I stopped by Jitters in Eagle River to grab a coffee to go and honestly, I was really impressed. I decided to try a lavender latte, partly because it sounded fancy, and partly because I love trying something different. It was fantastic. Smooth, warm, and just the right amount of lavender. Not too strong, not too subtle. The barista was super friendly and called my name quickly. I almost didn't catch it because I was fiddling with my phone, but my coffee was ready before I even realized it. The shop itself has this cozy, welcoming vibe. There's plenty of space to sit, though I ended up just taking mine to go, so I can't fully comment on how comfy the chairs are, but it looked like a nice place to hang out or meet a friend. They also have some food items like sandwiches and sweet treats. The place was clean and organized, but still felt lived-in in a good way. I noticed they sell little things too like mugs, prints from local artists, and even some branded shirts. I almost grabbed one of those mugs, but I resisted... I already have too many mugs. This was our cozy Christmas cafe where we spent most our early mornings with our toddler over the holidays. They have delicious espresso and teas. We loved all the fresh muffins and quiches. And the free to read bookshelf was a lovely touch. We so enjoyed our time here, eating/drinking our breakfasts and reading books with our son by the Christmas tree and decorated fireplace. The atmosphere is beyond comfy and cozy, it's downright homey. Plenty of tables and chairs as well as large arm chairs by the fireplace. This is the perfect place to meet with a business associate or friends and family. Largely young people running things. They're all quick and efficient as well as professional and personable. I usually do an ice brew and grab a pre-packaged breakfast burrito that I can heat up in their microwave. That's good for me. They have the wi-fi and clean restrooms. Parking is insane. Despite not living in Eagle River, Jitters is definitely one I'm willing to make the drive out for every so often. The atmosphere is cozy and warm, with none of the clinical feel of a modern Starbucks location. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and I haven't had a bad experience here, both at the cafe and the drive through location. The food is decent, pretty standard fare for any coffee shop here, and the drinks are quick and well made; I haven't had an issue with my order once, which is always greatly appreciated as someone who can be pretty picky due to ARFID. The atmosphere here is fantastic honestly, exactly what you would imagine an "ideal" cozy cafe to feel like. Warm, inviting, and somewhere you can sit and chat without feeling like a nuisance. This place is FIRE. Jitters is a great place for coffee and comfort foods. I got myself a large cup of regular Brazil flavored strong coffee, with a slice of cake, and it was a warm experience here. My girl got what she wanted. The iced Teas are good here too. They also have iced coffee for the young ones too. Happy friendly good people working here. Place looks more like a restaurant with art of it rather than a coffee shop. Nice staff and cool people, we will be back. read more

Perhaps coming here primarily for breakfast was a bad idea. We saw the number of good reviews and plentiful breakfast options so we stopped here on our way out of town. Unfortunately, the breakfast options are cold and wrapped in plastic wrap then you have to microwave it yourself if you want to eat it at that time. Mine was packaged 2 days prior. The food we ordered ended up being okay but if you're looking for breakfast, I'd go elsewhere. Our coffees were good and fresh. Prices for everything seemed a bit steep for what you get. It's pretty alright for a coffee joint. There are two entrances, though I tend to use the one closest to the cash register. Lots of wood tables and local art give it a comfy atmosphere. 15 minutes before closing was told that she already cleaned the blenders so we couldn't order smoothies. To say it was a disappointment would be an understatement. Ran down MT POW/MIA with kids since they asked for smoothies at Jitters as their reward for making it to the peak. There have been a couple of other times I have received poor customer service. It is much better than that big corporation called Starbucks, and when I lived in Alaska, it was where I always came for coffee. Jitters has ok coffee and can meet my needs in a pinch. The cafe is always over crowded, the coffee tends to be burnt, and milk is often also. The baristas typically don't always know how to make a proper cappuccino, mostly because they are 16-21 years old (this is not their fault), but again, in a pinch it will do. Jitters is an Eagle River staple, and its patrons take over the entire parking lot of the little strip mall. The little drive through blocks others from even being able to pull out. But it also shows the faith and strong community drive of Eagle River. If you are from the Chugiak/Eagle River area you cannot enter this shop without seeing someone you know and strike up a conversation (especially if you have been in the area from quite a while). The shop itself has grown from 1-2 units, has event space, and now has a fire place over the years, and will always be a place for the community. Everyone has their taste for coffee, this is not on my favorite for my taste buds - but it still does not stop me from being a patron to one of my old community's gathering spaces. read more

Popular with locals and visitors alike, they can get busy but it's worth a short wait. I am plant based now, but if I ever decided to cheat I might head there for a cookie.
