I visited Anchorage for 2 weeks and visited this coffee shop at least 4 times. I tried their lattes, mochas, and eggnog latte. I've had their burritos and their pastries. None of it disappointed. I ordered my mocha half-sweet (as usual), and it was perfect. Still had a bit of sweetness but mostly dark chocolate velvety. I'm very picky with my lattes (especially when they give too much foam), but that wasn't an issue! I loved it. The veggie burrito is bomb. I had it twice. Reindeer sausage was also cool. We ended up taking the cinnamon roll back home so we could heat it up, but I'm sure we could have just asked. The scones were fire! The lemon-blueberry scone is perfect for people who like pastries that aren't as sweet with more fruit-forward flavors. I've also gotten the pre-packaged Bob's Red Mill oatmeal cup, and they'll add steamed milk/hot water for you if you ask. The line can get long, buy come on, it's the only coffee shop so close to this residential area. The most I waited for a drink (from the back of the line which was close to the door.. to receiving my drink) was 20'. They are doing their best and do it with good attitudes. read more

I came in today to get some work done while on a work trip to Alaska. Free WiFi, lots of outlets, and plenty of seating made this the perfect place for that! I ordered an iced latte and the flavor was so good - just what I needed. The server was friendly and bathrooms were very clean. I like how there are multiple separate seating areas, and I was able to find a less crowded place to work and enjoy the background noise of the coffee machines and conversations of friends in the other room. My family and I were in town on vacation and we stopped at Kalabi coffee to grab something to eat for breakfast and some coffee. The restaurant is big, clean, has unique décor with mixed media art and pictures of women breastfeeding. Kalabi brothers must be the place to go, because it was BUSY and the line was about 8 people deep when we arrived. I got a reindeer sausage burrito and a chocolate muffin, my husband got a café mocha and a vegetable burrito because they rand out of sausage burritos, and we got my son a chocolate milk and a blueberry muffin. My husband's uncle got a black coffee and a ham and cheese breakfast sandwich. All of our order came out except my son's chocolate milk and the ham and cheese breakfast sandwich, so I had to go to the front and ask for them. Thankfully, they made them quickly and got them out to us. We would eat there again, just get their earlier next time so we can make sure we get what they want before they run out of them. This is probably my favorite coffee shop in all of Anchorage. Not only is the coffee on point, but the views at this particular location are incredible. The mountains in the backdrop make for a very scenic experience. The assorted pastries are also quite good, but I can't say for sure whether they are made on site. The danish certainly did not taste commercial, but they may have me fooled. I cannot speak for the wifi, or if it is even offered, though I assume it is based on seeing people work on their laptops. The easiest location to get in and out of. We love Kaladi's coffee. We get a danish and coffee to go every time and never disappointed. Also the busiest in my opinion, but so worth the wait. I get the Kaladi beans to take home. It can be ground for you if you ask, and you get a free coffee with each bag you buy. I tend to get 3 bags at a time so, so I get 2 iced coffees and one hot. For almost 25 years, I've been drinking vanilla lattes in this town. I've probably had over 1000 from kaladi Brothers alone. I am going to have to say the one I had today was by far the worst one I've ever had. It literally tasted like sour milk. That's the closest I can come to. I know the place is just filled with kids, but they need to understand that they should communicate with the customers instead of just standing behind the barista talking to themselves in a group the entire time. Everything else for the place has been the same for so many years. I have no complaints on that. customer service wasn't bad. It just wasn't good. I would never of complained on that if it wasn't for this nasty cup of coffee. I am dumping out over six dollars worth of coffee that is just not palatable. hopefully they improve and I will come back and change this review but it's gonna be a while before I come back. read more

