If you have a sweet tooth then this place has your fill of sweets. I'm super picky about my sweets and even more so about my cookies. Trust me I won't hesitate to say something tastes awful. They have a variety of cookies weekly with a few that always stick around week to week. The place is modern, but still smells like a bakery or a place you wouldn't mind sleeping in when you walk in. The staff is super friendly and always ready to help you with your selections. Plenty of parking and if not it's just a short walk and a chance to enjoy the beautiful murals that downtown Exeter has to showcase.

They taste as amazing as they look.

OMG.......Amazing cookies. The Smore cookie is probably the best cookie I have ever had in my life and I'm not a youngster. They take a chocolate chip cookie and melt marshmallows on top and then place a small chocolate bar in the melted marshmallows. Incredible . If you are in the area and you like cookies ( who doesn't ) this is a must stop place.

Wow! I'm a baker and could not have been more impressed with the lemon cookie with buttercream frosting. Simply amazing. The latte was perfect too

Twix shortbread, S'mores chocolate chip, and lemon with blackberry icing. The lemon cookie was so refreshing!

If you're a Crumbl cookie fan, THIS is the spot for you! They have standard cookies and weekly special flavors PLUS they're made with love for that fresh homemade taste! We bought a few and cut them into 4 pieces for maximum taste testing...10/10 some of the best cookies I've ever had! Who would want a corporate cookie when you can have these?

New cookie bakery opened in Exeter. I first stumbled upon one of these cookies from one of their "cookie dealer" spots in Fresno and they're fantastic. It was a peanut butter cookie and it was to die for; soft, flavorful, satisfying and huge. I will wager and say that they are better than the popular Crumbl cookies and it's local so that's a big plus if you're supporting small business. They also have a really active social media page and the owner is super friendly and engaged. Would 100% recommend and is worth a drive to Exeter if you are nearby.

These cookies are amazing! They are so delicious and thick. Definitely worth every penny and their shop is very cute and welcoming. This is definitely an Exeter Gem!

With the reviews on Yelp and the recommendation of our Air bnb host, this was a "must" during our visit. Nice decor and ambiance upon entering. Had a musician playing clarinet, which was beautiful. Unfortunately, we did not even eat here. As I stated, we had been at an outdoor convention- we were in nice jeans and ballcaps. This restaurant was not "suit" fancy, but we may have appeared underdressed with our ballcaps. Honestly we don't make a habit of dressing down and are usually overdressed lol. We felt judged the moment we walked in. They asked if we had a reservation. We did not but we were still sat. There was a wine tasting going on and we were asked if we would like to participate. We politely declined. The vineyard owner came over and talked to us. I politely declined again. The waitress never returned for over 10min. We hadn't even been asked about any other drinks, appetizers, specials of the house, nothing. The menu had some amazing dishes and appetizers that I am sad I wasn't able to try, but if you're going to make me feel less because I didn't have an opportunity to brush out my ponytail and change my shoes, then you're not deserving of the money we were planning on spending in your establishment. These Texas ranchers were very unimpressed

The moment I walked in, I was met with a mix of textures, a brick wall on one side, a row of mirror‑panels dressed like windows on the other, and a clean white wall in the back. It's an interesting blend, almost theatrical, like the space is trying to tell a story before you even get to the food. And the food is where things get fun. The display case is packed with pastries, croissants, cannoli, muffins, all the sweet treats a bakery should have, each one looking like it was made to tempt you. I stood there longer than I expected, going back and forth on what to choose because everything looked good. I finally settled on the berry vanilla pastry, and it was worth the indecision. Flaky, powdered with sugar, creamy from the custard, and sweet from the berries, the kind of pastry that makes a mess and doesn't apologize for it. I didn't know the "proper" way to eat it, so I just picked it up and took a bite. Sometimes that's the best way to meet a pastry for the first time. As I sat there, I noticed the atmosphere shift around me, religious canvases on the walls, Bible verses printed on the tables, and gospel music playing softly in the background. It's a bakery rooted deeply in faith, and the environment reflects that. Not in an overwhelming way, but in a way that tells you exactly what kind of values built the place. Then I looked up at the menu wall coffee, teas, refreshers, sandwiches for breakfast and lunch. Plenty of options that would easily pull me back in on another day. I just need to make sure I don't get distracted by the pastry case again before I even get to the menu. Jireh Bakery is a sweet little spot with personality, good pastries, and an atmosphere that stands out. I came in for a treat, and I left already thinking about what I'll try next time.

No call, no email, no follow-up from the manager just excuse after excuse and being told to keep waiting or no one above was in at the moment and to call back at a earlier time. After two weeks of reaching out myself, I finally called again only to be told I wasn't selected. Apparently nobody could take 30 seconds to communicate that decision sooner. Instead, I had to do all the work just to get a simple answer. The issue isn't that I didn't get the job. The issue is the complete lack of professionalism and respect for people's time. If the manager knew the decision had already been made, why leave applicants hanging for weeks? It makes the entire hiring process feel disorganized and poorly managed. After reading other reviews mentioning management problems, my experience doesn't seem like an isolated incident. For a company that constantly talks about treating people with respect, this location does a poor job of showing it. Two weeks of chasing updates just to find out I wasn't hired is unacceptable and reflects badly on the management running this store.

I first reviewed Pete's Place many years ago, back when I was just starting out with simple food…read morereviews. Coming back now, I wanted to see if it still lived up to the five stars I gave it back then, not out of nostalgia, but out of curiosity. The menu has grown into a wide spread: sandwiches, salads, burgers, chicken fried steak, even pasta. It's the kind of menu that makes you realize this place is built to feed everyone, no matter what they're in the mood for. I started with something simple, a water on a hot summer day, and it arrived with a lemon wedge. It's a small touch, but one I haven't seen in a while. The kind of detail that tells you someone still cares about the basics. It was lunchtime, so I waited a bit to be seated, but that's just part of dining in a small town. The waitress was kind, patient, and attentive in a way that stood out. Before I could even ask, she refilled my water multiple times, noticing the half‑empty glass and taking care of it without hesitation. That kind of service goes a long way. I ordered the jalapeño burger, and it came out faster than expected. The fries were lightly salted steak fries, my favorite, and cooked just right. The burger itself was a mixed experience. The bun was grilled, which gave it good flavor, but it also made it collapse into a thin, flat shape the moment I picked it up. And while I ordered a jalapeño burger expecting heat, the jalapeños were thick, grilled slices from a large pepper. Every bite was dominated by jalapeño, to the point where the burger itself got lost in the background. I love spicy food, but the balance was off, more jalapeño than burger. Still, the service was warm, the goodbye on the way out was genuine, and the menu has enough variety that I'd come back to try something different. I'm not handing out five stars this time, but I'm also not writing this place off. Pete's Place is part of Exeter's rhythm, and revisiting it felt like checking in with an old spot that still has plenty to offer, just maybe not that jalapeño burger again.
