I didn't know the "proper" way to eat it, so I just picked it up and took a bite. Sometimes that's the best way to meet a pastry for the first time. As I sat there, I noticed the atmosphere shift around me, religious canvases on the walls, Bible verses printed on the tables, and gospel music playing softly in the background. It's a bakery rooted deeply in faith, and the environment reflects that. Not in an overwhelming way, but in a way that tells you exactly what kind of values built the place. Then I looked up at the menu wall coffee, teas, refreshers, sandwiches for breakfast and lunch. Plenty of options that would easily pull me back in on another day. Group of 4 of us ordered breakfast sandwiches and some coffees. I wanted to be upset and disappointed with the breakfast when it finally came, because we waited about an hour for our food, but it was delicious. Highly recommend their breakfast sandwich with the chimichurri sauce on it. Coffee was average. Beautiful space in California sort of a hidden gem. We were traveling from Sequoia back to NOHO and needed some coffee and sweet treats. We stopped here quickly and I immediately took note of the expansive display of pastries and breakfast items, so many delicious things to choose from. I can never settle on a normal amount of dessert so I got the apple pie, apple turnover, banana bread, and a cinnamon roll. With how fast they disappeared, you can assume they were amazing. Stopped by this bakery in Exeter on our way back from Sequoia, and it was such a great find! They had a really nice selection of fresh pastries, and even offered made-to-order croissant breakfast sandwiches. We had already grabbed coffee next door, but they sell coffee and espresso drinks too if you want everything in one spot. I walked in within a few minutes of the young lady almost closing. I know, I felt bad but she was still willing to let me order. I was in town looking for our wedding venue and I decided to stop by after our meeting. The first thing that caught my eye, was the breakfast croissant. Afternoon breakfast, why not? Right. Just me? The coffee, however, took 30 minutes to get to us (the server forgot about us, we had to ask again for it) and it tasted like a pre-made mix you can buy at the grocery store. We ordered an apple pie to take to our hostess as a gift along with a package of ground Guatemalan coffee. Our hostess was so pleased. We found Jireh Bakery's staff to be friendly, helpful and accommodating. It was Christmas Eve morning and the place was packed. Everyone was happy and satisfied. This bakery just opened in Downtown Exeter. They have predominantly baked goods, crepes, some sandwiches and coffee. It was empty when I walked in but this place has lots of baked good options. Some interesting items they had were; cannollis, tres leches cake, empanadas and mulhoja (butter cream pastry). I ordered a cannoli and a Turkey & Cheese crepe. The cannoli was okay but the creep was better, it looked delicately prepared and was actually quite filling. It is to die for every single item I have had so far from their selection has been hands-down, some of the best pastries I've had in a very long time. you can tell the pastry chef here who is also, the owner put a lot of love into his baking skills to produce a mouthwatering delicacies.
