're up to. But they are pretty expensive compared to Other shops. $4 for a 12oz mocha. Expensive but typical for south side either 3.50/3.75/4.00. I drive across town for delicious $3 mochas. My other go to is a red bull Italian soda which is 4.50 here. If you want the works (which I did) you get whipped cream, a sticker, sprinkles and a tootsie roll lollipop for an extra 50 cents. It's going to be a hard pill to swallow paying $5 for a red bull very often but it's fun and yummy and not far away. They have stickers on every hot drink with printed BBs cups and punch cards. So yes they have good things if you don't care about price they are pretty good. Coffee huts choose what to make their money on here they overprice everything. read more

These girls are kind and professional every time! The owners do a wonderful job with menu items and keeping the quality excellent and consistent. Prices everywhere have gone up in this economy yet at BB's the prices are still reasonable and well worth the stop. Gave this place three chances. Two times, the barista on the side closest to the road was incredibly slow; in the time to serve one customer, the other barista would have served two or three cars. On the final time we went, we wanted to see if the last time's service was a fluke; it was not. I cannot recommend this place unless you want to waste your time on terrible service. read more

One of my favorite coffee huts and one of the most popular in South Anchorage, BB's is always packed with lines of cars both ways every time I visit here. BB's Coffee Shop is located at the corner of Old Seward and O'Malley Centre Dr. across from the shopping center that houses Butcher Block No. 9. The employees here are super friendly. They remember every returning customer and addressing them by first name when they pull up at the opposite drive-thru window seeing this on more than one occasion. They have a great selection of espresso drinks and teas along with the usual pastries and snack items. I wanted to post this review because I found out that they have Protein Shakes here and you can have it custom-made to your liking especially low-carb and keto. I ordered a custom Protein Shake with low-carb chocolate protein powder, strawberries, bananas, peanut butter, and unsweetened almond milk. It was one of the best I have had recently and perfect after visiting the gym earlier. Despite the number of cars on both sides, the lines move steadily and the wait times are always a few short minutes. Make sure to ask for a punch card available at the windows. Super cute coffee hut, and where all the locals (and tourists) go for their daily dose of coffee. I agree with all the reviews mentioning friendly faces, super nice ladies, and great coffee. I asked her to whip something random - not too sweet - and she made me a Clarissa. Not too sure what was in it but I'm guessing cinnamon and vanilla since it tasted like the holidays. I also tried their hot chocolate which was amazing, especially with the homemade whipped cream. Line was long around 3PM but guessing it was just that afternoon slump. Can't wait to come visit again! How did I live in the Anchorage area for so long without knowing about this place? BB's Coffee almost always has quite the line on both sides of the stand. If you've ever been to Anchorage, you'll know that says a lot considering there is a drive-through coffee stand at just about every street corner. The wait can be frustrating at times, but it's worth it. The baristas are the nicest I've ever met and they'll gladly offer drink recommendations if you're not sure what you want. They have a great food and drink menu with a lot of items other places don't have, like iced tea lemonade and pretzels. The prices are reasonable too, especially given the quality of the drinks. Wonderful service, every time and from everyone. Good coffee alone doesn't get my dollar these days but everyone I've ever ordered from has been great no matter how busy. If you see a line, no worries it moves pretty quick and worth the wait. Bring your dog for a complimentary canine treat and enjoy the yummy drinks. I am from Fairbanks and have been following BBS on Instagram for a while now! I finally had the chance to visit Anchorage and try this coffee! It was absolutely amazing and worth every minute in line. The whip cream here is delicious and flavorful, the coffee tastes sooo good! They have super cute stickers and very friendly staff! How do you think Alaskans get through those long dark days?! We owe it all to coffee huts. Or at least I do. Some say that BB's is over-rated and over-priced, but I disagree. Yes the lines are long, but I'd much rather wait and pay for good coffee than pay for a crappy one. BB's does it right. Perks are that they definitely know how to make a good cup of coffee, not even just your basic latte, but they make a mean good americano and espresso, and that isn't even my go-to joe. They have a longgggg list of syrup flavours - think guava, pomegranate and more! The girls who work here are definitely a bunch of superstars. They are some of the nicest baristas I've come across - which says a lot when you have to be up at 6am and serve a demanding group of people. The brunette had an attitude both of the times I went. The first time I just thought she was having a bad day but the second day she had the same energy and it wasn't the vibe. The first day she burnt my bagel. She also forgot an item in my order. The second day she handed me my drinks in a broken holder and one of them spilled all over my cousin.