I worked here years ago in college, love the coffee and to visit when I come back to visit. this go around I visited two locations, Tudor curve and mid town. Baristas were incredibly slow, one barely warm mocha, and lacking in friendly customer service? No one greats you, everyone seems like total lumps on a log. As a self-proclaimed coffee snob, I have fallen in love with Kaladi Brothers. Now, some will put me in a box when I say that I only drink decaf, but people who drink decaf do it for the flavor, not the rush. Despite that fact, every time I come to this location, I feel caffeinated. It is a wonderful location with a picturesque view, over the top service, a staff you want to add to your friend circle and flavor rich coffee and espresso drinks. Nestled on Tudor Rd on the far east side of town, every time I drive here, I think I missed it as I enter the beauty of Alaskan nature. Other than the parking lot, the view does not disappoint. As you enter the building the atmosphere grabs you as your eye scans custom artwork, steampunk-esque wooden tables, and a crowd of people, socializing, working, and smiling. As you approach the bar, the smiles get bigger as the staff is so congenial, you want to hang out there. If you are a first timer or at any time, the baristas are quite knowledgeable about the product and will answer even the more obscure questions about their product. If they don't know the answer, the manager on duty does. Now comes the best part... the coffee. Having tasted the decaf coffee, lattes, americanos and various specialty drinks, my personal opinion is that this is a smooth and aromatic coffee; it's not a 10/10 but it is a strong 8.5/10. The preciseness of the recipes is clear as the flavors are close to identical each time you order the same drink and they are completely relaxed about my odd ball, precise directions. Unlike a certain unnamed, well-known coffee chain, Kaladi Brothers does not rely on the preciseness of the pump, but measures carefully by the ounce when crafting your cup. What's best about this place for me is that way it makes me feel. As far as coffee houses go, I could spend a whole day here, working, reading, meeting new people, or writing reviews like this. If you're looking for a great place to hang out and enjoy good coffee with good people, come to this Kaladi Brothers. While you're at it, give decaf a try. read more

I ordered a bag of beans on GrubHub, paid and waited. I was very excited to try a local roaster. The driver informed me that the staff at this location cannot fill the order. I asked to speak with them, as I already paid and am home super sick with Covid. The man I spoke to was beyond rude. He said they don't do GrubHub at all. This location always has a long wait, even when there isn't anyone else in line. Also, the staff always seem less than pleased that you're there. Blank stares, monotone and short responses, etc. Annoyed if you ask for heated/warmed up food - even when they offer to do it. Service is a big deal to me, obviously. Stopped by on a recent trip to Anchorage to grab coffee for myself and 4 friends. I wasn't familiar with their menu, but they had (or could make) about anything you could possibly want. The girl taking my order was super patient and made sure I was able to get what everyone had requested for their order. The lattes, cold brew and blended drink were delicious. This is my favorite Kaladi Brothers location because of the atmosphere and the staff. There's plenty of seats near the windows where you have a great view of the mountains. There's a nice variety of different sizes of tables and chairs. I also like how there's a few outdoor tables and water for dogs. The staff is consistently friendly and makes the drinks just as ordered. Sometimes there's a bit of wait depending on how crowded it is, but not too bad. There's a great variety of coffee, espresso, tea, and other drink options, as well as some sandwiches and pastries. I don't come here as often as I used to since it's out of the way for me, but I do make sure to stop by whenever I'm in the area. read more

Went in for an iced chai and was not disappointed! The barista with the red and black hair was beyond friendly and was obviously the reason everything was running smoothly. I got an iced Alaska chai with soy milk and strawberry and the ratio of chai to milk was perfect with a sweet strawberry kick. I absolutely love coffee, and was skeptical when I first visited this place. Thought it would be just another coffee place with some bulk roast they buy from Sysco and you're normal cafe food, but when I receive my caramel mocha I was in love! Their coffee is smooth and the mocha doesn't have that chalky taste that you get from Starbucks. All their coffee is certified fair trade and organic- if you're into those things. The staff is nice too, though the service is a little on the slower side. So worth the wait though, highly recommended. read more

I'm not sure why people think this is the best coffee in Alaska. Is it just because it's an Alaska company? I am all about supporting local business but when it's bad, it's bad. I'm tired of giving Kaladi's a chance and money for such poor drinks and service. As usual when I went in to Kaladi's and ordered a drink, the girls behind the counter were just babbling away not paying attention to anything or anyone other than themselves. If management would spend time managing the conduct of the baristas the coffee would improve as well as the service. I really like this Kaladi Brothers. One of the more open shops. I like being able to see my entire surroundings, especially if I'm meeting someone here. They have free WiFi! It's not amazing, and when there are a lot of people, it seems slower, BUT it does the job and I can surf the net. Like other Kaladi's, they have artwork for sale along the walls. Currently it's beautiful Alaskan photographs. I would buy them all if I could. Because of how busy this one gets, the bakery items always seem sparse when I come in. I typically only see packaged epic bites or yogurt parfaits and cinnamon rolls in the glass case. Staff is amazing, they all get gold stars! PLUS they ask every customer if they are military. Makes me feel good that they offer the military discount for those who serve. All in all, I would come back on the regular. read more
