THE BEST doughnuts!! The shop is nondescript. It's just a tiny little building nestled between a couple convenience stores, windows all along the front to showcase the doughnuts. You walk up to the window, ask about the doughnuts, and walk away with little pillows of deliciousness. The doughnuts are always fresh. They're fluffy and thick, with no big pockets inside. They're just perfectly sweet, not super overdone with the sweetness like some other places. And I LOVE that this place is cash only! More places need to go to cash business, in my opinion. This is by far the best donut shop in Visalia! Scotty's has been a Visalia staple for a very long time and for good reason! This is a simple, no frills, classic donut shop. My favorite is the maple bar. I have never had a maple bar as good as this one, something about that frosting is just so good! Also, their frostings are fresh and don't have that plastic-y look that some donut shops have. This morning I took my brother-in-law with special needs there, and an employee ran from the back to bring him a free, super fresh glazed donut, which was so kind! Scotty's has been a staple in Visalia since I was a kid, I'm glad we decided to stop this morning for a donut. Service right out of the gate was amazing! The young gentleman who helped us was super nice and very helpful with my wife's questions. I got a glaze and wife got a bar with what looks to be filling on the outside and possibly inside as well. The ambiance is your classic style walk up/ drive up donut shop, but the parking is terrible, especially when it's busy! I recently visited Scotty's Donuts today and my experience left me thoroughly disappointed and dissatisfied. The employee stacked 7 donuts in a small box on top of each other. As a result, the donuts were stuck together and the frosting on top of them completely came off. I'm not sure why the employee chose to stack them like this and put them in a small box, when usually they would be put in a bigger one. I live 40 minutes away from this donut place and me and my family were utterly disappointed when we opened the box to see these messed up donuts. read more

I've never had a problem going here. Today must have been an off day for the gentleman at the window. (after my experience with him, I wouldn't call him a gentleman). Whether it was a misunderstanding, or just poor communication skills on his behalf I was given a wrong order. I called them on the phone and a lady named Karen answered. She was very nice and advised me I could come back and exchange or get a refund. When I arrived at the shop, I am assuming Karen was the one helping me. She took my wrong order back and was about to give me my refund. Before I could get my refund the boy came to the window and proceeded to explain to me that he gave me the right information and I was the one who misunderstood and I was wrong. For one, I could have easily gotten my refund and been on my way. No problem. But instead he needed to come to the window to prove his point. I asked him why he had to come to the window and try to prove to me that it was my fault why I got the wrong order. He said " I am not, well actually Yes, I am trying to prove a point". I am sure I am not the first person to get an incorrect order, nor will I be the last. I really hope he doesn't berate every customer this happens to. At the end, I even had the little Hispanic lady cussing at me in Spanish. This all could have been avoided if the boy could of refrained from trying to be right. I will never return to this donut shop. It's very unfortunate since the customer service is usually fast and courteous. read more

Been going here for 40 something years and we've seen it go through a couple different owners but they've passed everything on since things really haven't changed over the years. I do door dash and this place is always busy! When I pick up an order the donuts in the window look amazing and fresh. They always smell amazing too. Today, My mom and myself got to try them out. When you see these donuts, they're bigger and fluffier than most donut places. You can tell just by the way they look they're amazing. They have a wide variety of donuts to choose from and also croissants. The first bite of my chocolate bar was out of this world good. This is hands down the best donut I have ever tasted. They're not greasy and very fluffy and big. I could not put this donut down it was so good. My mom felt the same way. Now I know for a fact why they're so busy. The staff is always super friendly and accommodating. The only downside is there is not a lot of parking, they do have a drive thru but only two cars can really fit. Don't let that stop you!!
