I called about 9:16 on the 4th of July on 2019 to verify the closing time and a man very amicably told me they close at 10 as I disclosed that I was on my way in which an man that I'm not going to assume the ethnicity concurred. I arrived to the establishment about 9:38pm and greeted by a man slamming the window closed in my face and screaming obscenities to a homeless person begging for water. I asked why they closed and he came to the window and opened it momentarily to yell "we're closed come back tomorrow "! I asked for his name to reference to the owner and he said his name was Bryan and he was the owner in which I didn't believe . We've lived here close to 40 years. So I can say back in the days Scotty's Donuts was the only place to get donuts at. After every soccer game whether the kids team won of lost. After Dr visits. At least once on the weekend and especially when grades came out. We went bc that's what the kids and then husband wanted. I don't care that much for donuts. So now the grandkids are asking for them bc their parents told them how good Scotty's Donuts are. Of course I will get them for the adult kids and now grandkids. It's been a while since I've been to Scotty's. I would like to know what happened to Scotty's donuts. Are they new owners? Definitely different people are working there which isn't the issue. The problem is where are all the donuts? At 3:00 in the afternoon schools all over Visalia are getting out and all that Scotty's has to offer is bear claws and chocolate bars? A few sprinkle cake donuts and that's it!! I would have taken a pic of the display but was afraid the guy who was working may come after me. There was 2 people working. One would think there's no reason for the lack of donuts. I made the comment ..... "Where are all the donuts?" He said .... "It started raining and now everyone wants donuts." I said, "Sure it's comfort food. All we want to do is go home turn on the fire place and have hot chocolate. Comfort food!!" He lol thinking I was making a joke. Little did he know I was going to write this complaint on YELP! The lack of concern from the guy who was working and very little to pick from really bothered me. I heard the guy after me and the lady that did the drive ask the same question... where are all the donuts?? The guy just lol and said they've been sold. I no longer live in Visalia and have to drive 45 minutes to get my soda and donuts because they are the best. Their soda is out of this world amazing!!! With crushed ice and perfect consistency of carbonation it is hands down the best soda you will ever have. There donuts are just as grand. I only get the Chocolate Chocolate Sprinkles because there chocolate icing has this coffee taste to it that is amazing. My mother gets there Apple Fritters and Glazed. I have tried almost everything they have and it is amazing. Never fails. Just purchased a box for my family, and while eating a raspberry filled donut, I find a STAPLE in the jelly. I called and was told the manager's not there, but I can bring it back for another one. Umm, no thanks. The employee told me that's so weird, because they don't even have staples there. That doesn't make me feel any better. Where the heck does the jelly come from then? I've yet to find a donut that can truly rival Scotty's. I've lived all up and down the west coast and they're still my favorite. They're good for the old standbys, and make a MEAN buttermilk bar. I used to stop by on my way to school every morning and grab a donut and a Diet Pepsi to go and enjoy my extremely bad-for-me breakfast. Ah, memories! Not to mention they're not greasy and they're usually ridiculously fresh, especially in the mornings when donuts are flying out of that place faster than they can keep up. Visalia is lucky to have this joint, they are far better than any of the surrounding competition (Krispy Kreme never stood a chance!) and their prices are fair. read more

Best donuts hands down. Wow just the flavor is so good right texture and all! Always grab a few donuts here. White with sprinkles my favorite! Any other donuts don't compare to this place. Only complaint i have is when I got a twist donut and the guy put it in a short bag and then laid it on the window area for me. I asked for a new one since um every one touches that area and hand money through there! He angrily picked it up and THREW it in the trash. By far, hands down, the best donuts in the central valley. Everything tastes so fresh. And I love the ice they have for drinks. My personal favorite from here is the bear claw. Mmmmm. Fall and donuts go so well together! Who are we kidding? Any time is a good time for donuts! A friend took me here yesterday. She said it was one of the best donut places in town. I usually go for chocolate, but I got a maple bar this time. It was pretty good! It was very fluffy on the inside and seemed really fresh. It was a bit sweet though, but that's kind of expected. They didn't have a huge selection, but I guess I'm just used to places that carry flavors like blueberry and pumpkin. Just some good old-fashioned classics here! No tables or chairs.
